Amon Amarth Reveal Own Mobile Video Game “Amon Amarth”

Amon Amarth have released their own mobile video game titled ‘Amon Amarth‘. The game is available now through the this location. The retro themed video game was developed in partnership with Ride & Crash Games AB.

Watch the trailer for it below.

“The Game. You are Thor and your mission is simple: cleanse Midgard from all of the vile creatures that are threatening the (*ahem*) peaceful Viking way of life. There are three keys to ensure your success:

(1) your hammer, Mjolnir;
(2) your control of the freakin’ thunder and lightning!
(3) your fighting spirit is always high thanks to Amon Amarth‘s epic music in retro style blasting from over the horizons and into your ears.

The unique game features four worlds, four epic battles, 12 unique levels and 13 different Amon Amarth tracks with retro video game sounds!

The game is available worldwide to the public for iOS and Android Phones and Tablets for a retail price of $8.99. This link redirects the mobile or tablet user to their correct App Store:

The idea for the game was conceived in the fall of 2015 when Robert Chirico Willstedt, a video game producer in Stockholm and founder of Ride & Crash Games AB, met Amon Amarth. Robert and the band bonded over epic amounts of beer and a common love of video games, and they started discussing how cool it would be if they could create a video game for Amon Amarth.

There and then, the idea was born of a retro style Viking platformer with Amon Amarth music in ’80s sounding square wave format. Robert hand-picked a team of developers and designers to realize the game concept. The band met the development team continuously during the development process to ensure the end product would stay true to the initial vision of the game. This is an authentic Amon Amarth product.

Grab Mjolnir. Blast Amon Amarth. Save Midgard.”

The Black Dahlia Murder releases new album, ‘Nightbringers’, today

– October 6th, 2017 –

Exclusive interview with front-man Trevor Strnad (written by Kim Kelly) now online via metalblade.com/tbdm; North American tour kicks off today

Today (October 6th), The Black Dahlia Murder has released their eighth full-length, Nightbringers, via Metal Blade Records. To preview and purchase the album, please visit: metalblade.com/tbdm – where an exclusive interview with front-man Trevor Strnad (written by Kim Kelly) can also be viewed. Read on for some reviews of the critically acclaimed Nightbringers:

‘Nightbringers’ is the album of the year.” – MetalSucks.net

‘Nightbringers’ makes for one of the band’s best records… if not their best.” – MetalInjection.net

…’Nightbringers’ is without a doubt the band’s best release since their 2007 breakthrough.” – NoCleanSinging.com

While the Black Dahlia Murder have always been an impressive band, ‘Nightbringers’ finds them on top of their game and performing better than ever before.” – Exclaim.ca

Rather than meticulously plan things out or stick rigidly to any kind of template, when it comes to writing, The Black Dahlia Murder prefer to let things happen organically. In the hands of guitarist Brian Eschbach – who co-founded the band with front-man Trevor Strnad in 2001 – and new recruit Brandon Ellis (Arsis, ex-Cannabis Corpse), Nightbringers is rich with dynamic riffs that are at once fresh and classic The Black Dahlia Murder, resulting in a collection that shifts through many moods and effortlessly incorporates various elements of extreme metal. While Strnad explores a variety of themes and ideas with his lyrics, they are united by the album’s title, which embraces a tenet that has been central to The Black Dahlia Murder‘s output since the very beginning. “Death metal and nighttime are synonymous to me,” Strnad explains. “We are the rulers of the darkened hours that the Christian good fears. A lot of archaic ideas that are still upheld – such as marriage and monogamy – came from Christianity, whether people want to acknowledge it or not, and to me, death metal has always been bucking that. It’s ‘being-the-villain music’, because we’re the enemy of Christianity, the enemy of all that is good and traditional. Death metal is for free thinkers, it’s for showing people the path to inner strength and operating on your own will, instead of being told what to do and living in fear, and songs like the title track and ‘Kings Of The Nightworld’ are about leading a legion of awakened minds into battle.

Antigama Working On Album And “Depressant” EP

Antigama just checked in with this update about working on both a new album and an EP release:

“We’ve got a message for you! Antigama is still in the process of making a new album which will be recorded in early 2018. In the meantime we’re going to the studio to make a new EP!

“The session will begin next week at JNS Studio with Pawel ‘Janos’ Grabowski (who else?) on the mixing board. ‘Depressant’ – this is the name of the game. We can’t wait to show you some of our best work we’ve ever done (in our opinion of course).

“The new tracks are wickedly fast, extreme and discordant at the same time. ‘Depressant’ will be available this fall through Selfmadegod Records on CD/Vinyl/Digital formats. The gigs will follow as well. More news/reports/bits of new music in the upcoming days. Stay tuned. End of transmission.”

