Whitechapel launches new single, “Third Depth”

– January 15th, 2019 –

Artwork by Branca Studio

On March 29th, Whitechapel will release their 7th full-length, The Valley, via Metal Blade Records. Mixed by David Castillo, mastered by Ted Jensen, and produced once again by Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder), The Valley is a reference to the part of Hardin Valley (west of Knoxville, Tennessee) where vocalist Phil Bozeman grew up. Set against this backdrop, he approaches his subject matter unflinchingly, building upon everything that came before, making it clear that he has survived that which he was forced to endure and is not afraid to confront it. “Phil has been upfront in his lyrics in the past about hardships he endured in his life as a child, and I believe with this record we tried to paint a better picture of that,” says guitarist Alex Wade, who alongside his bandmates, stands 100% behind everything their vocalist has to say. “I feel our music is Phil’s release from his past, being able to get it out and speak about it, and hopefully anyone who hears it that may have gone through similar experiences can find some release in it as well.”

For a preview of The Valley, the new single “Third Depth” can be heard now at: youtu.be/6LUWVC9jspg

It’s mean, but then transfers to soft and inviting. It’s a whirlwind of emotions throughout.”

Manowar Guitarist Karl Logan To Miss Upcoming Tour After Arrest

Following the news reported yesterday that Manowar guitarist Karl Logan was arrested and charged with six counts of third degree exploitation of a minor, Manowar’s management has posted a statement online confirming that the guitarist will not be taking part in the band’s upcoming tour. Magic Circle Entertainment stated:

“With regard to Karl Logan’s arrest and the charges against him: Due to the fact that Karl and his attorneys are dealing with these issues, he will not perform with Manowar. The new album and upcoming tour will not be affected.”

There has been no word yet on who will replace Logan on the upcoming tour dates and potentially the recording of the next album, but former guitarist David Shankle posted a lengthy statement on Facebook claiming he would be delighted to return to the fold:

“After thinking a lot, I consider appropriate to put together some words about the unfortunate events that have happened recently with Karl, which are of public knowledge and I will not repeat here, I just want to emphasize that I believe in the justice of my beloved country and I am sure that the truth will come to light very soon. Meanwhile, I want to thank you all for the innumerable messages I am receiving, for that reason, as I said before, I consider important to say a few words…

“For those who do not know, I joined Manowar back in 1988 after overcoming a casting from around 150 guitar players, I can proudly tell you that I was present during the mix of the iconic Kings Of Metal and I had the privilege of doing the tour to present the album. As everyone knows, I did not intervened in the composition of such a great album.

“Situation that changed on the double platinum awared “The Triumph Of Steel”, where I composed approximately half of the material, I always thought about the sequel to that album, both me and all the fans always imagined what the second part would be like … well. ..the truth is that the second part is already composed and is now being recorded together with my brothers of FEANOR, along with them, I have forged 10 songs of roaring steel, including THE ODYSSEY in 7 parts, an epic song like all of you expected and waited for so long…

“Well, the wait is over !!! get ready to listen to how Achilles should have evolved, Ride The Dragon, Master Of The Wind … Now I can show you and, in fact, I will show you how was the continuation of those songs that I kept for many years. in my head.

“Today, as you can imagine, I am full of duties and responsibilities, but it is also true that I am part of the Manowar family, I always had the best relationship with Joey, Eric and all the other guys that I consider nothing less but brothers, so if Duty calls my door, I will be happy to be present my weapons once again. As always I will give the best of me, 100%, as I did in Manowar and as I currently do in FEANOR, with whom I will do an extensive tour of South America in November.

“Finally, thanks once again for so much love and for so many beautiful words, I know that many of you want me back in Manowar, but the reality is that I am very excited about the record that we ended up with FEANOR and that I know. I’M SURE, all of you will enjoy greatly. I do not know what destiny has for me, I can only assure you that THE SHRED DEMON is more active than ever and very soon we will see each other again on the tour and they will be able to listen to the tremendous new songs that I have. for all of you. I love you all.”

Master Reveals New Album, “Vindictive Miscreant” Details

American death metal legends Master has announced that they will be releasing a new studio album, entitled, “Vindictive Miscreant” after signing with Transcending Obscurity Records.

Master’s founder Paul Speckmann comments, “Of course it’s an honour and a privilege in these days to sign to a reputable label which comes highly recommended by many excellent musicians! The future of Master carries on and we will fight until the end!”

Transcending Obscurity owner, Kunal Choksi states, “It’s truly a dream come true to work with a legendary band in Master. Paul Speckmann proved to be a man of rare integrity and signed the contract within two hours of bringing up the topic. Needless to say, I will be doing my utmost best not to let him down and do greater things for his band, now and in the future. This is a very fortuitous signing for the label and I couldn’t be happier. Hard work does pay off, it seems, when there was little respite. Thanks to Rogga Johansson of Paganizer for highly recommending my label to the band. Here’s hoping for a strong partnership with the legends Master.”

While no release date has been confirmed as of yet, the album art can be seen below and the tracklisting for the record has been revealed as follows:

1. Vindictive Miscreant
2. Actions Speak Louder Than Words
3. Replaced
4. The Inner Strength Of The Demon
5. The Book
6. Engulfed In Paranoia
7. The Impossible Of Dreams
8. Stand Up And Be Counted
