They inspired and helped shape my own personal convictions over the years, and these ideals are still very important to me today. This song is for those who paved the way and respect to those who still remain. These beliefs will never fade. These are the rules of conviction.”

1000 Drops Of Venom Releases 1st Song “To Their Doom”

From Syracuse, New York, arises a vicious new act founded by members of some of the area’s most prolific acts, welcome 1000 Drops Of Venom!

From the torch bearers that put the sound of one of the worlds prime metallic hardcore origins on the map, 1000 Drops Of Venom was forged by a cast of musicians who have helped create the Syracuse sound, with vocalist Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, Freya), guitarist Jonathan Dennison (The Promise, Unholy, The Path Of Resistance), drummer Andy Miller (Unholy), and bassist Chris Reilly comprising the brutal backline.

The debut recordings have just been completed, and are now being finalized for a 7″ EP release, which features four by-the-throat tracks recorded, mixed, and mastered by Doug White at Watchman Studios in Buffalo, New York (Gym Class Heroes, Brutal Truth, Psyopus).

The release will be issued in the coming months, on a label to be announced at a later time. For now, the band has leaked one track from the record as an early warning of what’s to come. Issues Jonathan Dennison of this new venture:

“Well, talks of starting a new band together with Karl has finally materialized. I think fans of our past and present bands will like what we’re doing. Musically this band represents how we feel and some things never change.”

Karl Buechner continues, “JD and I became friends back when Another Victim toured with Earth Crisis in the nineties. Since then we have played music together in Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, and Freya at different points. It was only a matter of time before we put a band together on our own. Our beliefs and our take on metal and hardcore are identical. There is genuine hatred in this music but it’s not back to square one. I think it’s the best elements of what were known for.”

Freya Streams New Song “Gnawing From Inside”

“Gnawing From Inside” is the alarming new single from Syracuse-based metal outfit Freya, taken from the band’s impending fifth full-length album “Grim.” As the album nears release at the end of the month, the band has issued the early single for public consumption below.

Offers Freya vocalist Karl Buechner (also of Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance, and more) on the morose concept of this new single:

“Essentially, the song is about a group of people trapped indoors isolated out in the wilderness in the dead of a brutal Winter after they deplete their stocks of firewood and food they start to hallucinate and slowly turn on each other. Cannibalism seems like the only choice to survive.

“When Flynn and I started to look into the background of the original Hansel and Gretel folk tale, one of earliest versions is even more horrifying then the one we’re all familiar with. The father leaves the two out in the forest so that the parents won’t themselves be tempted to kill and eat their own children over the course of a harsh Winter!”

Comments the band :

“Friends: We had reservations about posting this, not wanting it to come off as insensitive, opportune or self-serving (“Fuck this tragedy and here’s a song dealing with it, Preorder Here!”) but at the same time, really wanting to post it, and right now. This is how we honestly feel, and the epitome of what this music still represents for us. It’s how we share grief and anger over such horrors, how we vent and process them personally and contribute to the greater dialogue about it publicly; we form our words and songs into a scream and let it out to join the others. So:

We’re putting this song up early in light of the rising death toll in one of the worst mass murders in modern western history, to help sustain the conversation and if nothing else to offer support, condolences and solidarity from our corner of the world. We stand with all victims of systematic violence, abuse and deliberate oppression.

“Abuse of Power Comes As No Surprise” – Jenny Holzer”
