Ex-Deicide & Obituary Guitarist Ralph Santolla To Be Taken Off Life Support Today

As reported earlier this week guitarist Ralph Santolla (ex-Deicide and Obituary) fell into a coma after suffering a heart attack. After his mother Sue revealed things were not looking good during this week, his son, Dorian Angelo Santolla, broke the sad news that his father is going to be taken off life support today June 6th, 2018:

“We are going to take my father off of assisted living on Wednesday. If any of his friends would like to say goodbye, the family will welcome you at St. Joseph’s tomorrow (Tuesday). He would appreciate the love. Thank you ?”

Ralph’s mother also revealed that Ralph has some unreleased trackings with his last band, Devil’s Highway, which should be released soon:

“Ralph Santolla is an organ donor so he will live on. Those recipients don’t know what they are getting until they suddenly become sarcastic, funny, get tattoos, start playing guitar. One other thing, Devil’s Highway was getting close to completion. It will be done and that is a Ralph’s legacy. “

Ralph Santolla is only 48 years old. Our sincerest and deepest condolences to his family.

Conquer Divide Premieres New Music Video “What’s Left Inside”

All-female metalcore outfit Conquer Divide premieres a new music video entitled “What’s Left Inside”. Says guitarist Kristen Waters about the song:

“‘What’s Left Inside‘ is a song about the broken relationship I had growing up with my father. He was verbally abusive, and super hard on me growing up. He would commonly insinuate directly or indirectly that I wasn’t good enough or wouldn’t make it, wouldn’t graduate college, etc. And we still have a messed up relationship to this day. The song is essentially 15 years of pent-up anger I got out in about 10 minutes. It’s actually the fastest song I ever wrote. Needless to say, I graduated college and made it farther than he did with music (he was a drummer in a band at my age). The song is cathartic for me and turning a negative situation into something positive.”

Amenra Posts Cover Of Tool’s “Parabol”

On the same day Amenra plays an acoustic set at Roadburn Festival, presenting the entirely acoustic new album “Alive,” the Belgian post-metal collective has shared a new song from the record, a cover of Tool’s original “Parabol.”

About this cover song, vocalist Colin H Van Eeckhout commented: “One cannot deny that Tool has always been a huge influence to us and me as a singer. They wrote albums, slowly, scarce, but when they released an album, it felt like they had written it especially for me.

“It seems there was always a perfect timing, for instance they released ‘Lateralus’ on the 15th of May 2001, my 22nd birthday and on the same day I buried my father. The song ‘Parabol’ perfectly described the wake, five nights before, the moment he died in my arms and the words that went through my head that instant.”
