The thing is we wanted to continue the Demons & Wizards thing, but with Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, we’re very busy people, and our schedules… it’s just one of those times right now where the holes are lining up in the right way for us to be able to commit to shows next summer. Bloodshot Dawn UK/Ireland Tour Announced – To Release “Reanimation” January 2018

Earlier this year Bloodshot Dawn had entered the studio to begin work on their third full length album, entitled Renanimation; an album that also features prominent guests including Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore), Paul Wardingham, Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams, The Faceless), Mendel Bij De Leij (Aborted).

Since their acclaimed self-titled and second album Demons, there has been shifts in the bands ranks making way for new members, Canadian shredder Morgan Reid, drummer James Stewart (also of Vader and Divine Chaos) and bass player Giacomo Gastaldi. Frontman and last founding member Josh McMorran reflects on the losing all members from the Demons line up as a huge shock to the system, “I had to take sometime to think about how to move forward with the bands sound and honestly thinking wasn’t what was needed. When Morgan joined the band he worked tirelessly on riffs and ideas for songs which I sculptured into my design and feel for how I thought the album should flow. We met up over a two week period and turned hundreds of ideas into ten tracks very naturally. The general feeling is that we now for the first time have a solid direction and process, we work as a unit instead of separate solo efforts within the band.”

“We recorded guitars and drums in the east of Germany and Czech simply because that’s where Morgan and James are based. The studio in Czech, Babylon Studios, had an incredible drum room which was a huge selling point to this studio. We recorded guitars at Morgans home studio, which follows a similar process to our previous records. After that we headed for Sweden to work with Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry) for final guitar pieces, additional layers, mixing and mastering. Per is a good friend and an extraordinary musician and his ear and eye for the big picture has helped us create Reanimation and pushed us to evolve our sound in a very natural way.”

“As for the stories within the album, a lot of it is ambiguous, regarding personal struggles, as well as observations on modern day society. But as with all Bloodshot Dawn records the lyrics aren’t always as clear cut and it’s the sci-fi artwork that really tells the cover story so to speak. We worked with a good friend Chris Kewli who is a concept artist with an incredibly creative mind. The artwork is the third part of a trilogy of art continuing and finishing the concept that started with the first two Bloodshot Dawn albums. The front cover pictures an alien approaching a war torn earth who’s coming to clean up the planet of human life and refresh the earth back to its former glory! The art unfolds further through the inlays of the CD.”

As well as the news of an imminent new release the band will be on tour throughout UK/Ireland tour, their first in almost 2 years!

Video Clip For New Song “The Solace System” Issued By Epica, New EP Release Expected In September

Dutch symphonic metal act Epica issued a video clip for the brand new song “The Solace System.” The song appears on the upcoming new EP of the same name expected to drop on September 1st via Nuclear Blast Records. Pre-order packages can be had at this location.

“The Solace System” was recorded, mixed and mastered by our dream team, Joost van den Broek and Jacob Hansen. The splendid artwork (shown below) is once again created by the hand of Stefan Heilemann, and the magnificent music video was created by anime master, Davide Cilloni.

Guitarist/songwriter Mark Jansen commented: “‘The Holographic Principle’ sessions were so fruitful that we had many songs left that didn’t fit on the album, but were also way too solid to become ‘ordinary’ bonus tracks. That’s why we decided to release them as a brand new separately release. All six songs just belong together and this way they will stay together. 🙂 Once more, I’m also very happy with the amazing artwork of Stefan Heilemann! Enjoy listening to our latest creations.”

The track listing for the EP is:

1. The Solace System
2. Fight Your Demons
3. Architect of Light
4. Wheel of Destiny
5. Immortal Melancholy
6. Decoded Poetry

Misery Signals Releasing “Yesterday Was Everything” Documentary

Over the last decade, influential hardcore band Misery Signals has undergone overwhelming changes involving the departure of the group’s founding singer and infighting that nearly left the band in complete shambles.

In a new documentary, directed by Matthew Mixon and titled “Yesterday Was Everything,” the band members takes viewers on an intimate journey of reconciliation as they find healing in the present by confronting the demons of the past. The documentary will be available on June 30th at iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.

Misery Signals will be hosting an in-theater screening of the documentary in Edmonton, AB on June 20th (7:00pm at Metro Cinema at the Garneau, 8712 109th Street, Edmonton AB) with partial proceeds being donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Filmed during a 2014 tour in celebration of the 10th anniversary of coveted album, “Of Malice and the Magnum Heart,” this documentary follows the band reuniting with its former vocalist for the first time since his unceremonious ousting a decade prior. The film explores the fatal tragedy that brought the band together and follows a journey from Vancouver to Toronto facing old ghosts and attempting to reconcile the past.

Stuart Ross (guitar) comments: “‘Yesterday Was Everything’ provides a glimpse into a very tumultuous period in our development as young men, friends and musicians. Without the ups and downs of those formative years it’s hard to say where we’d all be today. I believe this film offers fans of the band intimate information to questions that have otherwise gone unanswered. It allows insight into the story of Compromise; a tragedy that forever changed the trajectory of our lives.”

Bassist Kyle Johnson adds: “Matthew Mixon does a fantastic job of portraying the intensity that lies within the story. The good alongside the bad, the uncomfortable moments, the love shared between the five of us that extends to all the friends and fans we have made over the last decade, and the ability to come out of it still being able to call each other friends. I can’t wait for the world to experience it.”
