Polarization Parts Ways With Drummer Tom Asvold

Los Angeles based act Polarization has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band’s drummer:

“We regret to inform you all that after years of hard work, touring, writing, recording and being an amazing friend, our drummer Tom Asvold has been forced to return to his homeland of Skärvången, Jämtlands Län, Sweden.

“This WILL NOT affect any of our shows/tour plans we have coming this winter/next year as we have been aware of this situation for quite some time now, and have found an amazing ‘fill in’ for Tom, who we can’t wait for you all to meet. More info on that later.

Guitarist David Ellenburg Passes Away

Dogbane has issued the following statement following the passing of guitarist David Ellenburg yesterday:

“It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dogbane guitarist David Ellenburg. David peacefully passed away, surrounded by family and close friends, on Monday, July 30th, due to complications of a severe stroke he had suffered the previous week. Dave was a great many things to a lot of people – a husband, a father, and a creative force behind Dogbane. Most importantly, he was our friend. Nevertheless, Dogbane will eventually continue to forge ahead in his honor, as we feel this is what he would have wanted. We ask everyone to please respect the privacy of his family and the band, as we try to cope during this very difficult time.”

Badfare State Finishes New EP "Socially Dead," Seeking Label

Spanish crossover thrash act Badfare State has announces the band has finished recording the “Socially Dead” EP, which consists four tracks that blend old school thrash metal, hardcore/punk, heavy metal, and rock.

The band now is searching for a record label to release the EP, as well as a bassist and second guitarist to complete the line up. To check out Badfare State’s music, visit the band’s MySpace page at this location. Badfare State’s bio reads as follows:

“Badfare State was formed at the end of 2010 when Rojas (drummer in the goregrind band Haemorrhage and the death/grind act Greenfly) told his friend Chiky (that played guitar in early thrash/death/grind bands from the Spanish scene like Estertor and Conato De Violencia) about to start a band that were a bit of a comeback to musical roots from both (heavy metal, thrash metal, hardcore/punk, hard rock…) taking the spirit and attitude of the first extreme bands from early 80’s. After some months of rehearsing and composition they decided to record a 4 tracks debut EP, asking to their friend Sordeath (vocalist in the punk/rock outfit Twentyyearsold where Rojas played drums too) about to join the band, and he did. During the summer of 2011 the recording of the four tracks was done, ‘Socially Dead’ is the name of Badfare State debut EP, a blend between vintage metal, old school hc/punk and rock, with lyrics that deal about the misery and decay of civilization and humanity.”
