Cytotoxin Posts “Gammageddon” Album Preview

“Gammageddon” is the forthcoming new full-length from Germany’s Chernobyl-themed death bringers, Cytotxin.

Captured earlier this year again at Kohlekeller Studios, “Gammageddon” centers itself on the city of Pripyat, which had grown to a population of nearly fifty-thousand by the time it was evacuated the day after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.

“Gammageddon” serves as a soundtrack to the horrors leading to the evacuation with its unadulterated technical extremity. Check out an album preview below. The album will be released on CD and digital formats via Unique Leader Records on July 21st.

After ten years of membership, Phorgath has decided to leave Enthroned. The band will continue with a new member and looks forward to the forthcoming concerts and recording an eleventh album later this year.

Phorgath comments: “I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Enthroned for doing my part on these four albums and for giving me the opportunity to produce three of them. I will miss being with and travelling the world with the guys. I have only good memories, but it’s time for me and Enthroned to focus on our new projects. Hail Enthroned & The Blackened Horde.”

Enthroned had this to say: ” We’re sad to see Phorgath go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our support for the future. All our best wishes go to Phorgath; may all your future projects go according to your plans!

“The four of us will now continue with a new bass player, who is none other than long-time friend Norgaath, known for his duties within Nightbringer / Coldborn /Grimfaug. We’re looking forward to finishing the composition and starting the recording of the new album with Norgaath and go on the road together.”

Sliptrick Records Signs Sunwalter

The Sunwalter project was launched in Moscow on August 31st, 2008. Originally, the band was defined as melodic black metal, but has since morphed to Sci-Fi Metal with clean female and extreme male vocals, a mix of metalcore, power and modern metal all wrapped up in some truly extra-terrestrial lyrics. The band signed with Sliptrick Records for the forthcoming “Alien Hazard” release.

The band commented: “At a certain point in time the Sunwalter crew was abducted by a group of alien creatures. None of the previous events matter anymore. In their songs they deliver encrypted messages from the deepest space, revealing the secrets of the Universe for the good of Earthmen. Any listener can experience the impact of the Sunwalter space patrons, since the extraterrestrial intelligence supervises the content of all songs.”

Stay tuned for more information soon.

Party Cannon Posts “Soft, White Gelatinous Body” Drum Playthrough

PaRtY-CaNnOn just dropped a drum playthrough for the single “Soft, White, Gelatinous Body,” taken from the forthcoming EP “Perverse Party Platter.” The band’s drummer, Martin ‘Count Blastula’ Gazu, had this to say:

“SWGB was the first song we jammed for the new release. It took fucking ages to get it how we wanted. Drums on this song are Dying Fetus as shit – especially Destroy The Opposition. We tried our best to get the drums sounding as real and live as possible.

“The kick is the only triggered sound. What’s great about the drumming on SWGB is the diversity. There are fast bits with plenty of blast beats as well as groovy bits with huge slams. SWGB represents the style of drumming I love. Please enjoy it!’

New mini-album “Perverse Party Platter” will be available July 7th on Gore House Productions, with pre-orders online here.

Explains vocalist Roman Chekhovsky:

“Lyrically, ‘Guts Out’ is about many of Russian bands, our friends, who quit playing heavy music, because it’s never been popular or brings something in Russia. Never. But I would rather die than sell our guitars and close our practice room, so we keep fighting in the heart of evil. For the metal and hardcore pride.”

Cannabis Corpse Debuts New Song “Chronic Breed” From Forthcoming New Album “Left Hand Pass”

Cannabis Corpse debuts a new song entitled “Chronic Breed”, taken from the forthcoming new album “Left Hand Pass”, which will be released on September 08th through Season Of Mist.

Check out now “Chronic Breed” below.

Comments the band’s vocalist/bassist Phil Hall (also Municipal Waste, Iron Reagan):

“At long last Cannabis Corpse has come out of its weed induced slumber to bring all y’all head bangers out there a new slab of brutal Death metal. This time around we decided to give our new guitarist Ray Suhy a lot more room to add his own unique flavor to the song writing and riffs. We think what has came out is a fresh sound for Cannabis Corpse.”

Adds guitarist Ray Suhy:

“‘Chronic Breed‘ was one of the last songs we wrote for “Left Hand Pass‘. We rewrote this one a couple of times before we got it to flow the way we wanted it. Hallhammer laid down some killer drum parts and Landphil‘s vocals are some of my favorite that he’s ever done. There’s lots of catchy and brutal moments on this record and ‘Chronic Breed‘ is one of my favorites!”
