The Bloodline (Ex-Divine Heresy/Dirge Within) Streaming New Clip “Poisonous”

The Bloodline (ex-Divine Heresy/Dirge Within) is streaming a new music video for the new song “Poisonous” below. The song is taken from the band’s debut album “We Are One” which will be released on May 5 via Another Century.

States vocalist Travis Neal (ex-Divine Heresy) about the track:

“The track ‘Poisonous‘ is basically about someone that is poisonous in nature. A person that is like a parasite, that consumes all that they can before they abandon what’s left of the victim. In the lyrical sense, it’s referenced as a woman, but in reality this can be anyone. Someone that preys upon one’s emotions, feelings, finances or anything that would slowly cripple and destroy one’s confidence, self-pride and total being. I know that everybody that is reading this has met a person like that and can relate to these lyrics in one way or another. The music video for ‘Poisonous‘ depicts a scenario of a relentless jealous woman that will destroy anything that doesn’t work in her favor. In our case it was the fact that we did not pick her to be in the video from a panel of a total of five women, which in this case all were picked but her. She then takes the frustration out on us one by one to show that she will not except defeat and will repay the act of failure 10 fold. In a sense she makes her way through our video like a plague, consuming and destroying everything in her path. I also have to say, I’m pretty damn proud of this record. We worked on this record for about two years, through ups and downs and everything that goes hand in hand with living life and now that it is finished, finalized, pressed and about to be released the feeling of butterflies like being a kid excited about Christmas is definitely the feeling I am getting. There is a lot of truth in this record for me lyrically, so the fact that this vision is finally come to be is pretty awesome. We as a band as well as our team are all in the same feelings and are so very proud to release this to each and every one of you. We hope you enjoy this as much as we all do.”

Travis Neal Comments On Joining Dirge Within As New Vocalist

Chicago act Dirge Within announced the recruitment of new vocalist Travis Neal late last month, and now Travis has posted the following statement online about joining the band:

“Hello to all the Dirge Within fans out there and thank you for the amazingly warm welcome!! It is always a difficult situation when an established band loses they’re front man and brings in a new voice in the attempts to fill the original vocalists shoes. It can either work or not. I have a great feeling that you all will be extremely happy with the new changes in the band!! My respect to Jerms and all of his future endeavors! He is a great front man with a strong voice, I have no doubt that he will continue to move forward in his musical career.

“I am extremely happy to be a part of the DW family, I have known Shaun Glass for a long time and it is very cool to finally be able to collaborate with him in a band together! A couple weeks ago I joined Shaun along with Frankie, Jimmy and Chuck in Chicago for some amazing rehearsal sessions as well as some great times! We all have clicked extremely well and the chemistry shows! Like it was meant to be! Again, I have a great feeling that you all are gonna really dig the material that we are working on… A lot of you know of me from my work in Divine Heresy as well as other projects that I have been involved with. I know a lot of you that know of me know that I tend to keep busy and tend to keep a full plate. I have multiple ‘projects’ that are out and floating around. I am a musician and truly love to create and play music. I do a lot of studio projects with friends and other musicians out there and that is why you all will see my involvement in several projects and that is exactly what they are… ‘projects,’ nothing that will be toured to support. Just studio projects. Truth be told, I only have one band that is active (Cyanide Serenity) and now Dirge Within will be the second band that is active.

“I have always wanted to have 2 full time bands that bounced off of each other, kind of like Corey Taylor and doing his Stone sour and Slipknot. Both bands are great and both bands are on opposite ends of the spectrum as like my 2 bands. Cyanide Serenity is very technical and brutal with elements of death metal and extreme metal while Dirge Within is more commercially heavy, which is awesome! My involvement in Divine Heresy is still happening however, due to Fear Factory’s extremely busy schedule DH has become a back burner band for now. I do not know that we will do anything else anytime soon nor do I expect that we will. If anything is to come from DH, it will most likely be late 2014 mid 2015 and I do not know how much touring will be involved. I can only hope the best but it is not in my control.

“As for my future, I am focusing on Dirge Within and Cyanide Serenity. I am already working on new Dirge Within material with the band and it is coming out nicely!! I am looking forward to unleashing it on the world!! As well as a remake track off of ‘There will be blood,’ stay posted to the Dirge Within page for the info on that track and when it is going to drop as you all will get a real taste of what is to come!! With all that being said, I do hope that this clears your heads on what is going on with my projects and what you can expect from the future… I cannot wait to start playing out with DW and slaying stages across the planet!! Rest assure we will all be seeing you very soon, that’s a promise! Much love and respect to all of you.”

Dirge Within Announces Record Deal, Comments On Upcoming Album

Dirge Within is proud to announce a partnership with Rocket Science Ventures/THC: MUSIC, who will release the band’s sophomore LP on 4/10 in North America via Sony RED.

“Myself and the rest of the guys in DW are very excited about this new chapter in the DW story, as well as our new partnership with Rocket Science Music. It seemed like a perfect fit, and I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in this new endeavor.” states says Dirge Within front man Jeremy Genske. “It’s gonna be a whole new ride. New team, new atmosphere, and a new vibe. Get ready!”

Dirge Within will be entering Mercenary Studios in Zion, IL beginning on December 5th to record the band’s sophomore full-length release (yet to be titled and scheduled for an April 2012 release). Dirge Within is slated to be in the studio from December through the end of January. The production team will consist of Scott Creekmore (Engineer) and Ari Mihalopoulos (Producer) producing alongside the band.

Also, Dirge Within is announcing the departure of lead guitar player Matt Szlachta, who parted ways with the band in October to continue focus on his passion for teaching guitar to his students and for other personal reasons. “There’s no bad blood at all, man. We’re all still good buds and very close. His head and heart just weren’t in it anymore, and he wanted to go back to teaching. He really loves it, and that’s where he felt he had to be,” states Jeremy.

With the departure of Szlachta, Dirge Within is proud to announce the addition of new lead guitar player Chuck Wepfer, who will make his debut on the new release. Check out a video of Chuck here.

The new release will also be the (full album) debut of drummer Frankie Harchut and bassist Jeff Paulick (Bassist/Vocals Lazarus A.D.) who has been filling on bass duties on tour with DW. “I am very excited about the new songs we’ve written for this new album, and that people will be able to check out my style of playing a little more. We worked our asses off writing these new songs, a lot of long nights, and I’m personally stoked to have our fans hear ’em. I really think they’re gonna be into it,” stated drummer Frankie Harchut about the new album.

“The songs are heavier, smarter, and more melodic in parts. Some are even a little slower! There were no rules when we were writing at all. No holds barred. Whatever came out, came out. And I think it’s gonna make a really good well rounded metal album,” added Jeremy.

Dirge Within To Enter The Studio In December

Dirge Within, the band featuring former SOiL guitarist Shaun Glass, has announced that they will be entering the studio this December to begin work on their next release. A message from Glass reads as follows:

“First off the reason I have written about this is the amount of fans asking me as well as friends in bands as well. I am not in SOiL nor is their tour a original line-up reunion.Yes Ryan is on board as well as Tim (King; bass), Adam (Zadel; guitar) are from the original line up. I wish them the best. I am 100% busy and focused on Dirge Within. We just wrapped up a full US tour for the new Absolution EP and were now preparing to enter the studio in early December to begin the new album and were pretty stoked on how much the song’s are still growing as we keep hammering ’em to make sure they are the strongest they can be. Some of the titles are ‘Memories’, ‘For My Enemies’, ‘Murder..Savior’ all are set to be part of this new full album which will be out early in 2012. Trust me this is gonna stomp some asses!”
