Infected Dead Details For Upcoming Album “Archaic Malevolence” Revealed

From the rotten shores of the River Medway in Kent, UK, Infected Dead have emerged to reveal details of their debut record Archaic Malevolence, set for release 8th December via Hostile Media. Six tracks of visceral death metal, brutal, catchy, influenced by genre leaders Aborted and The Black Dahlia Murder, as well as a love of the occult and Lovecraftian cosmic horror. The 5-piece have honed a razor-sharp sound, underlined by their trademark breakneck speed and intense live shows, which has been quickly turning heads in the UK underground.

Today today the band have offered up a brand new single, the closing track from the record ‘Samsara’, and have accompanied the release with a guitar playthrough from Alex Brown which clearly demonstrates their technical prowess.

Guitarist Alex Brown comments, “We are delighted to announce our union with Hostile Media for the release of our first offering. This year has been great for us and we’d like to thank them for their faith in what we do and for helping us step up to the next level. From the start of the writing process for Archaic Malevolence it was always our intention to push ourselves. We wanted to enter uncharted territory and push the boundaries of what we could do technically and creatively. Inspired by modern day juggernauts such as Aborted, The Faceless, Nile and countless others we feel this release is the perfect balance of unrestrained brutality, infectious hooks and sinister melody from the grandiose title track to the crushing weight of ‘Invocation Of Unspeakable Gods’ this release was designed to grab you.”

Archaic Malevolence was produced, mixed and mastered by Wynter Prior while Luciferium War Graphics was responsible for the epic artwork.

Voivod Releases “Target Earth” Music Video

Canadian progressive metal pioneers Voivod have completed a video for their Century Media debut album, “Target Earth.”

The video, created by Italian filmmaker and multimedia artist Nicola Piovesan, was created with 3D Motion Graphics using the visions and artwork of Voivod drummer, Away (Michel Langevin). Check out the video below, courtesy of Metalinjection.net.

Here is what Away had to say upon completion of the video: “I met Nicola Piovesan at the Voivod/Unkind show in Helsinki on October 31, 2012. We had a discussion about my 3D Graphics for the album Negatron and Nicola mentioned the possibility of him doing a 3D Motion video for our new album Target Earth. After viewing his fantastic video for THE CORE by the band ON|OFF|MAN, we knew he was the right person to capture the cyber world of Voivod. To us, the result is simply spectacular!”

New LP "Paintropy" From Mesmerize Expected In Spring 2013

Italian metal act Mesmerize, featuring ex-Time Machine vocalist Folco Orlandini, announced that the band’s fifth album will be entitled “Paintropy.” The mix of the album was recorded at Octopussy Studios last week. “Paintropy” will mark the band’s first full length release in eight years (2005’s “Stainless”).

Guitarist Piero Paravidino commented on the title and concept of the album: “‘Paintropy’ is a word that combines the concepts of ‘Pain’ and ‘Entropy’ and it refers to a chaotic and painful state of mind, coming from the aggregation of negative events or emotions. In turn, this state can cause a reaction of total inertia or the exact opposite, unleashing a downright furious transformation. These concepts will be depicted both in the songs and in the graphics of the album.”

“Paintropy” is expected for release via Punishment 18 Records in the Spring of 2013 when the band will celebrate its 25th Anniversary. A small teaser of the cover can be seen here:

Just last week, Mesmerize released the special vinyl picture disc EP “King of Terror,” which was dedicated to the comic book character Diabolik, created by publisher Astorina. The song originally appeared on the 2002 Dragonheart Records LP “Off The Beaten Path,” and was re-issued with an instrumental version of the track and the unreleased track “Best Place for a Knife” (recorded during the “Stainless” sessions) in celebration of the character’s 50th Anniversary this year. The EP is available now in the standard edition, but a limited number edition of 50 copies will be issued on December 1, 2012, which includes a set of 4 exclusive numbered postcards plus an autographed and numbered videoclip storyboard. More information can be found on the band’s Official website.
