Fall Of Summer 2017 Adds Septicflesh, Melechesh, And More

The Fall Of Summer 2017 team is excited to reveal four new bands to this year’s impending lineup. The organizers of the fest issued this statement:

“First of all, we’re glad that the Greek symphonic death metal band Septicflesh will celebrate the release of new album, ‘Codex Omega,’ with us at Fall Of Summer. The album will be out on September 1st via the French label Season Of Mist, you’ll have one week to revise before the festival so don’t miss it.

“Here is another event: American death metal pioneers Immolation are back in the Paris area after five years which seemed like a decade. Stronger than ever, they will offer you their mighty riffs and a killer show as always!

“They will be joined by Melechesh. Somewhere between black, death metal and oriental music, these Israelis will provide you with both mysticism and sonic chaos. Last but not least, they haven’t visited France much since their creation, almost 20 years ago, but we are glad to welcome Azarath, proudly led by Inferno, Behemoth’s drummer, who promises you a kickass performance.”

Igorrr launches “The Making of ‘Savage Sinusoid’ [part3]“

– June 13th, 2017 –

On June 16th, Igorrr – the brainchild of French musician and eclectic composer Gautier Serre – will release their new album, Savage Sinusoid, via Metal Blade Records. On this record, electronic manipulations, accordion, saxophone, sitar, harpsichord, mandolin and strings sit comfortably alongside ruthless blastbeats, chunky riffs, death grunts and soaring operatic vocals – and as chaotic as this might sometimes seem, there is no lack of heart behind everything thundering from the speakers. To watch a behind-the-scenes video of the making of Savage Sinusoid, part 3 of the series can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/nLGLPWrfkI4

The previous episodes can be seen below:
–Part 1: https://youtu.be/Yq7_Kax-DwI
–Part 2: https://youtu.be/emJ1l8853pU

For another preview of Savage Sinusoid, the previously released singles, “ieuD” and Cheval” (featuring guest vocals by Cattle Decapitation‘s Travis Ryan!), can also be heard at: metalblade.com/igorrr – where the record can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–Digipak CD
–pale skin clear vinyl (limited to 500 copies)
–cream/white splatter (limited to 200 copies – EU exclusive)
–golden yellow vinyl (limited to 100 copies – Bandcamp exclusive)
–tan-marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies – US exclusive)
*exclusive bundles with a shirt, plus digital options are also available!

Savage Sinusoid track-listing:
1. Viande
2. ieuD
3. Houmous
4. Opus Brain
5. Problème d’émotion
6. Spaghetti Forever
7. Cheval
8. Apopathodiaphulatophobie
9. Va te foutre
10. Robert
11. Au Revoir

To realize Savage Sinusoid as a completely sample-free record, Serre reunited with vocalists Laurent Lunoir and Laure Le Prunenec, along with drummer Sylvain Bouvier, and collaborated with more musicians than on any of his previous releases – one of those guests being Cattle Decapitation‘s Travis Ryan, who lends his vocals on “Cheval”, “Apopathodiaphulatophobie” and “Robert”. “Viande” also sees Teloch (Mayhem) contribute some guitar/bass work, while “Houmous” features accordionists Pierre Mussi and Adam Stacey (the latter of whom is in Secret Chiefs 3 – a project by Mr. Bungle‘s Trey Spruance). While Savage Sinusoid draws from a plethora of genres, Serre has no intention of baffling or alienating potential listeners. As he explains:“I just want to make the music I love, without asking myself if it’s gonna be too complex or too far from what people like. I want to make the music which has sense to me, with no restrictions, like a big party with metalheads, electronics nerds, classical and baroque-heads and gypsy violinists getting drunk and joining together to bring the best of every genre.”

Scour Gearing Up For Rare Live Appearances

Scour – the extreme metal collaboration featuring Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint etc.), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), and Chase Fraser (Continuum, former Animosity, Decrepit Birth) – will bring some scathing odes to the stage next week on a one off show at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York.

That U.S. show takes place before Scour next heads to Clisson, France for a performance at this year’s edition of Hellfest on June 18th.

