All Hell Releases “Laid To Unrest” Music Video

The “Grave Alchemist” full-length, a horror concept album that weaves a tale of alchemy, necromancy, and vampirism over the span of three centuries, is due to drop via Prosthetic Records April 14th. As a precursor to its release, today All Hell’s “Laid To Unrest” is unveiled in the form of a video – check it out below.

“As ‘The Grave Alchemist’ is essentially an album in two parts, we felt that Side A (Side Solve) needed to end with what felt like an album closer, thus the nature of ‘Laid To Unrest,'” elaborates vocalist/guitarist Jacob Curwen.

He goes on to say, “Conceptually, this song represents the dissolution of the Alchemist; a temporary state of death analogous to the dark night of the soul, linked to the alchemical processes of Putrefactio and Fermentatio. The Alchemist is struck down for his crimes and buried alive as he utters the Words of his Return. The video takes cues from German Expressionists, particularly Wiene and Murnau, whose silent works, infused with dark and powerful symbolism, have now haunted viewers for nearly a century.”

All Hell will further bring odes of odium to the stage for a short run of live dates this spring, with additional live incursions in the plotting stages.

Exhumed Enters The Recording Studio

California extreme metal crew Exhumed just entered the studio to record a sixth album and follow-up to 2013’s “Necrocracy.” The album will be entitled “Death Revenge” and will see a late 2017 release via Relapse Records.

Issues founding guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey: “We entered the studio April 1st with our buddy Jarrett Pritchard (Gruesome, Goatwhore) to start the process and no, this is not an elaborate April Fool’s joke… ‘All Guts, No Glory’ was more of a straight-up speeding attack, ‘Necrocracy’ had a bit more focus on groove and incorporating some mid-paced stuff in there, and this one is gonna be a lot darker.

“It’s a concept album, which is a first for us, so expect some new twists on our tried-and-true formula: one part late ’80s death metal, half a cup of German/Canadian/Bay Area thrash, a dash of grindcore, crossover, and crust, and the occasional, well-concealed, Hall And Oates rip-off.”

In related news, Exhumed has confirmed a string of European tour dates this June, which include a performance at Hellfest and follow their North American appearances at Modified Ghost Festival II in Vancouver and the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore in May.

Bill Hudson Named New Guitarist Of U.D.O.

After recently splitting with guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen, German based U.D.O. (featuring legendary ex-Accept vocalist Udo Dirkschneider) tapped T.S.O./Circle II Circle guitarist Bill Hudson as his replacement.

The announcement reads: “We are very proud to announce that Mr. Bill Hudson from Brazil is the new guitarist of Dirkschneider/U.D.O.!

“Bill is based in the United States, but has already been in Pulheim a few weeks ago to join the songwriting session for our next album which we will start recording soon.

“Bill fits in, in every way, perfectly with us and builds a fantastic guitar team together with Andrey Smirnov. He is very experienced and has shared the stage with several known bands, most notably Circle II Circle, Jon Oliva’s Pain and TSO for the last few years. It’s not really necessary to talk about his skills, simply check it out on our next tour and you will see what we’re talking about!

“After Kasperi left the band we have received many suggestions and applications from great guitar players from all over the planet. At the same time, we started getting hints from different and unrelated people in the business pointing straight into the same direction, telling us to check out this Brazilian/American guy. Once in Germany he convinced everybody from the get go and it was very clear that this guy had all the requirements to become the new band member.
We are REALLY looking forward to kick ass even more so than ever before!”

Equilibrium Posts Asian Tour Video Diary

German epic metal band Equilibrium released current studio album “Armageddon” last year on August 12th, 2016 through Nuclear Blast. Once more, the band entered the European charts on high positions (#5 Germany, #11 Switzerland, #20 Austria).

Equilibrium and support act Suidakra subsequently went on a tour journey to Asia, and even though most of the band’s lyrics are in German, Equilbirum succeeded in enthusing hundreds of fans and to provide a remarkabe atmosphere in several cities of China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong), Taiwan (Taipei) and Japan (Tokyo and Osaka).

Check out a tour diary below showcasing some of the best moments from this trek. René (guitars) comments: “Our first tour in Asia was one of the most impressing experiences we’ve ever had with Equilibrium. This video is a small collection of footage we’ve made with our smartphones at the tour. We really hope to see Asia again soon!”
