For a preview of the album, the title track can be heard at: youtube.com/watch?v=dMcmsXZX1v8

Combining grinding death metal with a modern approach and high musicianship, yet always with key focus on brutality, these Swedes are notorious for bringing the gore wherever they go. With their new album, Wherever They May Rot, Cut Up has reached a whole new level of brutality. Guitarist/vocalist Andreas Bjornson comments: “‘Wherever They May Rot‘ is an utter bloodbath from start to finish. We have managed to push the savagery even further than before, also broadening our sound without compromising one inch of aggression. Everyone has performed at the top of their game and the new songs are without a doubt the strongest we’ve ever created, reaching new heights in both speed and heaviness. We have sharpened our blades and the thirst for blood is unquenchable. The year of 2017 belongs to Cut Up!”

Cut Up launches new video for “Vermin Funeral”

– March 6th, 2017 –

On March 24th, Cut Up will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Wherever They May Rot, worldwide via Metal Blade Records! Just as brutal as its predecessor, 2015′s Forensic Nightmares, Wherever They May Rot offers a rougher edge and is catchier overall. For a preview of the album, a bloody video for the new single, “Vermin Funeral”, can be viewed at: youtube.com/watch?v=8VqsosGM-3c

Cut Up‘s Anders Bertilsson (guitar) comments: “Inspiration for your arbitrary funerary rites arrives in the form of our new video. Shot in a cold, filthy, suitably depressing environment the video perfectly illustrates the scorching mid-tempo concentration of pure aggression that is ‘Vermin Funeral’. Thanks to the camera work and acting by the Arvika crew, we can now present you with this murderous cinematic experience. Watch as one by one is hunted down and hammered into the tomb. Get this and 10 more killing anthems with ‘Wherever They May Rot‘, out March 24th worldwide on Metal Blade Records!”

Weapons of Anew will make its live debut touring with Alter Bridge and special guest Nonpoint during “The Last Hero” tour from January 24th through February 14th, 2017.

Upon confirmation of the tour, Weapon’s of Anew guitarist Freddy Ordine said, “It’s truly an honor! I’m excited for guitarists that are into this type of music. It’s really going to be a shred fest – all the band’s have really great players in them.”

“As a singer,” Ray West stated, “I think that Myles Kennedy and Elias Soriano are both at the top of their game, so I have great respect for both bands. It’s safe to say the bar is set very high for us and I live for that! I consider playing a live show with both bands a privilege.”

When asked what it means to perform live, Ordine states, “Pure energy!!! It’s better than any other feeling I know.” West puts it this way, “an intense energy that compares to nothing else!”

Late last year, Weapons of Anew released debut single and video “Killshot” via OK!Good Records. The band members are psyched to have people hear Weapons of Anew music, with West further commenting “We are a solid unit, packed into a big ole can of whoop ass!”

Anthrax Posts “Suzerain” Lyric Video

“Suzerain,” an intense and politically-charged track from Anthrax’s “For All Kings” album, consists of lyricist Scott Ian’s musings about a leader who would be so powerful that all nations, all people, would come under his benevolent authority, and in return, he would bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all of Earth.

“Mankind keep making the same mistakes over and over,” said Ian. “You’d think that after thousands of years of religious, economic and ideologic wars, we’d have figured out how to live with each other, but we haven’t. That’s what drew me to the idea for ‘Suzerain.'”

The “Suzerain” video incorporates the game of chess along with images of battles fought by ancient empires to illustrate imperial power. You can check out the new lyric clip below.

Anthrax will hit the road in 2017 first with an appearance at the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, and then will launch the “Among The Kings” tour, starting with a 26-date UK/European trek seguing into the band’s North American co-headline tour with Killswitch Engage, dubbed “Killthrax.”

EyeHateGod Taps Randy Blythe For Fall Tour Dates With Discharge

Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe will be filling in for EyeHateGod vocalist Mike IX Williams on the group’s upcoming fall tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust. Elaborates Williams of the decision:

“Once again, rather than cancel an amazing tour, we have chosen for EyeHateGod to continue on and give one-thousand-percent. This 2016 Discharge tour is super important to me as that band has been a huge influence on my life, but my health situation right now dictates that I am not able to take the stage and perform to the best of my abilities every single night.