Wormholedeath Signs Licensing Deal With Helvetestromb

Wormholedeath Records is proud to announce that Swedish black metal act Helvetestromb has signed a licensing deal for the worldwide release of the album “Demonic Excrements Cursed With Life.”

Helvetestromb was formed in 2010 then under the name Skoll. During a drinking binge, three of the original four members (Sebastian “Überführer ov Sadistik Violations” Messa, Tom “Grym Ejakulator” Ahlqvist and Axel “(Piss and) Shitlord” Sjöberg) contemplated over how awesome it would be to play music similar to what they loved to listen to. The idea was formed to make punk inspired black metal you’d want to bang your head and mosh to. Next day, the soon to be vocalist (Jesper “Anal Desekrator” Tennemo) was informed that he was now in a band and it was time to start rehearsing.

The following years came with a few accomplishments and some setbacks, as drummer Hjalmar “Lord Necrofleshcunt” Klitse Kyrö was in the band, but let go sometime later. After some serious issues within the band, rhythm guitarist Axel left the band in the summer of 2014. This allowed the remaining members to step up the game. In addition, the band’s sound evolved more and more adding thrash and heavy metal power surges. By the summer of 2014, the first professionally recorded tracks came out as an EP released on cassette entitled “Helvetestromb” (“Hell Tornado”).

During the recording of the first full-length album in 2016, Skoll finally changed name to Helvetestromb. The band had crystallized into a solid power-trio with a united ambition to create a shitstorm of fast, raw and punkish metal in opposition to the modern metal scene, mixing everything they love about metal into one unrelenting, leather-clad creation of blasphemy.

The track listing for the album is:

1. Tempesta di Merda (A legion of Jesus Christs)
2. Restless Satan
3. Skitberget
4. Holy Christian Airstrike
5. The Demon Bell
6. Kloakerna under Hel
7. Bog of Eternal Stench
8. Warmongo
9. Tormentive Retribution
10. Sifting Excrements (Through the Teeth)
11. Morningstar:Whore crusher

Bison Machine Signs With Small Stone Records

Michigan heavy rockers Bison Machine just signed to Small Stone Records. The Hamtramck-based volume dealers have been on a this-time-it’s-personal quest to hand-deliver riffs across the country since the 2015 release of debut album, “Hoarfrost.”

Now this hungry group is ready to take the game to the next level, preparing a new album for release later this year. Bison Machine will enter Rustbelt Studios (Five Horse Johnson, Halfway to Gone, Novadriver) later this summer to record.

“It’s amazing,” enthuses Bison Machine bassist Anthony Franchina about the signing. “Small Stone has released some of my favorite records, from Sasquatch to Greenleaf to Lo-Pan, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Scott [Hamilton] on our next record, which is going to completely blow away everything we’ve done before. We’ll be hitting the road too, so keep an eye out!”

“I can’t wait to hear what Bison Machine brings to this next record,” says Scott Hamilton of Small Stone Records. “They’ve been unstoppable on tour for the last couple years and I’m thrilled to welcome them into the Small Stone fold representing the next generation of great American heavy rock and roll.”

Iron Maiden Adds “Book Of Souls” Arena To Mobile Game

Iron Maiden embarks on the final leg of “The Book of Souls” world tour this weekend, simultaneously launching a synergistic player-vs-player battle arena for the band’s mobile game, “Legacy of the Beast” (reivewed here).

The game offers players a unique way to interact with Iron Maiden’s real world activities by introducing not only a replica of one of the tour stage productions, but also the debut of “The Book of Souls” version of Shaman Eddie into the game, in his Mayan themed incarnation as featured on the band’s most recent studio album. Other characters from “The Book of Souls” are set to follow.

“Legacy of the Beast” is a definitive experience in the mobile RPG space – taking players on an unparalleled, epic, ever-expanding, strategic gaming journey via their smartphones & tablets. Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood says:

“With ‘Legacy of the Beast’ we wanted to create something that appealed both to fans of Maiden music and gamers alike, wherever they are in the world, and I think we are well on our way to accomplishing that. The game has kept true to the band’s history and development not only through their music but with Eddie too. This latest feature focused around our current tour is only the start of many new and exciting innovations we have planned to keep Legacy evolving and becoming even more addictive!”

Adds Llexi Leon, Interactive Creative Director of Phantom Music Management “The towering Mayan set piece of ‘The Book of Souls’ world tour presented an ideal opportunity to expand the game and create a virtual event space to complement the band’s live show – whether you’re seeing Iron Maiden on the road or playing Legacy of the Beast on your mobile, we’ve crafted a gaming experience that explores the Mayan world of The Book of Souls record and marks the first of many timed in-game events that will enrich the band’s touring activity, engaging fans old and new across the globe in a way never before possible.”