Scour, which only recently enlisted new drummer Adam Jarvis, has previously played just one show together this past February at One Eyed Jacks in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band released six-track EP debut “The Grey” last year via Anselmo’s own Housecore Records. Catch Scour live:

New Album “Avé” Detailed By Venom Inc., Video For New Single Available

Regardless of your take on black metal forefathers Venom, the band is the undisputed originators of extreme metal as we know it. Almost 40 years after the inception, the revitalized 1989-1992 line-up of guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn, vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and drummer Anthony “Abaddon” Bray have returned with a monster of an album.

After months of anticipation, Venom Inc. will release the upcoming full-length opus, entitled “Avé,” on August 11th via Nuclear Blast. Pre-orders for the new album are available now at this location. The first video/single “Dein Fleisch” can be streamed in the player below.

Venom Inc. was born during an impromptu live set at 2015’s Keep it True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. The on-stage reunion was a rousing success amongst Venom fans and music industry personnel alike, and although it was originally only set up for fun, Dolan began receiving numerous show offers for Venom Inc. from booking agents around the world. What started as a live set to celebrate Venom’s legacy immediately turned into a serious reunion discussion. The rest is history.

While unexpected at the outset, the end result of this reunion is an album that true Venom fans will gladly add to the top of their playlists. Vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan says, “We tried to shape ‘Avé’ so that it comes at you dark, then it gets bright and heavy and just keeps growing into some kind of monster.”

The track listing for the album is:

1. Ave Satanas
2. Forged In Hell
3. Metal We Bleed
4. Dein Fleisch
5. Blood Stained
6. Time To Die
7. The Evil Dead
8. Preacher Man
9. War
10. I Kneel To No God
11. Black N Roll

Going in to writing “Avé,” Venom Inc. realized their live performance was the key to creating an album that would be a metal classic. It was clear that any songs the trio came up with had to have the intensity, the honesty and the aggression that was happening for VENOM INC. in a live situation. Simply put, they needed to translate what they do on stage onto a record. Not once did they look back on the Venom catalogue and think, “We have to write another ‘Black Metal’ or another ‘Schizo’…” The focus is on VENOM INC. and everything the rejuvenated three-piece do in the here and now.

Dolan adds, “Expect 100% pure, honest, solid, hard, dark, thought-provoking metal… like it was, is and forever shall be. Classic old-school, but with the ferocity and energy that we display in our live show. We are proud of this album and our new home at Nuclear Blast, as well as our whole team – management, PR, agents, sponsors and most of all, YOU. Thank you! See you somewhere on this Blood Stained Earth!”

DragonForce enters Billboard charts for new album, ‘Reaching into Infinity’

– May 31st, 2017 –

International metal superstars DragonForce recently released their new album, Reaching Into Infinity, via Metal Blade Records in the USA; for their efforts, the band has now entered the Billboard charts! See below for all positions:

#5 Billboard Hard Music Albums
#12 Billboard Independent Albums
#16 Billboard Rock Albums
#48 Billboard Digital Albums

For their seventh studio album, DragonForce has opened up their sound like never before, capturing the fierce, forlorn and fun with both menace and melody. “I think we have proven that playing fast was something we were good at, so this time I wanted to bring even more diversity into our music,” Frederic Leclercq (bass) comments. “It’s great to challenge ourselves instead of staying in a comfort zone, and I really wanted to experiment with Marc’s vocals. I think people are going to be surprised at his brutality!” The first album to feature Gee Anzalone (drums), the Italian drummer has laid down an impressive performance to provide the perfect backbone to the DragonForce sound, which of course still boasts the band’s trademark insanely-fast solos, courtesy of guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman. Recording the bulk of the album at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden, with producer Jens Bogren, the band also laid down tracks while touring their Killer Elite “best of”-album, utilizing Lamerluser Studios, (London, UK), Dark Lane Studios (Witney, UK), as well as the band’s own Evil1 Studios in Charleville-Mezieres, France and Shredforce One Studios (CA, USA).
