The Atlas Moth Debut New Song “Actual Human Blood”

Another new track from The Atlas Moth‘s upcoming album “Coma Noir” has been made available. Below you can stream “Actual Human Blood” off the album. “Coma Noir” will hit next Friday, February 09th, through Prosthetic Records.

Comments guitarist/vocalist David Kush:

“This song mostly came about because of Mike [Broken Hope] joining the band. He is an absolute beast on drums and we wanted to write some songs that could showcase his talent while still keeping true to our Atlas Moth sound. The guy is a machine and we can’t wait to get on the road with him to play this live!”

“The concept of cults and cult mentality is explored throughout Coma Noir. You could even say that we as a band and our fans are collectively a cult. The psychedelic culture is a cult of sorts. Religion can be seen as a cult. We aren’t commenting on if they are good or bad, just pointing out that when people believe blindly in anything as truth, they will close themselves off to the greater cult we all fall into which is just Human Beings.

We write these songs in part to inspire others to think for themselves and be entertained, but mostly to remind OURSELVES of the journey we all have taken to come to these realizations.”

PRIMORDIAL: Dublin Metal Troupe Unveils New Tune At Stereogum

– October 21st, 2014 –

Where Greater Men Have Fallen To See Release Next Month

Today Stereogum is pleased to host the official unveiling of “Come The Flood,” the new hymn from Dublin metal troupe, PRIMORDIAL. The stirring tune appears as the third track on the band’s long-anticipated Where Greater Men Have Fallen full-length, set for release via Metal Blade Records this November.

Praised by Pitchfork for their fastidiously composed “folk and black metal-inflected classic metal that spirals and extends and, somehow, keeps getting bigger,Where Greater Men Have Fallen serves as the follow-up to PRIMORDIAL‘s globally adored, 2011-released Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand long player and their eighth studio offering overall. An eight track, fifty-eight minute magnum opus, Where Greater Men Have Fallen was recorded at Grouse Lodge in Dublin with Jaime Gomez (Cathedral, Angelwitch, Grave Miasma) and delivers some of the band’s deepest, most methodically arranged, thematically profound and plainly gripping compositions of their winding catalog of sonic enormity.

Gushes Stereogum of “Come The Flood,” “Frontman Alan Averill (aka A.A. Nemtheanga) is a firebrand, channeling a mythic vision of humanity’s pain through a personal lens of frustration, resulting in a swaggering, staggering bellow that would sound absurd out of context, but instead comes off absurdly powerful. It’s pure theater, but closer to Macbeth than anything else. ‘Come The Flood’ is the second single off Where Greater Men Have Fallen, following the crushing title track, which came out a couple weeks back. “Come The Flood” takes a different tack, lacing jangling minor-key guitars and spoken word throughout its 7-minute runtime before exploding in the second half, embodying the biblical fire and cathartic rain it describes with sonic force. Like the first single, the results are beyond what we’ve come to expect from … anything, really.

Experience the near-eight-minute epic “Come The FloodHERE.

Where Greater Men Have Fallen will be released on November 25th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. Visit http://www.metalblade.com/primordial where you’ll find a lyric video for the title track as well as a gaggle of preorder options. The record will come available on CD and on vinyl in various color variants. Additionally, Where Greater Men Have Fallen will be released in a limited European deluxe edition wood boxset which includes a CD+DVD digibook, an exclusive 7″, a leather wristband, a poster and a certificate of authenticity.

PRIMORDIAL to Release New Full-Length this November via Metal Blade Records

– September 30th, 2014 –

Lyric Video Now Playing + Pre-order Packages Available

Dublin’s finest metal exports, PRIMORDIAL, will release their long-anticipated new studio album, “Where Greater Men Have Fallen“, later this Fall via Metal Blade Records.

Commended by Pitchfork for their meticulously composed “folk and black metal-inflected classic metal that spirals and extends and, somehow, keeps getting bigger,” and crowned the, “most vital heavy metal band on the planet,” by Last Rites, “Where Greater Men Have Fallen” serves as the followup to PRIMORDIAL‘s critically-adored, 2011-released “Redemption At The Puritan’s” Hand full-length and boasts some of the band’s deepest, most meticulously composed compositions to date. The eight-track, fifty-eight minute epic was tracked at Grouse Lodge in Dublin with Jaime Gomez (Cathedral, Angelwitch, Grave Miasma).

Singer A.A. Nemtheanga elaborates: “Some time at the end of 2013 we sat and began to plot a course for album number eight. We moved camp to a new rehearsal room and the ideas began to take shape. We felt it was time to try a new studio and engineer so we went to Grouse Lodge deep in the middle of Ireland and employed Gomez to come over and work on the new album.” The band’s idea was, of course, to keep the PRIMORDIAL trademarks intact while incorporating a broader, heavier more organic sound. “We feel revitalized, the hunger never left and we are ready for another chapter to be written in our history!

Sample the dark, victorious cadence of title track “Where Greater Men Have Fallen,” with the official new lyric video now playing HERE.

Where Greater Men Have Fallen” track listing:
1. Where Greater Men Have Fallen
2. Babel’s Tower
3. Come The Flood
4. The Seed Of Tyrants
5. Ghosts Of The Charnel House
6. The Alchemist’s Head
7. Born To Night
8 .Wield Lightning To Split The Sun

Where Greater Men Have Fallen will be released on November 25th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records. Point your browser to metalblade.com/primordial for a host of preorder options. The record will be available on CD and vinyl. Where Greater Men Have Fallen will also be released in limited European deluxe edition wood boxset which includes the CD+DVD digibook, an exclusive 7″, a leather wristband, a poster and a certificate of authenticity.

PRIMORDIAL:
A.A. Nemtheanga – Vocals
Ciaran MacUiliam – Guitar
Michael O’Floinn – Guitar
Paul MacAmlaigh – Bass
Simon O’Laoghaire – Drums

Of all the lead singers in metal music today, Averill [A.A. Nemtheanga] is one of the genre’s most riveting frontmen: not only does he possess a commanding stage presence, but he has a mighty bellow of a voice, he’s capable of some striking vocal melodies, he enunciates extremely well (a dying art in metal), and best of all, he’s as eloquent a lyricist as you’ll come across.“- Pop Matters
