Soilwork Posts “Death Resonance” Trailer

Soilwork just released a third “Inside Death Resonance” video trailer in which singer Björn “Speed” Strid talks about the band’s upcoming special collection of rarities, “Death Resonance,” which is due out August 19th, 2016 via Nuclear Blast.

You can pre-order “Death Resonance” as CD digipak or clear vinyl at this location. The gloomy cover art was created by Mnemic guitarist Mircea Gabriel Eftemie (Volbeat, Carcass, Scar Symmtery, Strapping Young Lad).

Commented singer Björn “Speed” Strid: “The cover for ‘Death Resonance’ is made by Mircea Eftemie and in many ways he managed to capture what we went through while recording ‘The Ride Majestic:’ the sorrow, the close encounter with death, the aftermath and also the existential cogitation that came with it.

“It links those albums together, even though ‘Death Resonance’ contains unreleased material from 2005 and forward. The cover almost seems like a link between life and death and not only captures where the band is right now, but also where we’ve been and what lies ahead.”

Monsterworks Releasing “The Existential Codex” Album

Eat Lead & Die Music is pleased to announce the release of Monsterworks’ “The Existential Codex” on February 27.

The six-track, 42-minute digital version of the album will be available as a free download, while the physical version of “The Existential Codex” is a 73-minute double-CD that comes in bonus Blu-Ray 5.1 Surround and HD stereo mixes. Vocalist/Guitarist Jon Higgs had this to say about the album:

“‘The Existential Codex’ is a natural progression from our previous release, Overhaul, and picks up/expands various ideas from that and, in fact, the last several albums. Musically, we are pushing our boundaries in all directions, although it is definitely metal at its heart. Lyrically, there is some kind of abstract story weaving through the album with a meaning that is a mystery to everyone involved, including me. As always with Monsterworks there is a common theme but no definitive answers. Nevertheless, hopefully ‘The Existential Codex’ will spark some independent thought along the way.

“From a technical standpoint this is the first time we have successfully gone all the way with a 5.1 surround mix which I believe is an interesting way to listen to music and opens up new possibilities. Not only that, it is worth mentioning that we strive to maintain dynamic range in metal and James Plotkin helped out again with a mastering job on the main stereo mix which does not crush the life out of it. If you know about the ‘Loudness War’, you know what I mean and, in fact, any true metal head should make it their business to demand the best possible source material for their headbanging pleasure.”

Trillion Red Streaming "Metaphere"

Dark, progressive avant-garde metal entity Trillion Red has teamed with Pure Grain Audio to offer a full album stream of the band’s forthcoming release “Metaphere.” The album becomes available on October 23rd via badGod Music, but can be heard in it’s entirety at this location.

“Metaphere” is Trillion Red’s debut full-length after last year’s “Two Tongues” EP. Trillion Red is firmly rooted both thematically and musically in the radical emotions of the human experience. Despite the existential and intangible subject matter, the struggle between darkness and light is the core concept throughout “Metaphere,” something which everyone can relate to and derive inspiration from.
