Dee Snider Posts New Music Video “Lies Are A Business” Online

Former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has posted a new music video online for the song, “Lies Are A Business.” You can check it out below. The song is the sixth from his “For The Love Of Metal” to receive the music video treatment. Speaking about the song, Snider stated:

“The socio-political message of ‘Lies Are A Business’ is more important at this moment in time than ever before. The movement toward more controlling, all-powerful governments continues to grow and the current nightmarish situation in Venezuela is emblematic of the direction our world is sadly heading in. The incredible video for this song by award winning director Leo Liberti of Liberta Filmes truly captures my message with powerful metaphoric imagery while taking nothing away from the metallic power of the song!”

Psycroptic debut a lyric video for their new track “Upon These Stones“. It’s the third cut to arrive from the group’s new effort “As The Kingdom Drowns“, out November 09th via Prosthetic.

Comments drummer Dave Haley:

“‘Upon These Stones‘ is one of the darker songs on the album and it developed into a very unique song for us. It’s is a lot slower than our ‘usual’ pace; but still very heavy and somewhat ‘brooding’. We are excited by the direction it took our sound in and can’t wait to show it to our fans! It’s very different and that’s why chose it as on of the singles.”

New Album “IAO 269” Announced By Corpose Garden

Latin American death metal act, Corpse Garden, will be releasing the third album “IAO 269” in November 2017 via Godz ov War Productions on CD, vinyl, cassette and digitally (exact date TBA). Check out the new track “Selenomantic Ecstasies” in the player at the bottom.

“IAO 269” follows up conceptually on the previous album, “Entheogen” (2015), and takes the band into a brand new and bolder, experimental – and even trance-like – direction.

Guitarist Federico Gutiérrez comments on what influenced this direction: “music is always a response from whatever we are feeling at the moment of its creation. It is an extension of our feelings and emotions”. The album was heavily influenced by the music the band members were listening to during the creation process of the album: krautrock, 70s and 80s post-punk and ambient music among others.

“When we were crafting the music, it became more obvious that the concept of the album would be a continuation of the concept on Entheogen: It’s the harness of knowledge through the occult and realizing its power and the abilities it descends upon one’s hands”.

“IAO 269” was produced by Colin Marston and Corpse Garden. It was recorded, mixed and mastered in January 2017 by Colin Marston at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves Studio, Queens, New York.

Stay tuned for more information on the album. In the meantime, check out the new song “Selenomantic Ecstasies” here:

Tarlung Streams “Beyond The Black Pyramid” Album

Austrian group Tarlung released new album “Beyond The Black Pyramid” on May 5th, 2017 via Black Bow Records. You can stream the full release below, or get your own copy at Bandcamp here. The following press release was also issued:

“Dense and suffocating, Tarlung’s music crawls along ponderously, squeezing the life out of its listeners. This kind of expression in sludge is rarely done but ends up being most satisfying.

“The riffs command the direction, as within the mire of the deafening sludge you have catchy hooks and memorable tunes. Influences from closely related genres such as death metal and even stoner doom coalesce to form their monolithic sound. Listen to one of the heaviest albums in this style and quiver under its might.”

Dead Swords Releasing “Skeletons And Broken Souls” EP Collection

Dead Swords – the brand new New Jersey-based outfit comprised of Alex Rosamilia of The Gaslight Anthem and Corey Perez (Bottomfeeder, I Am The Avalanche, Let Me Run) – is pleased to announce its first physical release titled “Skeletons and Broken Souls,” a vinyl offering of the band’s two EPs.

Recorded with Frank Marra at North End Recording Studios, all eight songs from the group’s current catalog can be streamed and downloaded via Bandcamp here, with the full vinyl package including expanded artwork by Rosamilia himself available for purchase on Friday, May 5tb.

“I didn’t want it to be a solo-focused project that was called ‘Alex Rosamilia’,” said Rosamilia of the inception of Dead Swords. “I asked Corey [Perez] if he would want to join me because we have similar tastes on a lot of things even outside of music so I knew there would be no confusion as to the direction or aesthetic of this project.”

Black Death’s Debut Album To See Re-Issue

Hells Headbangers is proud to present a special, LONG-overdue reissue of Black Death’s self-titled, debut album.

Highly sought after by collectors, not only is Black Death a crucial piece in the rich history of Cleveland heavy metal, its original 1984 release marks the first full-length release by an all African American heavy metal band. More than that, with the band’s origins dating back to 1977, Black Death is largely known to be the first African American metal band.

But most of all, Black Death’s lone album is a classic of raw ‘n’ wild heavy fucking metal with a thirst for the epic and dramatic. Black Death’s original lineup consisted of Siki Spacek on lead vocals and lead guitar, Phillip Bullard on drums and percussion, bassist Daryl Harris, and guitarist Gregg Hicks.

“This was the original, classic lineup of the band,” says Spacek. “I met these guys waaaaaay back in 1977 while I was in the 11th grade, on the exact same day that I was expelled from school. At this point in time, I had already decided that music was the direction that I wanted to take my life in, and heavy metal was the perfect way to accomplish this goal.”

A finalized release date and preorder info are due to be revealed shortly, and the track listing will be as follows:

-main LP-
Side A
1. Night of the Living Dead
2. The Hunger
3. When Tears Run Red (From Love Lost Yesterday)

7. Black Death
