New Song “Plus Près De Toi (Closer To You)” Available From Amenra

Belgian heavy music luminaries Amenra shared the centerpiece “Plus près de toi (Closer to You),” the new single from the new album “Mass VI,” coming via Neurot Recordings on October 20th.

About the piece, Colin H. Van Eeckhout comments…”The song is about a profound longing, a sadness you carry within. Solitude. The journey to come closer to the people, and things you loved and you miss. A melancholy hymn. Inspired by a translation of a 19th-century Christian hymn, Nearer To God To Thee. It made sense to write and sing in French. Those words felt like they had more poetic outcome, than the English substitute. By using French and Flemish on this album, I felt like I could keep it a little closer to home, to our hearts. It’s a part of our heritage.”

The track listing for the album is:

1. Children of the Eye
2. Edelkroone
3. Plus près de toi (Closer to you)
4. Spijt
5. A solitary reign
6. Diaken

Steve Grimmett’s Solo Album “Personal Crisis” Coming To North America

Metal fans are well aware of the contributions of vocalist Steve Grimmet, whose body of work spans more than 30 years, including fan favorite recordings from Onslaught, Lionsheart, and Grim Reaper, among others.

Grimmett recorded a solo album, “Personal Crisis,” that was originally released in 2007 via Germany’s Metal Heaven Records. The album never saw proper North American distribution, which will finally change on June 30th, when Dissonance Productions makes this gem available for the English singer’s stateside fans.

With guitarist Ian Nash, bassist Richard Walker, and drummer Pete Newdeck, the album includes a cover of Grim Reaper’s “Wrath Of The Ripper” (from “See You In Hell”) and a strong duo performance of Grimmett with vocalist Joanne Ruiz on the song “Enemy.”

Currently, Grimmett is continuing to promote his latest album with Grim Reaper (“Walking In The Shadows”) and healing from a partial leg amputation. Fellow musician and fan generated fundraising continues globally to assist Grimmett and his family during what truly has been a life-changing event. Grimmett is planning to make his return to the stage in July.

Fen Prepares For New Album “Winter”

Atmospheric U.K. black metal group Fen today announced details on a fifth full-length album, set to see release via Aural Music imprint Code666 this coming March.

Titled “Winter,” the six-track production was captured by Jaime Gomez Arellano at the Orgone Studios in London (Ulver, Altar Of Plagues, Grave Miasma, Primordial, Solstafir) and stands among the band’s most enticing piece of work yet for the English three-piece; rich in sound, beguilingly delicate, and shrouded in darkness.

The six “Winter” movements are thematically and compositionally linked and ideally, the whole record is intended to be listened to in one sitting to allow the full journey to be absorbed.

“Winter,” which comes sheathed in the cover art of Fen bassist/vocalist Grungyn, will be available in standard CD, double black vinyl limited to 300 copies, and digital formats in North America on March 10th followed by a European street date of March 17th.

1. I (Pathway)
2. II (Penance)
3. III (Fear)
4. IV (Interment)
5. V (Death)
6. VI (Sight)

Bonus (available on all the limited formats):
1. I The Keening Soils
2. II Sight (Reprise)
3. III Penumbral Whispers
4. IV Temples Beyond The Shoreline
