Sodom To Release New EP, “Partisan” In November

Attention all Sodom fans, there’s exciting news from Tom Angelripper & Co. On the one hand, the band are currently at the studio to record new material, on the other their next shows are scheduled for early September, and the end of November will see the start of their extensive MTV Headbangers Ball Tour 2018 alongside Exodus, Death Angel and Suicidal Angels.

And as if that wasn’t enough great news, the best bit of intelligence comes directly from the thrash metal act’s inner circle…

“We’re a real family again,” enthuses frontman Angelripper following the band’s lineup change in spring 2018. “We all really enjoy the new lineup consisting of Frank Blackfire (guitar, ex-Sodom, ex-Kreator, Assassin), Yorck Segatz (guitar, Beyondition), Husky (drums, Asphyx, Desaster) and myself. There’s a real team spirit again, we’re having a great time together, every one of us is interested in everything and – really important! – everybody is there for everybody else. Obviously that kind of atmosphere is bound to have a positive effect on the songwriting.”

Examples? Sodom’s new Partisan EP will be out in November, featuring three tracks including a live recording from this year’s Rock Hard Festival. The new lineup could hardly present itself in a more impressive manner!

Partisan will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on November 23rd as CD digipak, 10″ clear vinyl, download and stream.

Tracklisting:

1. Partisan
2. Conflagration
3. Tired & Red (Live at the Rock Hard Festival 2018)

Soulwound Release Music Video For “Alone Against All”

Soulwound, the thrash metal band featuring three brothers from Kouvola, Finland, have released a music video for the song “Alone against All” off the band’s second full-length album “No Peace”.

Watch music video below.

The band comments:

“Our previous videos have always featured some symbolic content in addition to footage of the band performing, but this time we decided to go for a really stripped down DIY performance video to accompany the song Alone against All, which is arguably the most “punk” song on the album in its simplistic ferocity. The original idea was to both shoot and edit the video entirely by ourselves, but we soon realized that none of us had the hardware or software to pull it off, so we turned once again to our good friend Tino-Viljami Vanhala for the editing job. We knew we could count on his wizardry, and sure enough, he waved his magic wand over the decidedly crude footage we’d shot and turned it into something far better than we ever could have. So, crack open a beer and join us for a sweaty and oxygen-deprived headbanging party in the cramped basement room where we forge our brand of Finnish metal!”

“No Peace” was released in October 2016 by Inverse Records and is available globally. The band is currently preparing for its last live shows for this year in December and planning to start putting together material for a new album in early 2018.

Almanac Unveils New Album “Kingslayer”

Victor Smolski’s Almanac stands for a new dimension of symphonic power metal, featuring three singers: Jeannette Marchewka (Lingua Mortis Orchestra), Andy B. Franck (Brainstorm) and David Readman (Pink Cream 69).

In March of 2016, Almanac unleashed debut album “Tsar,” followed by a European tour alongside Orden Ogan, as well as EU headline tour in the spring. Within the past few weeks, Almanac completed the recording of a second long player entitled “Kingslayer,” which was recorded at HeyDay Studios in Wuppertal, Germany.

“Our second strike is complete,” reveals guitar player Victor Smolski. He goes on to say, “’Kingslayer’ is the logical follow-up to ‘Tsar,’ just more compact, heavier and faster. The experience now under our belts gained from our many live experiences, including the two tours and festivals, has been fully implemented in the studio. The band has grown closer and stronger, you can feel this unified energy within the new tracks. We took a lot of time and gave our very best. ‘Kingslayer’ is a crafted metal album with a lively power sound!”

New album “Kingslayer” will be released on November 3rd via Nuclear Blast. The cover artwork was once again created by Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (Accept, Destruction).

Gjutjärn To Release EP, Working On New Full-Length Album

Sliptrick Records has issued the following announcement about releasing an EP and upcoming album from Gjutjärn:

“Meet Sweden’s best kept rock/metal secret, Gjutjärn! The word Gjutjärn, can be roughly translated from Swedish as ‘Cast Iron,’ and that’s exactly how Gjutjärn [from the Stockholm area] sounds.

“The band uses intense Swedish sung lyrics heavily influenced by the Norse/Scandinavian mythology and the Scandinavian culture in the Medieval times, blended with pounding heavy/metallic Swedish bad ass rock, produced by Jocke Skog of Clawfinger/Feared fame.

“Gjutjärn’s debut release will see the light on November the 28th, through the form of a digital EP (to be followed by the physical release shortly after) featuring three tracks of pure, undiluted, steamrolling yet melodic heavy music and the folk-ish heartbreaking ballad ‘Ån.’

“Gjutjärn are currently working on their upcoming album (produced by Mr. Skog as the EP) and their upcoming video whose shooting will take place in the Marsta area in late November.”
