Ursa Premiere New Song “The great and the powerful” From Upcoming New Album “Abyss Between the Stars”

URSA, featuring members of the progressive black metal band Cormorant have released a single off their forthcoming album “Abyss Between the Stars”. “The great and the powerful” track is streaming now below:

Regarding the new track, the band comment:

“Serengeti Yeti” is definitely one of our favorite songs on the record—it has a nice mix of traditional doom and progressive rock/sludge, and the subject matter fits right in with our high-fantasy aesthetic. It tells the story of an ancient yeti who, after fleeing from a group of hunters, finds a mysterious vortex that hurls him into the middle of the African desert. It’s your classic “fish out of water” tale…except this fish wants to messily devour everyone in his path.”

Video director David Solbjørg of Twitchy Films added about the clip: “It’s always fun and challenging to work with Leprous. This time around we chose to shoot with RED 8K cameras and brand new colour science (ipp2) to get as atmospheric shots as possible in a demanding low light environment.”

Airbourne Posts “Breakin’ Outta Hell” Music Video

“I’m gonna hit the highway and never look back” is the line that launches Airborune’s latest, tarmac-trashin’ single “Breakin’ Outta Hell.”

The lyric video accompanying the song – created by Richard Oakes from Dark Fable Media – may have implications for those with easy access to open roads. Watch the clip from start to finish and you might just get the urge to open the throttle.

“We get a lot of feedback from our fans saying how much they love the faster tracks,” says Airbourne frontman Joel O’Keeffe. “But when they play them in the car… well, it can be tough on their pocket with all the speeding fines! ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’ is definitely one of THOSE numbers… even the guys who filmed the lyric video were stopped by the police and given a fine.

“For us, these visuals really sum up the feeling behind the song and the album, too. The whole message is right there. Put on the single, or the album, and it’s, ‘Fuck the boss and fuck all the tax I owe. I’m going out, I’m getting pissed and I’m going to listen to some hard rock ‘n’ roll.’ No ballads, no bullshit. I’m breaking out of hell!”

“Breakin’ Outta Hell” is the title track off Airbourne’s fourth studio album, which is due out via Spinefarm Records on September 23rd.

Inverted Serenity Posts New Single “Breath Of Life”

Producing technical groovy death metal rooted in musical duality and lyricism, Winnipeg’s Inverted Serenity is now streaming new track “Breath of Life” below, taken off upcoming album “Integral.”

The new album will drop on October 9, 2015 and Inverted Serenity had this to say about the “Breath Of Life” single:

“This track is the longest on the record and is definitely one of the most impressive songs structurally. Beginning with a doom inspired riff that picks itself up into an uplifting proggy type groove which then unexpectedly turns itself into an atmospheric black metal passage is just one of the many interesting changes the song paints itself into.

“This is also the first track that we as a band chose to include clean group vocals with pan out really smoothly with the dissonant acoustic guitar riff written by Tomas a few years prior. The theme discussed in the lyrics is based upon balancing of mind as it increasingly unfolds itself unto the realization that it is the observer of all that is. Through the process knowing the rhythmic balanced interchange of natures polarity (inhalation/exhalation), the endless unfolding is fully expressed.”

New Song “Into The Storm” Premiered By Scythia

Canadian folk metal act Scythia premiered the new song “Into the Storm” over at Metal Injection at this location. The song appears on the upcoming new album “….Of Conquest,” which is expected in early 2014.

The song features a guest appearance from Wintersun guitarist Teemu Mäntysaar. Vocalist David Khan commented: “This song is definitely one of the front-runners off of the new album. It is a great example of Scythia’s musical diversity captured in less than 7 mins. It shows that we can write an orchestrated power metal anthem that evolves into a clashing instrumental that sonically represents a devastating storm. Complete with a guest appearance from Wintersun’s Teemu Mäntysaari this song crushes, shred and soars above any of its predecessor’s from our growing discography!”

The track list for “…Of Conquest” is:

1. Fanfare 1516
2. Merchant of Sin
3. Bear Claw Tavern (see music video here)
4. Sailor’s Accolade

6. The Kraken
7. Into the Storm
