Second To Sun Premiere New Song & Music Video “The Train 1702” From Upcoming New Album “The Walk”

Russian metal outfit SECOND TO SUN will release their new album The Walk on November 25. An official video for the track “The Train 1702” is streaming below:

The band released the following statement concerning the song:

“This song is based on the urban legend of the North of Russia. It is about the freight train number 1702, which travels through the deep forests of Northern Europe. According to legend, during the journey, the crew meets an alien object that first surrounds the train, and then picks up the train and moves it with a giant speed. The song describes what is happening and the emotional feeling of the crew, including visual and sound design tools (the average tempo of the composition, like the train, guitar parts emphasize what the song is about, there are original sounds of the train). Musically, the song is inspired by American groove metal and Scandinavian black metal.”

8kids Announces New Album “Denen Die Wir Waren”

8kids will release “Denen Die Wir Waren” via Napalm Records this coming May 26th, 2017. The label comments:

“Torrid guitar-led melodies cascade while Jonas Jakob vocally reflects the agony, frustration and enlightenment of the emotional extremes buried within 8kids music. The raw sound of his voice acts like an ice-breaker cutting through frozen seas.

“Despite their young age, 8kids are deft storytellers, portraying heart-wrenching moments that everyone can relate to in one way or another. Their pathos-filled debut album ‘Denen Die Wir Waren ‘(‘The Ones We Used To Be’) provides a feast of ear-catching hooks mixed with a heavy dose of rough, post hardcore-esque drive.

“If you feel nothing while listening to ‘Zeit‘, you stopped feeling a long time ago. Compared to the likes of Heisskalt and Fjørt, the German-based trio are part of a new movement, a musical Zeitgeist; There’s no better time than now, and soulmates Emma, Hans and Jonas are ready to share their story.”

Woe Streams An Ode To “The Ones We Lost”

U.S. black metal unit Woe will release new “Hope Attrition” full-length album next month via new label home Vendetta Records. In advance of its release and in conjunction with Valentine’s Day, today “The Ones We Lost” is offered up for public feasting.

“If the name doesn’t give it away, ‘The Ones We Lost’ is about coming to terms with a loved one’s death,” elaborates founding guitarist/vocalist Chris Grigg. “For me, it is the most draining song of Woe’s entire catalog. I, the other members of the band, and seemingly everyone I know had to deal with sudden deaths of family and friends over the past few years. Even if you recover, it leaves you changed.”

He goes on to say, “The cognitive dissonance between your body’s sense of something fundamentally broken in the world and the world’s indifference never really goes away. I think of this song as the emotional centerpiece of the album, a statement about grappling with the individual’s powerlessness in the face of the ultimate, final uncaring force.”

Destroying The Devoid Announces “Parmnesia” Album Release

Progressive death metal unit Destroying The Devoid, which features Craig Peters of Deeds Of Flesh and formerly Arkaik, will unleash a debut full-length via Unique Leader Records on August 19th, 2016.

Titled “Paramnesia,” the seven-track offering was engineered and produced by Craig Peters at Carnivale Nocturno Studios with all mixing and mastering handled by Zack Ohren (Deeds of Flesh, Arkaik, Suffocation et al) at Castle Ultimate Productions.

“Society is constantly plagued by a world telling them what it is to be beautiful, successful. and what they essentially need to ‘be happy,’ while taking advantage of the weak for their own selfish benefit,” Peters elaborates. “‘Paramnesia,’ while not a concept album, plays off of different themes related to perception and how we are effected by the world around us. The three-part song ‘Beyond The Dark Veil’ also deals with the emotional effect of death from three different perspectives.”

1. Chasm Of Existence
2. The Endless Cycles Of Lunacy
3. Carnivale Nocturno
4. Paramnesia
Beyond The Dark Veil
5. Part I: The Co-Existing Gaze
6. Part II: Into The Darkness Beyond
