Venom Reveals New Album “Storm The Gates” Details

Black metal godfathers Venom has announced that they will be releasing a new studio album entitled “Storm The Gates” on December 14th through Spinefarm Records. This will be their first album since the 2015 release, “From The Very Depths” and will initially be released on CD and download, with vinyl and cassette editions to follow in 2019.

Frontman Chronos stated: “Get ready for another killer album, packed full of awesome riffs and screaming mayhem. We’ve been hard at work for over two years to make sure this new release raises the bar, to deliver a demonic mix of old and new. I’m hoping to talk the label into a xmas day release date, yo fucking ho, hell yeah. Get ready to Lay Down Your Souls Legions.”

Augury Announce “Illusive Golden Age” – Unveil Cover Art &Teaser

Montreal-based progressive death metal legends Augury has been hard at work the last few years writing and recording the follow-up to their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Fragmentary Evidence. Today the group is proud to officially announce their 3rd full-length, Illusive Golden Age. Set for release on March 30th through The Artisan Era.

The cover art was designed by renowned artist Filip Ivanovic, who created last year’s Origin album art. Augury enlisted Cryptopsy guitarist Chris Donaldson at The Grid Studios in Montreal with the album’s mixing and mastering to ensure a high-quality sounding final product. Illusive Golden Age is certain to be one of 2018’s most memorable death metal records, and a strong return to form from one of the modern eras most influential progressive death metal acts. The albums first single will see release next Monday, February 5th.

Rise Of The Northstar Recording New Album Gojira’s Joe Duplantier

Crossover metallers Rise Of The Northstar are currently hard at work recording the follow-up to their hit debut ‘Welcame’. The band travelled all the way to New York and entered the Silver Cord Studio to record with Gojira’s very own Joe Duplantier.

Commented the band: “If touring in Japan was always our goal, making an album in New York, one of the most influential cities in the world, with Joe Duplantier producing, is one big challenge.
We’re here to enhance our blend of metal and rap and to take it to the next level. Each corner of this town is a visual mirror of the thickness of our sound. We’re gonna soak in Brooklyn and sweat it back out on record.”

Added Duplantier: “I’m excited to contribute to this album. Rise Of The Northstar is badass. Their approach of music is so direct, and they drive their career the same way. Definitely a great experience for me.”

Augury Inks Record Deal With The Artisan Era

The wait is nearly over! Montreal-based progressive death metal crew Augury has been hard at work the last few years writing and recording a highly-anticipated third album to follow 2009’s “Fragmentary Evidence.”

Today the band is proud to announce signing a record deal with rising extreme metal label The Artisan Era, which will be followed by the release of Augury’s 3rd album in 2018.

The Canadian group comments: “We are proud to announce that Augury has teamed with The Artisan Era Records for the release of our third album. While the recording is entering the mixing/mastering process with Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) at The Grid Studios, Augury is back with a new creation, lyrically influenced by lost civilizations and their enigmas, musically following the roots from the two predecessors, 2004’s ‘Concealed,’ and 2009’s ‘Fragmentary Evidence.’ The album’s artwork and title will be disclosed in a further statement, so brace yourselves for its emergence in Spring 2018!”

Victory Heights Wrapping Up Work On New Album

Denver, Colorado band Victory Heights just signed to FM Music Management and has been hard at work finishing up new full-length record, “Nothing Is Beautiful.” which is planned for release during the first half of 2017.

Karl Bagnall,vocalist of Victory Heights, comments: “We had been searching for the right management team for months when we discovered FM and began talking. I felt chemistry with them right out of the gate, and we knew that this was the team.

“We feel very privileged to be working with a team that backs what we do and is passionate about music like we are. Dischordia Posts “Thanatopsis” Band Playthrough

Oklahoma City-based progressive death metal trio Dischordia has been hard at work on an ambitious multi-song playthrough video that encompasses “Thanatopsis” parts 1 through 3 from the 2016 album of the same name.

After finally nailing it in the studio, the video comes online today. Clocking in at over 16 minutes, the “Thanatopsis Suite” full band playthrough is an impressive feat to witness – check it out below.

Dischordia Announces “The Wastelands” Tour Dates

After releasing Thanatopsis in 2016, Oklahoma City-based progressive death metal trio Dischordia is eager to return to the road. Today, the band officially announces The Wastelands Tour, scheduled for March 9th through the 18th.

Joining the band on The Wastelands Tour is St. Louis group Quaere Verum who, like Dischordia, play a complex and difficult to categorize brand of metal. The sound overall is progressive, but the individual components within meld elements from death metal, mathcore, groove metal, rock, jazz, and more into a dense ball of unpredictable and experimental fury.

With two releases under the band’s belt thus far, Quaere Verum is currently hard at work on a new full-length album tentatively set for a fall 2017 release.

Nile Recording New Material

U.S. death metal outfit Nile is hard at work on new material to follow the 2015 album “What Should Not Be Unearthed.”

The band comments: “We are slaving away in the dungeon (studio) gearing up for our February and March USA tour with Overkill – Looking forward to getting back on the road!”

Carrier Flux Recording New Album

U.S. avant-garde black metal outfit Carrier Flux has a new studio release in the works, and now the band is giving a look at what’s happening on the studio side at Facebook here. The first update reads:

“Carrier Flux is hard at work on the next album. I’ll be giving a virtual tour of the studio that’s been built up over the past 20+ years. Some of the equipment is home-made, most of it mass-production.

“All of it was carefully selected and deliberately integrated to form a dark atmospheric soundscape. Today’s photo is the majority of the studio as a whole. Later I’ll go into details about the individual components.”
