Excalion Introduces New Lineup, Posts Teaser Trailer

Finnish melodic metallers Excalion have just announced a new line-up after a few years of silence since last album “High Time.”

The band released a promo video to introduce the new members, giving a sneak-peak to the new songs being prepared for the next album. Excalion also had this to say:

“As you might have noticed, the band has been very silent for the last three years or so. However, now things have changed towards positive and we have found an entirely new gear. Some changes in our lineup were necessary to revive the band and continue as Excalion. We would like to introduce you our new singer Marcus Lång as well as our new guitarist Aleksi Hirvonen.

“There was no bad blood or anything with our previous bandmates Jarmo Pääkkönen and Vesa Nupponen. However, both of them went through some personal changes in their lives and chose not to continue in Excalion.

“What has happened in 2014 was that we firstly recruited Aleksi Hirvonen as the guitarist, knowing his excellent skills as a guitarist and also as a musician. We have been composing and rehearsing new material throughout the year, finding the sound that allows new influences from Aleksi inside the band while still retaining the elements that make Excalion what it is.

“By Autumn 2014 we felt we have the package in balance for finding a new vocalist. We knew it would be an almost impossible task and eventually listed some three singers in Finland that we thought being competent enough to sing in the band. Marcus Lång was a quite natural choice as we have heard his mind-blowing voice and power in Force Majeure as in some cover bands. We contacted him and found out Excalion and Marcus fit perfectly together. We have to say the atmosphere in the band is just perfect.

“Long story short, we have been composing and rehearsing new material with Excalion and we have songs for an album to kick some serious ass. Looking forward seeing you all out there very soon.”
