Anathema Announces North American Summer Tour Dates

Anathema, which recently revealed the new song “Springfield” (streaming here) from the band’s forthcoming album “The Optimist” (June 9th, Kscope), is now thrilled to announce first North American dates since 2014.

The nine dates, which kick off on August 16th in Baltimore, include stops in New York, Chicago and a trio of Canadian dates. Tickets will be available this Friday the 21st.

“Touring the U.S. and Canada is always a fantastic privilege,” said guitar player Daniel Cavanagh. “These countries have been the birthplace of some of the most revered recording artists of all time. We are delighted to visit the east coast and we promise to visit the west coast, following up soon. Our new album, The Optimist, is set in America. It will be a blast! “

Anathema recorded “The Optimist” in the winter of 2016 at Attica Audio in Donegal, Ireland and then finished at Castle Of Doom studios in Glasgow with producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Super Furry Animals) at the helm. Mastering was handled at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

Necrowretch Posts Full “Satanic Slavery” Album Stream

Necrowretch is now streaming new album “Satanic Slavery” in full ahead of this Friday’s April 14th release date via Season Of Mist. Regarding the album, guitarist and vocalist Vlad comments:

“Dear sinners! After three months of intense preaching, the time has come to unleash the entirety of our most dreadful offer: ‘Satanic Slavery.’ Today marks the day, on which we unleash a beast that we cannot contain anymore, a beast which incarnates a vision of extreme metal from whence we have never drifted. Sykosis Releasing New Album “Drowning In Silence”

Ohio’s own Sykosis is set to release a third full-length album, and first with new vocalist Chris Grande, later this week. “Drowning In Silence” will see official release on Friday, April 7th digitally and Friday, April 21st on CD via Ferocious Records. Cradle Of Filth is pleased to announce the band will be playing a special one-off festival warmup show in Portsmouth. The show will take place at Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms on June 23rd, 2017.

Anthrax Posts “Vice Of The People” Bonus Track

Anthrax’s “‘For All Kings” limited edition 7-inch box set hits stores this Friday 3/24 via Megaforce, and the band has just made a new track from the set available. Check out “Vice of the People” via Soundcloud here, which was previously released as a bonus track only in Japan.

The week before “KillThrax” – the Anthrax/Killswitch Engage co-headline tour – kicks off in Montclair, NJ, Anthrax’s Charlie Benante will be the special guest drummer sitting in with The 8G Band (“Late Night with Seth Meyers” house band) starting Monday, March 20th through Thursday, March 23rd.

Then, the day before the “KillThrax” launch, members of Anthrax will celebrate the release of the band’s very own craft beer, Wardance, with a five-bar New York City beer crawl that will begin at 6PM at Daddy-O on Bedford Street in the West Village. Fans are invited to any and all of the five destinations to enjoy a few pints of the Wardance pale ale with band members.

Lòdz Releases “Time Doesn’t Heal Anything” Music Video

French post-metal collective Lòdz just shared a new music video for the title track off newly announced second album “Time Doesn’t Heal Anything,” which is set for release this Friday via Klonosphere Records/Season of Mist.

The video was filmed and directed by Mehdi Kadjouj – check it out below. Recorded by Fabrice Boy and mastered by Nick Zampiello (Caspian, Cave In, Converge, Isis), “Time Doesn’t Heal Anything” followsthe band’s debut effort “Something In Us Died” released in 2013 and once again sees the Lyon-based quartet exploring a dark, melancholic and emotionally intense sound that will be familiar to fans of Cult Of Luna, Katatonia, and Ghost Brigade.