“This is where our good friend Randy Blythe from Lamb Of God comes into the picture. We’ve known Randall since the early ’90s when EyeHateGod would pass through Virginia and he’d offer for us to crash at his crib after our gigs. Great times and we became great friends.

“To have Mr. Blythe on board as a fill in for me on vocals for this run is a true ‘circle-stays-unbroken’ turn of events! Coming off the heels of Philip Anselmo doing vocals for EyeHateGod on two high profile shows [last month’s performances at Southport Music Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 2016 edition of Gwar BQ in Richmond, Virginia respectively], both of these men are at the top of their game. I am getting the medical help I need and will return to the band as soon as possible. Thank you, everybody… “

Adds Blythe, “Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a massive EyeHateGod fan. I’ve seen them play more times than I can remember, my old side project covered ‘Dixie Whiskey’ for an EyeHateGod tribute album, I wear their merch, I even have a freaking EyeHateGod tattoo that I got in New Orleans. They are one of my favorite bands of all time, period. I’ve also been friends with the guys in the band since the ’90s… actually, I knew them before I knew the dudes in my own band, and EyeHateGod would often crash at my crib when they came through Richmond.

“So it’s a bit dif?cult for me to say, ‘I’m super-happy that I’ve been asked to ?ll in for Mike IX Williams on this upcoming tour with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust.’ In fact, I can’t honestly say that at all because, once again as a fan and, more importantly, a friend, no one would rather see Mike do this tour more than myself. Mike IX is THE voice of EyeHateGod, and I respect him as a friend, musician, and writer way too much to ever think otherwise. What I can say is that I am beyond honored to be serving a brief tour of duty on vocals with EyeHateGod for this upcoming run.

“When I was asked to fill in for Mike IX due to his health issues, I immediately said, ‘I’ll do it, as long as all of the guys in the band are cool with it, especially Mike; it can’t be any other way.’ I know from talking to him that Mike is very, very bummed to not be on this tour, especially given the fact that the legendary Discharge is one of his all-time favorite bands. In light of that fact alone, it’s a huge testament to the man’s character that he’s being gracious enough to let the band continue to work while he concentrates on his medical issues, which are entirely legitimate and prevent him from taking the stage night after night. The other guys need to keep the band alive while IX gets better.

“As anyone who has ever seen the band can attest, the stage of an EyeHateGod show isn’t exactly the ideal place to rest and recuperate from an illness, and that is the most important thing here: that Mike IX gets better. In order to both give him the time to take care of his health while simultaneously keeping EyeHateGod an active working unit, I’ll be proud to do my bit on this tour and take the stage with what is undeniably one of the heaviest bands on earth. It will be a savage experience; I can promise you that. Let the down-to-earth-motherfuckin’-post-amplification-blues begin! Hail Mike IX.”

EyeHateGod’s journey with Discharge and Toxic Holocaust will commence on October 6th and run through October 15th trampling ten cities in seven states, the tour concluding with a one-off show in Chicago with Negative Approach and Svlphvrvs. See all confirmed dates below.

Slain Coming To Xbox One / PS4 This Fall

After releasing on PC through Steam back in May, the heavy metal themed game “Slain” is now slated to land on consoles.

“Slain: Back from Hell” is coming to PlayStation 4 on September 13th and Xbox One on October 5th.

In the game you control the fate of Bathoryn, a doomed hero in a Gothic world, who seeks to liberate six cursed realms from six deadly overlords. He must battle his way through this blighted land, packed with gruesome pixel art foes before ascending into a stronghold, all the while defeating fiendish traps and vile monsters alike.

At the heart of every domain Bathoryn will confront a mighty foe – defeat it and his quest continues to its ultimate destiny. Fail, and you’ll die gruesomely – mauled by werewolves, disintegrated by floating monstrosities, squashed by great weights or torn apart by hidden blades. And you will fail…

“Slain” is accompanied by heavy metal visuals and features an even heavier metal soundtrack recorded by Curt Victor Bryant (formally of Celtic Frost).
