Many words come to mind when you hear the name Cannibal Corpse, but one truly defines the soon-to-be thirty-year death metal veterans: Unstoppable. Produced by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Goatwhore), their latest album, Red Before Black, serves to not only reiterate this but to once more raise the stakes, making it very clear who sets the standard when it comes to always compelling music that is equally brutal and complex. Moreover, the band have pushed themselves again, ensuring that it stands out from their catalog. “Throughout our career we’ve tried to improve the precision of both our musical execution and our album production, while still maintaining full-on aggression. ‘Red Before Black‘ continues in that direction, but might go even further on the aggressive side of things. It’s definitely precise, but it has a rawness to it that goes beyond anything we’ve done recently,” asserts bassist Alex Webster. “We really worked super hard crafting these songs, practicing them, and getting them where we wanted to be more so than on any of our previous albums,” adds drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz. “And as Alex said, musically I think it’s the most raw sound we’ve had – and at the same time I think it’s our most focused, tightest and catchiest record.”

On September 23rd, melodic death metal outfit Allegaeon will be releasing their fourth full-length, Proponent for Sentience, via Metal Blade Records. BATTLECROSS confirmed to support IN FLAMES on tour in 2013!

– December 5th, 2012 –

“The Growing Pains” headlining December tour kicks off Saturday!

Detroit, MI’s BATTLECROSS, one of 2012′s break-out metal acts, will continue their live campaign in support of their debut full-length, Pursuit of Honor, in 2013. The first leg of the tour, which also includes support from Demon Hunter, and All Shall Perish, will begin on February 2nd in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and runs through February 16th. The second leg of the tour will be announced shortly. Confirmed shows can be seen below, along with BATTLECROSS’s December headlining tour with Metal Blade Records label mates, Abiotic.

BATTLECROSS guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala comments on the tour: “Wow! So stoked to hit the road with all these great bands – In Flames, Demon Hunter and All Shall Perish. Last year was good to us and looks like next year is even better for Battlecross. This will be a nice break from working on new material and we can’t wait to see some new and old faces! Once again very humbled and honored to be a part of a great tour! See you all soon!” Vocalist Kyle “Gumby” Gunther adds: “We hope that fans will come party with us on the Growing Pains tour with Abiotic that starts next week so they can prepare for the heavy metal onslaught that will come their way in February!”

BATTLECROSS recently celebrated 52 straight weeks with the debut of ‘Man of Stone’ at #5 on the SiriusXM Liquid Metal Charts, following ‘Breaking You,’ and their first single ‘Push Pull Destroy’, which spent five weeks at #1. The channel also premiered the band’s studio version of Pantera’s Hostile that thrashed audiences on this summer’s Trespass America Festival. The single for ‘Hostile’ is now available on iTunes and the track can be preview and purchased HERE. The band’s debut album, Pursuit of Honor, is available now. Listen and order at www.metalblade.com/battlecross.

“face-meltingly awesome” Decibel Magazine

“[Breaking You] is one of the fastest, leanest, thrashiest cuts of meat this album has to offer and represents BATTLECROSS at their heaviest and most unique” MetalSucks.net

“Ugly, intense, and dated in that perfect way, the riffs are ferocious and widdly, and the singing is growly. Brings to mind old Exodus and death metal bands like Morbid Angel. Magnificent.” Detroit’s Metro Times
