Onward We March Streaming New Song "Ocean March"

Onward We March has posted the new song “Ocean March” online, which can be heard below. The band also commented on its history:

“Onward We March started off as a living room jam session and has evolved into the force it is now through dedication, perseverance, living the do-it-yourself creed, and serving audiences of the Dallas/Forth Worth area their take on progressive metal. Melding the essence of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal with the progressive styles of Meshuggah, Mastodon, Opeth and The Dillinger Escape Plan, Onward We March has created a sound that stands on its own through its sincerity and brutality.

“Onward We March released their first EP, The Golden Vine, on January 28th, 2011, featuring now-former vocalist Logan Acton. Creative differences with Acton led them to start fresh with Chris Hobbs and take their unique brand of metal to a new level.

“After months of writing new material, Onward We March entered the studio once again with Sterling Winfield (Pantera, Damageplan, Hell Yeah) to record a three song EP titled ‘Ocean Harvest.'”

Arms Of The Sun Announces New Bassist Chris Ivey

Arms of the Sun has announced Chris Ivey will be joining the the band as the replacement for Rex Brown. The band played its first show with Chris Ivey on Forth Worth, Texas last night. Arms of the Sun’s Lance Harvill commented on the lineup change:

“After jamming with and listening to many different bass players from all over the country for the last eight months we are pleased to announce Chris Ivey as Arms Of the Sun’s new bass player.

“His previous band, Early Pearl had just broken up a few months before so it was perfect timing. He’s a killer player who gets our sound and does a great job of nailing Rex’s parts from the album.

“We are really looking forward to getting in the studio with him to work on the new stuff for our second release in 2012. Ivey is an all around great musician and easy dude to get along with and we are stoked to have him onboard.”

Helstar Announces Return Of Bassist Jerry Abarca

Helstar had previously recruited a stand-in bassist for Jerry Abarca, who took a leave of absence. The band has now issued the following announcement about Jerry’s return and gearing up to write a new album:

“Helstar is excited to report that our long-time bassist and brother, Jerry Abarca, will officially return to the stage this week! His first show with us will be this Saturday, September 24th at The Rail Club in Forth Worth, Texas. Jerry will finish out our last two shows of the year in Chicago and Houston in October. The band will then take a break from playing live in order to concentrate on writing new material for our next album.

“Jerry has been seeing specialists for his stomach-related illness and now has his condition under control through medication. Doctors have permitted him to proceed with normal physical activities, although he must still be cautious not to over-exert himself.

“Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our fans for the support and well wishes for Jerry’s recovery. Your kind words and heartfelt messages mean a great deal to the band, Jerry and the Abarca family.”
