New Album “Emperor’s Path” Announced By Tyfon’s Doom

Tommi Varsala’s heavy metal machine Tyfon’s Doom will release the new album “Emperor’s Path” November 17th via Gates of Hell Records.

Too often, classic or traditional metal bands get caught in the vacuum of relying too much on the past. Not Tyfon’s Doom sole member, Tommi Varsala. Varsala’s innate ability to create classic, but timely metal rung true throughout previous EP “Yeth Hound,” but it’s even more prominent on the band’s first full-length, “Emperor’s Path.” The album’s 11 songs brim with confidence, not to forget a production job that puts “Yeth Hound” to shame. It’s classic metal for the modern age.

Recorded from autumn 2016 to February 2017 primarily in Tampere, Finland in Varsala’s own rehearsal studio, “Emperor’s Path” marks the first Tyfon’s Doom release to feature drummer Cederick Forsberg (Blazon Stone, Rocka Rollas, Cloven Altar) who laid down his parts at Studio 2-takt in Sweden. The production of Emperor’s Path also turned out to be another two-man effort, with Varsala recording his parts then sending them to Forsberg to mix and master. This allowed Varsala to focus on what he does best, namely, melodic, surging numbers, stocked with flighty twin-guitar harmonies and his throaty rasp, best described as the denim-wearing cross between Motorhead legend Lemmy Kilmister and Destruction’s Schmier.

While songs like album opener “Tyrant’s Sceptre” and “Beyond Treason” are molten slabs of pure metal, the brilliant stacked melodies that kick off “The Hidden Hand” and ride throughout “Moonlight” showcase an outfit capable of combining the never-say-die melodies of NWoBHM with the bright melodicism of the band’s Finnish homeland.

The album cover (depicted below) was also handled by Varsala himself, who said “I couldn’t leave the first impression of an album to anyone else.” The artwork expresses a chaotic atmosphere on the “Dead Earth” and the themes and reasons associated with the situation as it’s presented in the lyrics. Go even deeper and it consists of the themes presented in the album’s songs such as the hole in the sky (“Sea of Life”), the galaxy (“Rising Earth”), the cathedral and the graveyard (“The Hidden Hand”) and the black raven (“The Rider From Abandoned Town”).

The track list for the album is:

1. Tyrant’s Sceptre
2. The Hidden Hand
3. Sea Of Life
4. Beyond Treason
5. Endless War
6. Moonlight
7. Howling Danger
8. The Rider From Abandoned Town
9. Rising Earth
10. Strange Aeons
11. Emperor’s Path

New Lyric Video “Savages” Posted By Cranely Gardens

New Jersey crushers Cranely Gardens has released the lyric video for “Savages,” a track from new release “House of Decay.” The video was created by the band’s own Joe Fedele and can be devoured in the player below.

“House of Decay” is out now and can be purchased and/or streamed in its entirety at this location.

Drawing influence from deathcore, metalcore, the new wave of American heavy metal, black, death, thrash and nu-metal, Cranely Gardens blends these various ends of the spectrum together to form their particular style. The band consists of Chaz Macklin on vocals, Randy Mac and Joe Fedele on guitar, Alex Niszczak on bass, and Victor Figueroa behind the drums. The band independently released the debut EP, “Locust Valley,” in 2015. On August 11 of this year, the seven-song EP “House of Decay” was self-released with the assistance of Ghostship Recordings.

“House of Decay” shows a much darker and more technical effort than the previous EP, and features guest musicians Chad Ruhlig (For the Fallen Dreams), Dan Watson (Enterprise Earth), Sims Cashion, Will Ramos (A Wake in Providence), and Josh Frazier (Narrow Vision).

New Single “Teras” Posted By Through The Eyes Of The Dead

Through The Eyes Of The Dead has debuted a third new single titled “Teras” today, which you can check out in the player below. “Teras” features former vocalist Nate Johnson. The new track comes from the band’s new LP, “Disomus,” which is scheduled to be released October 13, 2017 via Entertainment One Music (eOne)/Good Fight Music.

“We’re extremely excited to release ‘Teras’ to everyone,” says bassist Jake Ososkie. “Getting two vocalists like Nate and Danny on the same track took this song to new heights. Enjoy it and make sure you pick up ‘Disomus’ on October 13th!”

