The Fifth Alliance Announces “Death Poems” Release

Following 2013 debut album “Unrevealed Secrets Of Ruin,” Dutch five-piece The Fifth Alliance now returns with second album “Death Poems,” due out October 31, 2015. Consouling Sounds Records comments:

“Powerful and dark, ‘Death Poems’ consists of four new tracks that masterfully blend gritty and harsh sludge with emotive, gloomy post-metal moments. With this record, The Fifth Alliance has taken a significant step forward and developed a more powerful and emotionally intense sound, especially in the vocal delivery of Silvia Berger.

“There is something deeply disturbing and touching about the singer’s performance as if she is lamenting the loss of a loved one. If you are a fan of doomy, harsh and emotive post-metal, then ‘Death Poems’ is going to be one of your favourite releases of 2015.”

Be’lakor Guitarist To Miss Tour Dates, Matt Dodds Stepping In

Be’lakor has revealed that guitarist Shaun Sykes will be sitting out upcoming tour dates throughout the rest of 2015 for medical reasons. Shaun comments:

“To the fans,

“Over the past 12 months I have been battling with a medical condition that will render me unable to play on the upcoming European tour. This has been a very difficult decision to make, and no one is more disappointed than I am to be missing these upcoming shows in Europe. Matt Dodds (guitarist from one of my favourite bands, Arbrynth) will be filling in for me during my absence, and will no doubt do a stellar job.

“My number one focus at this point in time is to complete the album and recover to a point where I can return to my regular duties in the band. Despite my setbacks, everything is going well in my recovery and I expect to be back soon. I want you all to know I am fully committed to getting back out there and playing shows for you guys.

“My sincerest apologies to you all.”

Be’lakor also adds: “Despite this, preparations for the upcoming shows are going really well – after an extended period finalising our new music away from the stage, we can’t wait to play live again. Cheers, and see you on the road soon!”

Epica has announced a co-headlining tour of Europe with Switzerland’s Eluveitie this fall. In support is modern metal masters Scar Symmetry.

Guitar player Isaac Delahaye says the following about the tour: “Oh boy, I’m super stoked for this! What better way to end our The Quantum Enigma world tour than to team up with a band who’s – just like us – mixing 2 different genres into something special; a great metal band with a catchy folk topping. Yummie! Add some delicious riffing from our favourite Swedes, and you can expect a lot of coolio and 3 bands on top of their game. You wanna hear an orchestra? You wanna see a fiddler? You wanna steal tasty soloing ideas? Or do you just wanna have a great metal night in the pit? We’ve got it all.”

Rockstadt Extreme Fest 2015 Lineup Announced

If you are planning your Summer vacation and are looking for a place where your favourite bands might have a show, where the beer is outrageously cheap, and the landscape is awesome, you might want to try the lands of Transylvania.

We’re talking about a particular place from this region: Rasnov city, placed in the heart of Romania, near the legendary Castle of Dracula.

Here, an international extreme metal festival is to be held August 12th – 15th 2015: the Rockstadt Extreme Fest. The full ineup includes 45 bands with names such as Moonspell, At The Gates, Marduk, Combichrist, Ensiferum, Kataklysm, Carnifex, Taake, Cattle Decapitation, White Walls, Krisiun, Be’lakor, Suicidal Angels, and many more confirmed.

Besides good music, you’ll be able to enjoy urban sports in a special area inside the festival site, see movies in the dedicated outdoor cinema (set-up in collaboration with the Dracula Film Fest), and more. For further details, head over to this location.

Fans Re-Record Metallica’s “St. Anger”

Re-recorded in it’s entirety, #STANGER2015 is a project from Daryl G. and Chris D. (from Grace The Skies) and Dave C. (of Adust), and is a brand new version of Metallica’s 2003 album “St. Anger.”

You can stream the full re-recorded version below. Give it a listen and let us know if you think this one is better. The following press release was also issued:

“Recorded during a turbulent time in the bands career, St. Anger has always divided opinion. Some longtime fans were turned off by the drop tuned riffs and raw production, whilst some listeners embraced it, myself included. #STANGER2015 is for the listeners who weren’t so fond on the record back when it was released in 2003.

“Recorded from the ground up, the album has been shortened by 15 minutes, yet every riff and lyric is intact, resulting in a more concise and focused record.

“The production is also more conventional, and we hope that Metallica fans appreciate this new version of an album that is always looked at as an anomaly in the incredible career of the world’s biggest metal band, Metallica.

“Absolutely no money has been made from this project, and it has been created out of love for one of our favourite bands of all time. There will be no download links or alternative streaming options aside from this singular youtube video.”

Polar Releases “Bloodlines” Music Video

Post-hardcore troupe Polar – currently amidst a European jaunt alongside Texan hardcore group Close Your Eyes – has unveiled a new music video for rallying single “Bloodlines” while the band is stuck in Nice, France awaiting repairs on the tour van.

“‘Bloodlines’ really means a lot to me,” proclaims vocalist Adam “Woody” Woodford. “Lyrically, it comes from a hard time for me and my family. I won’t name names, but it turns out that one of the family members was stealing from another and then they became very hostile towards my side of the family and that’s where the line ‘living with a death wish’ comes from. On a more positive note, it’s one of my favourite tunes to play live, so come down and party with us on the BWP tour in December – we can’t wait!”

Catch the band live on these dates:

11/12 Dessau, DE – Beat Club*
11/14 Chemnitz, DE – AJZ Talschock*
