Byzantine Posts “The Agonies” Music Video

Byzantine takes its ferocious brand of progressive thrash to new heights with “The Agonies,” the second single off new album “To Release Is To Resolve” (out now via CEN/RED Distribution and available for streaming right here).

The West Virginian band’s monstrous stage presence is further captured in the brand new video for the track which was premiered via Billboard.com. Check it out below.

Behind the thrashing track is a lyrical theme inspired by a social ill that plagues the band’s home state. “The song title ‘The Agonies’ is a street term for the severe withdrawal symptoms from prescription pain pill abuse,” front-man Chris “OJ” Ojeda shares with Billboard. “This subject is extremely personal for me as this problem has infiltrated many good lives of people I know and grew up with.”

See the band live on these dates:

April 17 – Beckley, WV – Muncheez Bar & Grill
April 18 – Parkersburg, WV – Sixpence Pub & Eatery

C.F.A. Posts Video For “Kick Rocks”

The raucous good time Tacoma punkers of C.F.A. (Cody Foster Army) have announced that the first of four upcoming videos is ready for public consumption, and the heavy rockin’ trio is partnering up with The Ripple Effect for the world premiere on July 1st.

The video for “Kick Rocks” was filmed over the course of several live events from the past year and edited by Killiam Lord, and gives the fans who have yet to experience the live shenanigans of C.F.A. a brief glimpse of the raw power these guys bring to the stage. “It’s obvious Kill is a fan of CFA’s music,” bassist/vocalist Cody Foster explains. “The shots and movement of the camera really flows with the rhythm of the music.”

Sathanas To Release Split 7" With Spawn Of Satan This October

A split 7″ between Spawn of Satan and Sathanas will see release this coming October 10th through Hell’s Headbangers. Music from the release can be heard in the player below, and the following press release was issued about the split:

“This split 7” celebrates ancient Evil Death Metal from America, from two of its most unsung hordes. Spawned into evil in 1988, Sathanas are one of the oldest American blackened death cults, and their track here – ‘Unholy Eternal/ – proves that this power-trio will never waver from their ‘no compromises’ approach.

“Equally uncompromising, Jim Sadist’s pet monster Spawn of Satan returns after a four-year hiatus with ‘Ritual Murder,’ a track written in 1988 yet showcasing what’s to come from these minions. America the ugly…America the EVIL!”