Fans can find three new tracks available right now on all streaming services and digital providers. Tracks “Teras,” “Obitual” (featuring original vocalist Anthony Gunnells) and “Hate The Living” are available as iTunes instant gratification tracks, meaning fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will receive all three tracks as instant downloads.

“Disomus” is the long anticipated follow up to their last LP, “Skepsis,” released in 2010. “Disomus” marks the second consecutive album with vocalist Danny Rodriguez and drummer Michael Ranne (a first in the group’s impressive history) together with longtime bassist Jake Ososkie and founding guitarist and songwriting engine Justin Longshore.

“Disomus” doubles as the studio introduction of new guitarist Steven Funderburk (also of Wretched, Lillake) and the return of original vocalist Anthony Gunnells and his successor, Nate Johnson, via strong guest appearances, bringing Through The Eyes Of The Dead full circle.

“Disomus” is the medical term describing an abnormal fetus with two bodies but one head. The album’s subject matter includes the tale of a man buried alive by a cult (“Obitual”), a dark magician’s creation of a malignant entity via sacrificial killing (“Haruspex”), underworld spirits doomed to roam the earth (“Dismal”), the Styx River of Greek myth (“Vortices in the Stygian Maelstrom”), the themes of the Alien/Prometheus film franchise (“Teras,” alternately named for an abnormal fetus with two heads and one body), and the real life tragedy and horror discovered by Rodriguez, a Chicago police officer, when called upon to check on the well being of an elderly person who lived alone (“Till Solace, She’ll Haunt”).

The track listing is:

1. Hate The Living
2. Obitual (song streaming here)
3. Haruspex
4. Of Mortals, We Once Were
5. The Binding Nightmare
6. Vortices In The Stygian Malestrom
7. Ingis
8. Teras
9. Till Solane, She’ll Haunt
10. Dismal

Good Tiger launches new single, “Blueshift”

– October 2nd, 2017 –

On February 9th, Good Tiger will release their sophomore full-length, We Will All Be Gone, via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records. For a preview of the album, the new single, “Blueshift” (which was premiered on BBC’s Radio1 Rock Show yesterday, October 1st!), can be heard now at: youtube.com/watch?v=7LZyrtenRtM

Good Tiger comments: “The response to ‘Devil’ has been amazing and we are excited for people to hear another part of the album. We’ll be playing a whole bunch of new material at all forthcoming shows, we’ve been having a lot of fun playing these songs live.”

To hear the first single, “The Devil Thinks I’m Sinking”, please visit: metalblade.com/goodtiger – where the record can be pre-ordered in the following formats:

–Digipak CD
–180g Black Vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 500 copies)
–Flesh Pink Clear Vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies)
–Opaque Pale Pink Vinyl (USA exclusive – limited to 500 copies)

With music instantly accessed at the touch of a button, it seems that the urge to pigeonhole bands as quickly and neatly as possible has been driven to ever more extremes in recent years. Good Tiger, however, forge their own path. Blending their influences in a manner that defies lazy classification sets them apart from their contemporaries, imbuing everything they do with a distinctive sound and feel, and with We Will All Be Gone, Good Tiger have dramatically built upon their stunning debut, 2015′s A Head Full Of Moonlight. Comprised of guitarists Derya “Dez” Nagle and Joaquin Ardiles, bassist Morgan Sinclair, drummer Alex Rudinger and vocalist Elliot Coleman, Good Tiger has raised the stakes across the board – every track on We Will All Be Gone has a definitive character of its own, and none stay in a single gear, all of them dynamic and textured as they evoke various tones and moods. Tracking at Middle Farm Studios in southwest England, the band also recruited producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool/Dead Letter Circus), and engineer/mixer Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery/Animals As Leaders). “We worked with Nolly on the last album, we had a great working relationship, and wanted to explore that further in a more developed situation,” Dez explains. “Forrester has made some of our favorite albums, and is someone we could trust steering the ship. Having self-produced for so long it can be at times quite difficult to let go, so it was important we found people we could fully entrust to help create the album we wanted to make.”

