Evoken Premiere New Song “Valorous Consternation” From Upcoming New Album “Hypnagogia”

Hypnagogia is the impending new full-length from iconic death/funeral doom unit EVOKEN. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Sound Spa Studios in New Jersey by Steven DeAcutis, the crushing offering marks the band’s first new output in six long years and comes swathed in the artwork of Adam Burke (Artificial Brain, Mos Generator, Hooded Menace).

Lychgate Premiere New Track “Republic”

Black metal unit Lychgate have released another haunting new track off their new album, “The Contagion in Nine Steps”. The track, a sprawling take on the band’s trademark black metal/funeral doom crossover titled “Republic” is streaming below.

Regarding “Republic”, Lychgate guitarist Vortigern states:

“‘Republic’ is the intro track of the album. Organ introduces a rhythmic/percussive motif which continues throughout, ending in a frenzied conclusion as the track draws to an end. Lyrically it also sets the stage for the album’s idea of the contagion and the crowd throughout history, beginning here with Plato”

Sektarism Announces New Album “La Mort de l’Infidèle”

Today, Zanjeer Zani Productions sets May 19th as the international release date for Sektarism’s second album, “La Mort de l’Infidèle.”

A cavernous prayer laid in darkness by a strangled voice: this is what Sektarism has been for the last 12 years. Formed in 2005 by eminent members of the Apostles of Ignominy brotherhood, the drone/funeral doom congregation has since spawned its incantations over the French and international underground.

Skepticism Posts Full “Ordeal” Album Online

Today the funeral doom pioneers from Skepticism stream full new album “Ordeal” – set for international release on September 18 via Svart Records.

Skepticism is hailed as one of the originators of funeral doom and this first album for Svart (fifth album overall) is also the band’s first full-length since 2008’s “Alloy.” Instead of going the usual recording-in-the-studio route, the band decided to record this new album live before an audience on January 24 at Klubi in Turku, Finland, with the event also captured on film.
