Former Marilyn Manson/Jack Off Jill Guitarist Daisy Berkowitz Passes Away

Scott Mitchell Putesky, more famously known as Daisy Berkowitz, the co-founding guitarist of the Marilyn Manson (originally Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids,) and later of Jack Off Jill, has passed away according to a number of his friends and bandmates. A posting on the Jack Off Jill Facebook page stated; “Saying good bye to Scott, friend, band mate, artist , hero.. RIP Scott – “always touched by your presence dear.” Daisy Berkowitz.” An official cause of death has yet to be revealed but in 2013, Putesky was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

Putesky formed Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids in 1989 with the eponymous singer (AKA Brian Warner,) after meeting at an after party at the Reunion Room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He remained with the group recording the album, “Portrait of an American Family” and the EP “Smells Like Children,” before leaving halfway through the recording of “Antichrist Superstar” due to creative differences, though he does appear on the record. He would then join Jack Off Jill in 1998 and went on to record the album, “Covetous Creature” with the group and made a guest appearance with Godhead, before recording some albums with Three Ton Gate.

New Song “Bortom Hemom” Available From Agusa

With the eponymous third LP from Sweden’s psychedelic prog rock alchemists Agusa confirmed for late October release through Laser’s Edge, the album’s closing movement “Bortom Hemom” has been made available for streaming in the player below.

Agusa was recorded and mixed by Viktor Rinneby and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Bob Katz, and sees the band delivering the singular brand of trance-inducing, folk-inspired, psychedelic rock through more traditional track lengths, offering five songs which range from five to ten-and-a-half minutes in length and are a bit heavier than the album’s predecessors.

Agusa’s Mikael Ödesjö offers of the song:”‘Bortom Hemom’ translates roughly as ‘Beyond Homeward’ and consists of two sections joined together by a bridge. The first part is in 7/4 and the second in 3/4. Perhaps our most ‘progressive’ effort this far. Enjoy!”

The follow-up to 2015’s “Agusa 2” (Två ) sees the Agusa circleexpanding the kaleidoscopic output which conjures images of nature and the cosmos, the extensive passages again leading the listener into fantastic realms of a possibly supernatural or parallel existence. The record is completed with fantastic artwork by Danilo Stankovic and design by Peter Wallgren.

Laser’s Edge will release Agusa on digital, CD, and LP on October 27th. The track list is:

1. Landet Längesen
2. Sorgenfri
3. Den Förtrollade skogen
4. Sagor från Saaris
5. Bortom hemom

Glenn Danzig To Release Black Sabbath Covers Album

Heavy metal veteran Glen Danzig has confirmed that his eponymous band is following up the latest record, “Skeletons,” which consisted of numerous cover versions including the Black Sabbath classic, “N.I.B.” with a whole album devoted to Black Sabbath covers.

His cover of the aforementioned song received substantial feedback from social media as well as internet comment sections and the explicit music video for the song has thus far received over 150,000 views on YouTube.

With such a strong reaction to it, the singer, who claims he has found his definitive vocal style at last, will be returning to the studio to artistically interpret such classics as “Paranoid,” “War Pigs,” “The Wizard” and the previously instrumental piece, “Fluff,” which he has penned lyrics for.

No confirmation has yet been received as to whether the videos for these songs will feature more porn stars.
