Tactus Posts “Colossus” Guitar Playthrough

After unleashing debut full-length album “Bending Light” on October 7th, the Fredericton, New Brunswick five piece progressive metal band just dropped a “Colossus” guitar playthrough video.

The Apex Kicking Off Canadian Tour Dates

Windsor, ON ghetto tech metal band The Apex will be hitting the road for an Eastern Canadian tour across Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes supporting Erimha and Killitorous from November 18 to December 7, 2015.

The Apex drummer Tyson Taylor comments: “We look forward to hitting the road again! Touring is our favourite part of being in a band and it’s going to be awesome to make new friends and fans plus share the stage with Erimha and Killitorous!”

Where Giants Once Stood Announces New Tour Dates

Toronto, ON’s metalcore quartet Where Giants Once Stood will be embarking on a two week Summer Rumble Tour of Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia with Signifier kicking off August 8th in Belleville, ON.

The tour is in support of upcoming sophomore EP “Live Above,” which was produced by Jon Howard of Threat Signal and is due out on September 2nd to follow up last year’s debut “The Changing.”

Toronto’s Skull Fist will be setting out for the Canadian “Shred The East” tour this month, kicking it off in Ottawa, ON on August 16th.

Orchid’s Curse Announces New Canadian Tour Dates

On the heels of revealing the details on third album “Words,” Orchid’s Curse has now announced a series of dates with Ottawa’s BIIPIIGWAN. The band issued the following statement:

Hero’s Last Rite Releases New Music Video For "I Am Atomic"

Canadian thrash band Hero’s Last Rite, which was covered in a a previous edition of our “Unearthing the Metal Underground” column, has now released a video for “I Am Atomic.” Check out the clip below.

The video was shot in Fredericton, New Brunswick with director Tim Rayne and marks the band’s first official music video. Hero’s Last Rite set two shows in New Brunswick to debut the video, Friday in Moncton and Saturday in Fredericton. Due to technical issues the video could not be shown in the Moncton venue; however the band rigged up a mini showing of the video in the back of its tour van in the parking lot. Fredericton’s showing, with a jam packed venue, went off without a hitch.

Hero’s Last Rite is currently writing and recording for the follow up to the debut release “Inevitable is the End.”

Cauldron Kicking Off Canadian Tour Dates Tonight

Canadian heavy metal trio Cauldron is due to kick off a tour tonight (Thursday, September 22nd) in Quebec City.

The “Canadian Assault” tour starts off with a headlining performance at the opening day of the tenth anniversary edition of the Quebec Metal Fest, before the band continues around the country for six more shows. Cauldron vocalist and bassist Jason Decay comments:

“Last time we hit the Maritimes was in the middle of a blizzard, and we still had some great shows. Hopefully the roads work better this time though. Also looking forward to getting right French again in QC!”

Cauldron has the following upcoming tour dates:
