Wakrat Signs Record Deal With Earache

Rage Against The Machine bassist and founding member Tim Commerford has signed a worldwide record deal with Earache Records for his new band Wakrat.

As part of Rage Against The Machine, Commerford has sold tens of millions of albums, played to countless fans across the globe and won two Grammy Awards. Commerford then went on to form Audioslave with this form RATM bandmates Tom Morello and Brad Wilk, along with Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.

Tim Commerford is now returning in 2016 with Wakrat, a brand new project which features Commerford on vocals and bass, Mathias Wakrat on drums, and Laurent Grangeon on guitar and vocals. The band’s debut album is due to be released later this year on Earache Records.

Tim Commerford comments: “We are gearing up to be on the offensive, assaulting the populous with our debut album on Earache Records. We have put a shit load of blood and sweat into this and we want it back! Our mission is to attack modern music and smash the grid. Unapologetic, unrelenting, unbridled and uncensored. Understood?”

Earache’s Tom Hadfield adds: “We are so excited to be working with Tim Commerford. Since Rage Against The Machine, there has been a distinct lack of politically-charged bands around. Corruption is everywhere and those responsible for the inequality and suffering need to be held accountable. What better place than here, what better time than now.”

Savage Messiah Releases New Music Video “Hellblazer”

London’s heavy metal act Savage Messiah has released a new music video for the track “Hellblazer,” featuring London contortionist Pixie Le Knot (Game of Thrones Season 3, The Devil Inside). “Hellblazer” tells a tale of power, religion, and corrupted innocence through an ancient Illuminati ritual. Check it out below.

Savage Messiah front man Dave Silver comments: “As we get ever closer to the release date for ‘The Fateful Dark,’ we’re very pleased to unveil our latest promo for the track ‘Hellblazer.’ Musically, this is a solid representation of the Savage Messiah sound: melodic, heavy, catchy and with guitar solos galore!

“We tried to invoke that classic Uriah Heep-esque groove with this track so we hope you dig it! And talking of invoking, the video depicts us conducting a kind of exorcism ritual of sorts where we draw the evil pope from contortionist and Game of Thrones actress Pixie Le Knot! We want to extend our thanks to director Tom Walsh and all involved in creating this video!”

“Hellblazer” is taken from Savage Messiah’s upcoming album, “The Fateful Dark,” which is due to be released on March 10th in Europe via Earache Records and on March 18th in the USA via Century Media/Earache Records.

You can also catch the band live on these dates:

Feb. 25 – London, UK – Borderline

Savage Messiah Streaming New Song “Minority Of One”

After being rebuffed by Freemasons while trying to rent a building for a photo shoot, London metal act Savage Messiah has released a new track from upcoming album, “The Fateful Dark.”

Give a listen to the new track “Minority of One” below. “The Fateful Dark” is due to be released on March 10th in Europe via Earache Records and on March 18th in the USA via Century Media/Earache Records.

Savage Messiah frontman Dave Silver comments:

“The title for this song comes from a famous saying by Ghandi, who said that even if you’re in a minority of one, the truth is the truth. Which is a good message to people about breaking the mould and not getting sucked into ‘group think’ mentality. Standing up for what’s objectively right and not compromising for the sake of social acceptance. Musically, this is my favourite Savage Messiah track ever; we’ve managed to marry the thrash and heavy metal elements into a cohesive track, which is catchy and melodic, but still fast and thrashy. Enjoy!”

Savage Messiah Comments On Trying To Rent Freemason Building For Photo Shoot

Earache Records has issued the following press release about U.K. band Savage Messiah being rebuffed by Freemasons while trying to rent a building for a photo shoot:

“Savage Messiah attempted to hire the UK Freemason headquarters for an upcoming photo shoot but were banned from entering the United Grand Lodge in London after the society considered the metal band’s name ‘offensive’ citing: ‘There are concerns over the group’s name and we have to be conscious of our members.’

“The Fateful Dark, to be released March 2014, is the scintillating third album from the London based heavy metallers and thematically covers some of the rituals and controversy surrounding the secret society of Freemasonry.

“Cross of Babylon, the third track makes reference to a highly secretive Masonic ritual called The Red Cross of Babylon, whilst the eye-catching album artwork depicts themes of greed, power and corruption alongside Masonic iconography.”

Savage Messiah frontman Dave Silver said: “Once more the dubiously hypocritical nature of religious groups has reared its head. We’ve been denied access to a building due to our apparently offensive name. I’m assuming that the word ‘Savage’ is the root of the consternation in question. This I find amusing from a group of people that adhere to a book that promotes slavery, genocide and celebrates a single human sacrifice as if it had any baring what so ever in the eradication of ‘sin’ or whatever that is supposed to be.

“If the band was called ‘arse-fucked Messiah’ I might understand their concern, however the very nature of the biblical myths is based on the most savage of human behaviours. Ironically most Christian churches depict the effigy of a brutal murder, the most violent of image of a man strung up, maimed, humiliated and sacrificed, yet us long haired, peace loving, free-thinking heavy metal louts are too ‘Savage’ to enter a building…such is the way of the world!”

Savage Messiah will release “The Fateful Dark” via Earache Records on CD and limited edition coloured vinyl this coming March 10th, 2014.
