Carach Angren Unveils New Album “Dance And Laugh Amongst The Rotten”

Theatrical horror metal crew Carach Angren just announced new album “Dance and Laugh Amongst the Rotten,” which serves as the follow-up to “This is No Fairy Tale” (reviewed here) will be released by Season of Mist worldwide on June 16th.

“Dance and Laugh Amongst the Rotten” revolves around the haunting of a young girl with an unhealthy fixation on a Ouija board. For a first taste, check out the macabre and romantic “Song for the Dead” below.

Regarding the track, Carach Angren comments, “After months of hard work we proudly reopen the doors to our haunted mansion to reveal the first deadly taste of our upcoming concept album. A unique horror story as you all expect and deserve, we consider this as one of the most terrifying tracks that we have created so far.”

This new album was recorded with Peter Tägtgren at Abyss Studio in Sweden, mastered by Jonas Kjellgren at the Black Lounge Studio, and features cover art by Costin Chioreanu. The track listing is as follows:

Nitrogods Releasing New Album “Roadkill BBQ”

“Roadkill BBQ” is a musical homage to all the dead and living rock gods of Motörhead, Status Quo, and The Who. Rock’n Roll and boogie do not have to be re-invented, they just have to be played properly, say the Nitrogods and the guys do so, like no other band these days.

A good dozen of new songs by the German three-piece are going straight forward and they are unstoppable like a burning freight train without brakes. “Roadkill BBQ” will be available worldwide via Steamhammer / SPV as download, CD, and vinyl editions on May 26th, 2017.

Henny Wolter (guitar, Nitrogods) comments: “We are very proud on our new album. We are so dämn’ close to the bands’ live energy like never before.”

Crest Of Darkness Releases “Welcome The Dead” Video

Norwegian black metal band Crest Of Darkness just released a video for the title track off upcoming album “Welcome The Dead.” Directed by Anders Børresen for MONITORmeda, the video for “Welcome the Dead” can be seen below. Commenting on the video, founder and frontman Ingar Amlien had this to say:

“We wanted to make a video that offers a glimpse into the dark world of Crest Of Darkness. Perhaps we are just story tellers recounting a fairytale, and the video can certainly be viewed and enjoyed at that level, but we are also touching on aspects of Life itself and those eternal questions that people ask themselves about life and death and the meaning of it all.

“We might not have all the answers, and in all honesty we don’t even want to pretend that we do, but what we do want is to make people think for themselves, and find their own answers. Let’s face it, we are all Gods. Each of us builds their own universe, and it just happens that the world of Crest Of Darkness is my universe.”

New album “Welcome the Dead” includes a guest appearance by Norwegian actor Espen Reboli Bjerke, known for his extensive work in films, theatre, radio and television. Bjerke, who also won a Spelleman Award, the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammies, performs the spoken part on “Katharsis,” the closing track on the album.
