Just as the title describes, this EP introduction from the band is full of four hard hitting tracks that are catchy and have lyrics that are relevant. The EP was mastered by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandra, The Devil Wears Prada) plus produced/engineered by Collin Young (Animal Faces, Godstopper, Yonder Peak) and captures the band’s love for classic rock while maintaining today’s standard in modern production.

The band’s music video for their first single “Fallen Angels” can be viewed in the player below. Vocalist / guitarist Everett Mason comments: “I would like to introduce the world to our brand new band Nervcast. This video is for our debut song “Fallen Angels” off our upcoming EP “Locked And Loaded”. The video features British actor Paul Mason and in the storyline kidnaps the band and holds us captive while we perform a classical arrangement of our song. In Paul’s mansion, he has installed a jail cell in the basement where he keeps us as prisoners until he wants us to perform for him. We had a lot of fun working with the talented Aaron Alter, who put this whole video together.”

2. Fallen Angels
3. Moonstruck
4. Locked And Loaded

Loathe Releases New Video “Dance On My Skin”

Liverpool group Loathe has announced plans to release debut album, “The Cold Sun,” with SharpTone Records on April 14th. Today, the band releases new song and video, “Dance On My Skin” (available below), along with album pre-orders here.

“The Cold Sun” is a concept record; a compelling 35-minute-long meandering into the depths of a dark, post-apocalyptic tale. The record follows the adjacent timeline of two protagonists, who exist during a dystopian future, stricken by tragedy and the ever-looming apocalypse.

For this album, Loathe traveled to Glow In The Dark Studios in Atlanta, Georgia to record under the watchful eye of producer Matt McClellan (Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Being As An Ocean).

“Our writing process varies from song to song, but usually it takes one of us to have the initial vision for what we want to create. We then each add our own personal input which completes the piece,“ states Shayne Smith, when asked about the quintet’s approach.

Today, the second “story behind the song” video is released by The Devil Wears Prada and spotlights the track “To The Key of Evergreen.” In the video, Mike Hranica talks about the elements that acted as inspiration for the lyrics:

“‘To The Key of Evergreen’ is a song based off of my favororite love story, a novel called ‘Lolita,’ by Vladimir Nabokov, specifically in the travels between the narrator and his lover. I wanted to create something along the same lines but also pairing it with my own experiences as of late…”

New Album Recordings Underway As Within The Ruins Enters Studio

Massachusetts metal veterans Within the Ruins has entered the studio to begin recording a new LP for release later this year. The band will record the new effort from their own studio with producer and guitar player Joe Cocchi at the helm. Vocal production will take place at Zing studios in Westfield, MA with Jim Fogarty (Killswitch Engage, The Devil Wears Prada).

“The writing process was a bit different for this album,” says Cocchi. “We took a step back and kind of reviewed some of our older material. Typically we’d rush and blast out a group of songs and then hit the studio. At the time it felt right. And It had a more organic feel. Now because of a combination of maturity and honestly just feeling sick of the same old formula, we really focused on creating something different sounding.”

The yet to be named album will be the band’s followup to the critically acclaimed Phenomena LP released in 2014. Cocchi concludes, “We went back to a more organic style of writing and production. I personally was finally able to abandon a lot of my writing habits or ‘rules,’ if you will. No more ‘oh, that part doesn’t really sound like us, have to change that,’ type of bullshit. Doing that created a fresher sound. This is the most raw and extreme sounding material we’ve ever written. Keep an eye out for studio blogs and more updates.”

Stay tuned for further updates.
