Avantasia Posts Second “Moonglow” Album Trailer

Avantasia, the all-star rock opera spaceship piloted by Edguy singer, songwriter and producer Tobias Sammet, release their eighth full-length album, “Moonglow,” via Nuclear Blast Records on February 15th. The new 11 track album sees Sammet reunited with some familiar faces from previous Avantasia albums. Guests include original Queensryche lead singer Geoff Tate, Pretty Maids frontman Ronnie Atkins, Michael Kiske of Helloween, Jørn Lande (ex-Masterplan), Eric Martin (MR BIG) and Magnum’s Bob Catley. Moonglow also introduces new collaborators Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian, Kreator’s Mille Petrozza and Blackmore’s Night frontwoman Candice Night in a truly spectacular fashion.

Today, Avantasia release the second (of three) interview trailers, in which Tobias Sammet talks about the guest musicians on “Moonglow” and explains why he chose each of them for his songs.

New LP “Frequency Unknown” Pulled By Geoff Tate’s Queensryche After Singer Hears It

Geoff Tate has pulled the upcoming “Frequency Unknown” LP from his version of Queensryche, which consists of the singer and guest musicians. The album is due out later this month through Cleopatra Records, but could be delayed due to what was termed as “sound problems.” Apparently, after the album was pressed and packaged for release, the disgruntled singer finally listened to it and was not satisfied at all with what he heard. Employing the services of a new producer/engineer, Tate hopes to correct what now has been dubbed “soundryche” without having to re-record his vocal tracks. The band’s former producer indicated that he was just following the direction indicated through the album’s literal title and had no idea there was any “hidden message” to the “other Queensryche.”

In what can only be deemed as an “odd coincidence,” the album was pulled just after Scott Rockenfield’s Queenryche, featuring Todd La Torre on vocals, released the new track “Redemption,” from the band’s upcoming, yet untitled album, due out on June 10, 2013 (EU) and June 11, 2013 (North America).

Preview Clip Of New Song “Redemption” Streaming From Queensryche

Queensryche is streaming a preview snippet of the new track “Redemption.” The song will appear on the band’s yet untitled new album, which is targeted for release in 2013. The album is the first to feature new vocalist Todd LaTorre, who replaced the outgoing Geoff Tate in a highly publicized split last summer.

Earlier this month, LaTorre resigned from Florida power/progressive act Crimson Glory stating: “Crimson Glory was the catalyst that exposed me to the world as an undiscovered vocalist, and I am very thankful to them. Special thanks also to the amazing fans for their acceptance and support of not only Crimson Glory, but their continued support to me as an artist. Lastly, I sincerely wish my friends in Crimson Glory the absolute very best, both personally and professionally.”

Check out “Redemption” here:

In addition, LaTorre posted a clip of a new track called “Stardust,” which is a raw demo of a track to appear on a forthcoming solo album, which is still in the writing phase. Check it out here:

First Trailer For La Torre Era Queensryche Posted

Seattle based progressive rock/metal act Queensyrche posted up the first trailer for the upcoming new album and first of the Todd La Torre era. La Torre replaced former vocalist Geoff Tate after a string of bizarre events leading up to his dismissal resulting in the ongoing legal action with his former members.

In a recent post on Facebook La Torre described the new material, which is expected for release in the first half of 2013, as follows: “Trust me, you will hear a severe difference in sound, style, and writing in the new Queensryche record as compared to the last several albums.”
