Details Of New Album “Deliverance From The Godless Void” Posted By Desolate Shrine

Finnish Death Metal trio Desolate Shrine will release the new album “Deliverance from the Godless Void” on November 10 via Dark Descent Records. The album’s opening track, “The Primordial One,” is streaming at the bottom.

It may be Desolate Shrine’s fourth album (third on Dark Descent Records) in six years, but the band shows no sign of fatigue on their newest opus. The band continues to erase the already thin line existing between black, death and doom and once again come out of the abyss with their own instantly recognizable style.

Recorded during 2016 with the same core trio since 2011’s debut Tenebrous Towers, this new beast, while no less epic than its predecessors (three of the seven songs featured here are at over eight minutes long) is even more textured and tortured while at the same time highly atmospheric. And while a track like “Unmask the Face of False” may be the heaviest and slowest they’ve ever done, that doesn’t prevent “Demonic Evocation Prayer” from being transfigured by hellish blast beats either. Still, as with each of their albums, Desolate Shrine’s latest full-length is to be considered like one big entity, almost like a ceremony if you will, one that demands to be experienced from beginning to end without interruption.

The album artwork (shown below) was created by L.L. Dan Lowndes mastered “Deliverance from the Godless Void” at Resonance Sound Studio.

The track listing is as follows:

1. The Primordial One
2. Lord of the Three Realms
3. Unmask the Face of False
4. The Waters of Man
5. The Graeae
6. Demonic Evocation Prayer
7. The Silent Star
8. …of Hell

Debut Full Length LP “Death Ordinance” Announced By Heresiarch

New Zealand death metal act Heresiarch announced that the band will issue the debut full length album “Death Ordinance” this on July 7th via Dark Descent Records on both CD and digital formats. Vinyl treatment to follow.

The album breaks a three-year silence following the band’s 2014 7-inch “Waelwulf.” Heresiarch first emerged from the depths in 2011 with the Dark Descent Records-backed release “Hammer of Intransigence.”

“Death Ordinance” was recorded by V.V. in early 2017 and mixed and mastered by C. Sinclair in the Temple of Sol. Artwork for the album was done by Mistanthropic-Art and can be seen below.

Experience the band’s evolution with the premiere of the new song “Storming Upon Knaves” over at this location.

“Death Ordinance” is set in a future ravaged by 30 years of war, global societies have collapsed into anarchic warfare between tribal bands. Following nuclear warfare and EMP’s, remnants of technology are re-purposed solely for conflict. Regression becomes progress as oppression and power struggle with natural law and imminent extinction.

What remains of humanity struggles in the vestiges, the final lineage impotent and malformed, for the scraps of a dying world. The album documents the twilight of existence through three movements the onset as “Consecrating Fire” and concluding with “Desert of Ash”.

Each song is deliberate with serving a purpose compositionally, as well as with the lyrical narrative. The track listing is:

1. Consecrating Fire
2. Storming Upon Knaves
3. Harbinger
4. Ruination
5. The Yoke
6. Iron Harvest
7. Lupine Epoch
8. Righteous Upsurgence
9. Desert of Ash

New EP “Thronosis” Detailed By Excommunion

As the world crumbles beneath our feet, a slumbering beast awakens to feast on the weak. That beast is Excommunion. The band will break a years-long silence with the upcoming release of “Thronosis” via Dark Descent Records on May 12th.

Fifteen years after the sonic blitzkrieg that was the debut album “Superion,” Colorado born Excommunion triumphantly returns with the new EP “Thronosis.” Christbutcher and Kyle Spanswick once again form the backbone for this relentless return.

The band comments: “In death we are born again, to rise once more with new form, beneath the Shadow of the Logos. Old doctrines are cast into the abyss and old flesh flensed and given to the flames of pyres. Let only the old name remain as our epithet. Let all else burn and fall from this new and glorious form within the paradoxical light of a greater heresy. In death, Excommunion arises once more…”

The release was recorded, mixed and mastered at Flatline Audio by Dave Otero and Excommunion. The cover art (shown below) was created by Lauri Laaksonen (Desolate Shrine).

The track listing is as follows:

1. Twilight of Eschaton
2. Nemesis
3. World Crucifier
4. Blessed is the Epoch of Darkness and Strife

Craven Idol Premieres New Song “A Ripping Strike” From Upcoming New Album “The Shackles of Mammon”

London, UK’s black metal outfit Craven Idol premieres a new song entitled “A Ripping Strike”, taken from the band’s upcoming new album “The Shackles of Mammon”, which will be released via Dark Descent Records on April 14.

Check out now “A Ripping Strike” below.

The Shackles of Mammon by Craven Idol

Comments the band about the song:

“‘A Ripping Strike’ summons the spirits of Poison (Ger), Sodom, and Bathory, with a dose of Gospel Of The Horns thrown in. It’s a forlorn tale of revenge, of a last stand, and of darkest defeat. Being the first track we wrote, it is the founding pillar on which the sonic matter on our second album The Shackles Of Mammon was wrought. A fierce attack of uncompromising old school extreme metal. The track features ferocious debut performances from two new band members, Heretic Blades (drums) and Obscenitor (guitar, also of Crom Dubh).”

Catch Craven Idol live this spring in the UK on the following dates:

April 8th – London @ Black Heart
April 15th – Glasgow @ North Of The Wall Fest
May 15th – London @ Underworld w/ Nifelheim
