Anthrax Covers “Carry On Wayward Son” Live

This past Saturday, Anthrax closed a show at the sold-out Los Angeles “KillThrax” tour stop and those in attendance witnessed an exclusive treat: the band’s first-ever live performance of Kansas cover “Carry On Wayward Son.”

With shout-outs from fans for the band to play the song at the “KillThrax” shows, airplay on Active Rock stations across the country, more than 300,000 YouTube views, and even a “thumbs-up” for the cover from Kansas founding member Phil Ehart, the band decided it was time to play the tune live.

Anthrax fans are well aware that there is no keyboardist in the band and keyboards are prominent on this song, so the group enlisted the help of Fred Mandel to come onstage at the Wiltern Theatre for the performance. Mandel recorded the keyboards for the “Carry On” cover track and has played with icons from Alice Cooper to Elton John to Queen.

Stray From The Path Finishes Recording New Album

On a mission to bring honest, pissed off music to the world, Long Island New York’s Stray From The Path just completed recording a next full-length offering that follows the band’s 2015 release “Subliminal Criminals.”

The band recorded once more with Will Putney, who also produced, mixed, and mastered the yet-to-be-titled studio release at Graphic Nature Audio out of Belleville New Jersey, with additional vocal production from Jesse Barnett of Stick To Your Guns.

Vocalist Drew York comments on the recording process: “Having our new drummer Craig Reynolds in the studio made for a different experience going into it, but Craig is an absolute maniac and he smashed it!! We also pushed ourselves harder than we ever have before working 12, sometimes 16 hours a day; there was a couple of times I thought I was losing my mind haha.

“Going back to Will Putney was an obvious choice for us because he is a genius and plays a huge part in the aesthetic of this band. We also had our good friend Jesse Barnett do some vocal production and it was great having him there, shooting ideas around, and getting involved with everything.

“To wrap it up, if I could describe the record in a few words I would say that it is the heaviest, most pissed off, and relentless record this band has ever made. And that makes me very happy.”

Catch Stray From The Path live in North America as direct support to Architects on the “All Our Gods Have Abandoned U s” tour that just kicked off on March 7th in Detroit, MI and wraps up on April 6th in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

Native Construct premieres new video for “Mute” via MetalInjection.net

– November 25th, 2015 –

On tour now with Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved, Intronaut

Currently on tour with Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved, and Intronaut, progressive metal outfit Native Construct has released a new video for the track “Mute”, from their recently released debut, Quiet World. Directed by David S. Brodsky/MyGoodEye (mgenyc.com), the video can be viewed now at: metalinjection.net

Hailed as a “masterpiece” by HeavyBlogIsHeavy.com (5/5), Quiet World was written and largely self-produced while the band members were full-time students at the Berklee College of Music. What began as casual jam sessions during their free time at Berklee eventually became their primary focus as creative professionals. Having already made their mark on the Billboard charts (#56 Hard Music Albums Chart; #85 New Artist Chart) in addition to securing multiple national tours, it is anything but quiet in Native Construct‘s world.

Wage War Posts “Twenty One” Music Video

Ocala, FL’s Wage War has premiered a music video for new single “Twenty One” ahead of band’s debut album “Blueprints,” slated to release November 27, 2015.

In the music video, director Max Moore (Of Mice & Men, Silverstein, Real Friends) helps the band narrate the reality of growing up and self-identity.

“We are very excited to finally release ‘Twenty One’. Musically, this song maintains our heavy roots while exploring the more melodic side of our band,” explains guitarist Cody Quistad. “Twenty One is a figurative number for a time when you start to understand and accept life, learn that you’re forgiven, and feel proud of who you really are, no matter your background. We shot the video with Max Moore and could not be more pleased with how it came out.”
