American Standards Posts New Video “Carpe Diem Tomorrow”

Phoenix hardcore outfit American Standards just released second music video single “Carpe Diem Tomorrow,” which comes off upcoming record “Anti-Melody.”

In this claustrophobically dark video filmed by Jacob Reynolds (Dead Rabbits, Escape The Fate, The New Low), silhouettes of the band thrash amidst frantic lights, capturing the passion and intensity of the song.

Vocalist Brandon Kellum commented on the video: “We all know the person that’s been at their job for 10 years and complains every day about it, someone who’s planed on going back to school or wants to travel but always makes excuses on why they don’t. ‘Carpe Diem, Tomorrow’ is about getting out of your comfort zone. Being open to new experiences and ways of thinking. Moving is living. You’re not getting any younger and there will never be a ‘right time’ so do something that scares the hell out of you every day of your life.”

New album “Anti-Melody” comes out April 28th and is available for pre-order on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp. Check out the new video below.

Turncoat Releases “American Dream” Music Video

Michigan hardcore outfit Turncoat just released a new music video for latest single “American Dream.” The video has a 90’s home video-like vibe of the band’s home town showing raw footage from the Detroit area.

This single comes by way of the group’s Eulogy Recordings, 2016 self-titled EP and was recently selected to be on Metal Hammer’s New Noise compilation album. Guitarist Keith Keister comments:

“‘American Dream’ is groovy, fast paced, straight forward example of exactly what we’re trying to convey as a band. Off our Eulogy Records debut EP, it’s definitely one of my favorites live and on the recording. This video gives a simple 90s-ish home video vibe and show cases some of the places we drive by, live near or see in our everyday life in Michigan and shows us in a very raw and back to basics perspective.”

Reality Slap Posts “Haymaker” Video

Portuguese hardcore outfit Reality Slap has released a video for “Haymaker” below, taken off the “Limitless” EP set for release this Friday the 13th through War Records, the label founded by Andrew Kline of Strife.

Combining the best of old-school aggression with a modern hardcore vibe, Reality Slap’s songs are full of tight riffs, heavy grooves, and always pack a massive punch. Issues Reality Slap of the new single:

“‘Haymaker’ is a metaphoric punch to human attitude towards life and other beings. It’s really a call out to everyone who chooses not to feel, who chooses to ignore what’s going on around them because they’re too entertained and blinded by all the material shit that’s put in front of them. We still want to feel and we still want to see, that’s life, connection is key, there’s more life beyond. We can always do better and find a better narrative to address problems and life itself. We choose not to ignore by approaching life with a smile and against human numbness.”

Reality Slap Posts New Song “Lone Wolf”

As War Records prepares to release the new “Limitless” EP from Portuguese hardcore outfit Reality Slap in January, a new track titled “Lone Wolf” has come online. The band comments:

“‘Lone Wolf’ is about soul search. It’s about trying to figure out what you are, and understanding what’s important personally. It’s about being okay with being yourself. Not following what’s expected, not feeling ashamed. It’s okay to be different and it’s something to be proud of.

“We see it too many times happening in hardcore where you’re expected to act in a certain way and say the same old thing, but that’s not what this scene is all about. Rather than looking outside, I feel it’s time people start looking and focusing on their own being in this sense and embracing how they feel and how they are. Be angry, make yourself be heard, this scene needs that.”

War Records will issue “Limitless” on vinyl, CD, and digital formats this coming January 13th, 2017.
