New Concert Film “Paris” Announced By Rammstein

Today, the official pre-sale for the concert film “Rammstein: Paris” begins ahead of the worldwide release on May 19. Get it at this location.

The film, which will be released in many configurations, sets new standards. In March 2012, during the Made in Germany tour, Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund shot two acclaimed Rammstein concerts at the Palais Omnisports arena in Paris in front of 17,000 spectators.

Featuring 22 songs from the band’s entire repertoire, the resulting film is not only the most spectacular collection of imagery about the most successful German rock band of our time, but also a masterpiece of music cinema, capturing Rammstein’s energy as a unique visual and sonic experience.

Åkerlund is notorious for his radical, pioneering video clips for bands such as The Prodigy, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, and also Rammstein. Absurd details, upended perspectives, shocks of contrast, and sensory confusion flicker through his music productions, and in “Rammstein: Paris,” he celebrates this from the very first minute.

Rammstein plays 22 songs (128 minutes), ranging from “Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?,” the first song from the very first album, to “Frühling in Paris” from the last studio album “Liebe ist für alle da.”

Artistically and dramaturgically ingeniously staged, like an overwhelming video clip, “Rammstein: Paris” is one of the best rock concert films of all time. “Absolument.”

Merrimack Wields “Apophatic Weaponry” With New Song Stream

Merrimack is today revealing the first sinister song taken from forthcoming fifth full-length album “Omegaphilia,” which will be released on June 9th, 2017 via Season Of Mist. The pitch-black track “Apophatic Weaponry” can be heard below.

Merrimack comments: “For this song, as on the whole album, we wanted to come back to something more rooted in the 90’s. With a less complex structure, and a sound not as modern and claustrophobic as on our latest albums, ‘Apophatic Weaponry’ still has our characteristic moody atmosphere with some crawling mid-tempos riffs. This is especially noticeable on the second half of the track.

“Our lyrics are dealing with the special connection between beings and their faith, even though it is constructed on a void trying to fill in another vacant space of nothingness. The divine cannot be observed, demonstrated, except by its consequences. In the end, this is the definition of faith as opposed to reason. This concept of negative theology is a mystical approach towards the divine that attempts to describe it through the impossibility of describing it. Eckhart. Jacob Böhme and most of the German mystics tried to increase their faith with such notions.”

2. The Falsified Son
3. Apophatic Weaponry
4. Gutters of Pain
5. Sights in the Abysmal Lure
6. Cesspool Coronation
7. At the Vanguard of Deception

Avenged Sevenfold Stagehand Dies After Accident At German Show

Currently out on tour in Europe, Avenged Sevenfold just issued this announcement about one person dying and another being seriously injured during last night’s German show:

“We have some very sad news to report. Last night after our show in Stuttgart, Germany, a 26 year-old stagehand fell from the rafters while breaking down our stage. He fell a very far distance onto a 19 year-old man on the local crew. Tragically, the 19 year-old died from his injuries. The other man is now in critical condition at the hospital.

“This is beyond heartbreaking to everyone in the band and on our crew. We all send our thoughts and prayers to the man in the hospital, both families involved, all of the local Live Nation crew and everyone else whose lives have been affected by this terrible accident.

“We love our crew so much as well as the many local staff who are essential to our show every night wherever we are around the world. This is such a stark reminder of how quickly an accident can happen and lives shattered in the process. When we hear more we will update you.”

Woe Posts New Song “The Din Of The Mourning”

“Hope Attrition” is the impending new full-length album from U.S. black metal collective, Woe.

Composed throughout the end of 2015 and most of 2016, this alarming seven-track offering, the band’s first in four years, will see release next month via Woe’s new label home Vendetta Records.

As a precursor to the album’s impending release, today new track “The Din Of The Mourning” is offered for public consumption and can be heard below.

“‘The Din Of The Mourning’ is the dramatic tale of a system’s inevitable collapse, those who push against progress, and those who exploit fear,” reveals founding guitarist/vocalist Chris Grigg of the tune.

He goes on to say, “It was written over the course of many months, seeing revision after revision, and did not feel finished until we received the guest vocals from Brooks Wilson (Crypt Sermon). I had a rule against performing my own clean vocals on this album but this song demanded a feeling of drama that only Brooks could provide.”

New album “Hope Attrition” will see release this coming March 17th on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats. Woe will bring these warring odes to Europe with German black metal unit Ultha for a stretch of festival dates including an appearance at Roadburn on April 22nd.

Nitrogods Releasing New Album “Roadkill BBQ”

“Roadkill BBQ” is a musical homage to all the dead and living rock gods of Motörhead, Status Quo, and The Who. Rock’n Roll and boogie do not have to be re-invented, they just have to be played properly, say the Nitrogods and the guys do so, like no other band these days.

A good dozen of new songs by the German three-piece are going straight forward and they are unstoppable like a burning freight train without brakes. “Roadkill BBQ” will be available worldwide via Steamhammer / SPV as download, CD, and vinyl editions on May 26th, 2017.

Henny Wolter (guitar, Nitrogods) comments: “We are very proud on our new album. We are so dämn’ close to the bands’ live energy like never before.”
