Former Vital Remains Singer Scott Wily Passes Away

Former Vital Remains frontman Scott Wily, who was with the group from 2008 to 2012, has passed away according to his former bandmates. No cause of death has been announced as of yet. A posting on the official Vital Remains Facebook page by guitarist Tony Lazaro reads as follows:

“It is with heavy heart and deep sadness that i say Gator Gaeton Collier and I (Tony ) lost and old friend and singer of Vital Remains Scott Willey. I had just seen him this summer at Summer Slaughter Fest in July. And we had a nice conversation about alot of things. We told some road stories from the past and we had some good laughs. I will always remember the good times my friend.

Former Mastic Scum Singer, Will Passes Away

Austrian death metal/grindcore veterans Mastic Scum has announced that their former vocalist Will passed away last Friday (March 23rd,) reportedly as a result of an automobile accident. A statement from the band reads as follows:

“In deep sadness we have to announce that our friend and ex-member Will died by accident on Friday, March 23rd. We are all very shocked about his tragic death. Will joined Mastic Scum in 1993 and left the band in 2008. We had a great time and lot of experiences together. R.I.P. Will – we’ll see us in another life!”

SPV/Steamhammer Offers Condolences to Riot Member’s Friends and Family

SPV/Steamhammer, the label that released Riot’s last album “Immortal Soul” featuring founding member and guitarist, Mark Reale, issued the following statement concerning Mark’s passing.

“With deep sadness we have to say goodbye to one of the most underrated guitar players and composers on this planet: Mark Reale.

“With albums like ‘Fire Down Under’ or ‘Thundersteel’ he created timeless metal music which will stand the test of time for many more decades.

“Last years studio album “Immortal Soul” on remains his legacy, and what an album it was: RIOT were back for the attack!

“We will see how the remaining members will handle this but we think that Mark would be very proud of them if they continue and spread the music he created.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mark’s family, friends, and bandmates.
