Rapheumets Well Posts New Song “Witch Of Dark Spire”

Hickory, N.C. band Rapheumets Well is now streaming third single “Witch Of Dark Spire” online, which can be heard below. The track comes from sophomore release “The Exile,” due out March 18th, 2016 through Test Your Metal Records.

Drummer Joshua Ward comments on the single: “This song is the first great ‘shift’ in the downfalls of the main character in the story. After being tortured and then remade to fulfill his vengeful mission, he see’s in the distance the dark spire. It was Daasha (the witch), his wife’s trusted friend and counselor to the court that betrayed them.

“She exposed Darmak and his family was executed because of it. You can imagine the burning sensation in your gut to have another shot at the person who has done you so wrong. Each riff outlines the emotions and actions that take place in the characters ascent through the dark spire. This song is like the first ‘boss fight’ for us.”

The new album’s track listing is as follows:

1. Resurrecting The Blood Gate (4:44)
2. The Blight of Sotath Shal (3:53)
3. The Epic of Darmak (4:59)
4. Crucible of Titans (4:14)
5. Resurgence (6:07)
6. Witch of Dark Spire (5:17)
7. The Exile (6:13)

Draugurinn Celebrates Ice In Shamanic Ritual “Ísavetur”

Draugurinn is set to drop “Ísavetur” via Nordvis Produktion on August 21st, 2015. Nordvis comments on the ambient album:

“Visualize yourself, adrift in a world where an opaque veil of volcanic ash obscures the cold rays of the sun; allowing only a scant few to even graze the rock and soil of nature’s surface. Lost, you traverse the bleak landscape when you begin to hear a subtle drumming in the distance. Intrigued, you move towards the sound. The drumming, subtle at first but steadily growing, louder and louder; the beats of your heart already matching its rhythm…

“‘Ísavetur,’ the latest offering from Disa of Draugurinn, is more of an experience than it is a musical album – it is the soundtrack of a shamanic ritual; one that will evoke a sensation of longing and despair in its audience, whilst simultaneously capturing its full attention. Draugurinn’s ritualistic dark ambient takes us down a path where few have trod; through the mist, into the nameless unknown.

“The album marks the continuation of 2012’s ‘Móðuharðindin’ – an album wrought in the sign of fire, and one that told the tale of the eruption of Icelandic volcano Lakagigar, the aftermath of which led to a drop in global temperature that lasted for several years. Thus, to continue what started in 2012, the next natural step was to work with the element of ice; a contrast to fire, but one equal in strength.”
