Windhand Posts New Music Video “First To Die” Online

Richmond, Virginia based doom metal outfit Windhand has posted a new music video online for the song, “First To Die.” You can check it out below. The video was directed by Philippe Grenade, while the song comes from the band’s fourth album, “Eternal Return,” which was released in October through Relapse Records.

“The inspiration for the video started with the lyrics, First you die, to be born,” Grenade explains. “I immediately saw the image of a woman suffocated by the crushing anxiety of a metropolis; drowning in the delirium and being forced through some sort of psychedelic death trip and coming out the other side with a new point of view. A psychic death and rebirth. The video expresses anxiety and transformation while honoring the beauty of Windhand’s music.”

Details Of New Album “Terraforming” Posted By Jupiterian

Brazilian act Jupiterian has reemerged with its unique brand of atmospheric sludge/doom metal. The new album “Terraforming” is set for release on November 15th via Transcending Obscurity Records. A preview clip for the album is available at the bottom.

“Terraforming” was recorded at Duna Studios and was mixed by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) and mastered by Stephen Lockheart (Svartidaudi, Tchornobog, Zhrine). The album artwork was painted by Caue Piloto.

Haunting both musically and aesthetically, Jupiterian delves into subtler, more visceral sounds while retaining their crushing style. Like the dichotomy in the band’s home country, the music too encompasses the stark contrast between the intense and atmospheric bits, sometimes transmuting into a dark ambient form aided by Maurice de Jong of Gnaw Their Tongues. The die has been cast!

The track listing is:

1. Matriarch
2. Unearthly Glow
3. Forefathers
4. Terraforming (Feat. Maurice de Jong)
5. Us and Them
6. Sol

New EP “Embrace” Announced By Hell Is Other People, Title Song Available For Streaming

Drone. The word itself conjures the image of a bleak, desolate – dare I say – grim landscape, one covered in lakes of tears and forests of trajedy. In the middle of this forsaken purgatory exists the crushing bleakness that is Canadian post-black metal, shoegaze band HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE. Like their namesake, this pentagonal conglomerate of musicians vomit forth a soundtrack befitting the insanity that is mankind.

Building on a foundation of a bleak, droning atmosphere, Hell is Other People juxtapose elements of post black metal and shoe gaze to create an atmosphere that teeters between serene endearment, and crushing bleakness.

Immerse yourself in their brand new EP, “Embrace,” and pray to your false gods that you come out the otherside mentally and physically unscathed. The title track is available below.

The EP is set for release on September 15th via Black Element and features the following track list.

2. Embrace
3. Blossom

New label home 20 Buck Spin has unloaded a YouTube stream of the album’s pummeling second track, “Suffer (Life In Fragments),” along with early pre-orders for the record here.

The album was recorded and mixed by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios (Vastum, Necrot, Ghoul), mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege (Nails, Obituary, Black Breath), and completed with artwork by Adam Burke (Occultation, Loss, Gatecreeper, Artificial Brain).

1. Upon This Altar
