Bill And Phil Posts New Song “Bad Donut”

Horror icon Bill Moseley recently joined forces with extreme music legend Philp H. Anselmo for a very special collaborative release entitled Bill And Phil’s “Songs Of Darkness And Despair.” In advance of its release, today a stream of closing track “Bad Donut” comes online and can be heard below.

Set for release on January 20th, 2017 via Anselmo’s own Housecore Records, the five-track “Songs Of Darkness And Despair” was produced and performed by Anselmo and Stephen “The Big Fella” Berrigan, and mastered by Scott Hull of Visceral Sound.

The album includes guest appearances by Kevin Bond (Superjoint) on guitar, Squizzy Squires (King Parrot) on bass and guitar, and Jose “Blue” Gonzalez (Superjoint, Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) on percussion.

Comments Anselmo: “Working with Mr. Moseley was an awesome experience! Bill brought the lyrics and Stephen [Berrigan] and I just improvised directly on the spot, and squeezed out six tunes in three days. All the songs have a different vibe because I wanted the music to represent Bill’s lyrical vision(s), and we needed to, because Bill does indeed have a unique, visual element within his choice of words and phrasing. I love Bill Moseley, and can’t wait to work on the next one!”

“Benzaiten is the goddess of everything that flows: water, time, words, speech, eloquence, music and by extension, knowledge. ‘Benzaiten’ also happens to be the very first track composed by VIPASSI, which kick-started and affirmed our sound as well as the direction of our journey with this project, acting almost as a mission statement; honoring our love for extreme music and melody, capturing the ebb and flow of everything that inspires us to create. Black Table Posts New Song “Helm”

New song “Helm” has just come online, which is a track off Black Table’s upcoming sun-dimming atrocity of an album, “Obelisk.”

Led by the gut-wrenching screams of frontwoman-powerhouse Mers Sumida, Black Table presents a version of extreme music that twists, turns, weaves, and unravels. Sludgy post-rock teeters on the edge of a blackened hellscape – the band traverses truly dismal realms and also catches glimpses of brightness and triumph.

The album was produced by Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Sleep, Leviathan) and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice), and will be released October 14th via Silent Pendulum Records in the US, and Moment of Collapse Records in Europe.

Scour Streams Entire Debut Self-Titled Album

Scour – the extreme metal collaboration uniting Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint etc.), John Jarvis (Pig Destroyer), Derek Engemann (Cattle Decapitation), Chase Fraser (Continuum, former Animosity, Decrepit Birth), and Jesse Schobel (Strong Intention) – will unleash a self-titled debut tomorrow via Housecore Records.

In advance of its release, the full record has come online for early streaming today. Check out the harrowing strain of blackened, grind-infused mayhem that is “Scour” below. The band’s six-track, self-titled debut was mixed by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Cattle Decapitation, Cobalt, Khemmis).

Said Anselmo of the release, “Doing the Scour project was a blast. The way I saw it, the songs are short, and extremely straight-forward, so I didn’t want to clutter them up with too much. I had to pick particular lyrics that seemed provocatively absurd enough, and to perform them as raw as deemed fit. I hope all the true extreme music lovers enjoy the stuff as much as I did performing it. I haven’t done this style of since my days with Christ Inversion from 1994 – 1997, and I know some people might know of bands I’ve done like Eibon or Necrophagia in the early 2000s. Doing Scour was a cool re-visit. A huge cheers to all the awesome collaborators on this project.”