We Will All Be Gone track-listing:
1. The Devil Thinks I’m Sinking
2. Float On
3. Such a Kind Stranger
4. Blueshift
5. Salt of the Earth
6. Grip Shoes
7. Just Shy
8. Nineteen Grams
9. Cherry Lemon
10. I’ll Finish This Book Later

Frontiers Music Srl Inks Deal With Warlord

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to welcome legendary U.S. metal act Warlord to the family for the release of a new studio album in 2018!

Long admirers of the band and having gotten to know drummer Mark Zonder through his work with Graham Bonnet Band and the upcoming group, Spirits Of Fire, (which also features Tim Ripper Owens (Charred Walls Of The Damned, ex Iced Earth, Judas Priest), Chris Caffery (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), and Steve Di Giorgio (Death (Official), Testament, Sadus)), Frontiers approached Zonder about the prospect of doing a new Warlord album for release in 2018. Luckily for the label, Zonder and co-founder/guitarist William J. Tsamis were very much open to the idea. Says Zonder, “[a]fter all of these years, Warlord is with a ‘real label.’ It will be great to have Warlord music shared with a worldwide audience., which is something that has been missing for many years. With my prior working experiences with Frontiers, I know Warlord is in the right place and I am very appreciative of this great opportunity. We thank everyone at the label for their belief in Warlord!”

In September 2013, Tsamis and Zonder announced that they had tapped vocalist Nicholas Leptos of Arrayan Path and Astronomikon to be the new Warlord singer. This line-up, along with bassist Bynoe will be the line-up for the upcoming new album. Adds Zonder, “this Warlord release will be like all of the previous ones, 100% Warlord. No changing of direction to keep up with the current fad, just good ol’ school Warlord music. Maybe leaning back a touch to the early days and we promise a high energy album that features the classic Bill Tsamis compositions and his classic guitar melody lines. As I always try to do, I’ll give it my all in tandem with my favorite bass player Philip Bynoe, working together to create a solid foundation. This will be the first studio recording with Nicholas Leptos on vocals. We have performed live with him several times and are eagerly awaiting to capture his dynamic performances on tape. A classic Warlord album in the making……”

Stay tuned for updates as work on the album progresses….

First Single “Her Feet Upon The Earth, Blooming The Fruits Of Blood” Posted By Aosoth

French black metal devotees Aosoth premiered the first single from the fifith studio album “V: The Inside Scriptures,” which is due out on November 17th via Agonia Records. Listen to “Her Feet Upon The Earth, Blooming The Fruits Of Blood” in the player below.

Aosoth is the second project of vocalist & lyricist MkM (the founder of Antaeus) evolving in the black/death metal genre. While Antaeus sets boundaries for violent, grinding black metal, Aosoth delivers more dissonant and 90’s death metal elements combined with the work of guitarist & producer Bst (The Order Of Apollyon, VI), who composed the music on the album. The duo is accompanied by bassist INRVI (the founder & mastermind of VI) and Saroth (Hell Militia, Temple of Baal) on second guitar.

“V: The Inside Scriptures” is a closing chapter of AOSOTH’s musical and lyrical concept. Distinctive and downright suffocating, the album shows many differences to “III” & “IV: Arrow In Heart”, the two previous full-length releases, especially in terms of atmosphere. The recordings took nearly three years and were interrupted by many events in the personal lives of MkM & Bst. At some point, the album was about to be abandoned and never released.

The drums for “V: The Inside Scriptures” were recorded by T. at Hybreed Studios (Temple Of Baal, Glorior Belli, VI). All other instruments were recorded at BST Studios. Mixing & mastering were done at BST Studios as well, while the painting adorning the album cover (shown below) was created by Benjamin A. Vierling (Nightbringer, Weapon). Layout and additional photography was done by Somnyum. AOSOTH’s logo was prepared by Erik Danielsson of Watain.

The track listing for the album is:

1. A Heart To Judge
2. Her Feet Upon The Earth, Blooming The Fruits Of Blood
3. The Inside Scriptures
4. Premises Of A Miracle
5. Contaminating All Tongues
6. Silver Dagger And The Breathless Smile

We are now a mere weeks away from the release of the sixth Wolves In The Throne Room LP “Thrice Woven,” and today another track from the 5-track collection has been revealed. “Mother Owl, Father Ocean” offers a lull from the album’s Cascadian black metal lean thanks to a lush wall of ambient noise and gauzy vocals from Norwegian singer Anna von Hausswolff.
