BillyBio (Biohazard) Solo Debut Album “Feed The Fire” To Be Release In November

Billy Graziadei (Biohazard/Powerflo) will release his debut effort from his new solo project BillyBio titled “Feed The Fire” on November 30th via AFM Records. A video for the first single, “Freedoms Never Free“, will premiere later in October, while a teaser clip for the release can be streamed below.

Comments Graziadei:

“I’ve always wanted to do a solo release and the timing of everything that I have been working on just seemed to fall in place. I always let the creative juices flow, I don’t try and restrict them to fit a certain genre. With BillyBio, it’s 100% me. No influence from anyone else. This is who I am and what I’ve become. I’m a product of everyone I’ve met, talked with, shared my stories with… and a bit of their stories as well.

Anyone who’s a fan of what I’ve done, especially with Biohazard, will love this! There’s something there for every fan of heavy underground music! I’m psyched to release my new music this fall as BillyBio. Launching the band in Europe on tour with my family in Life Of Agony couldn’t get any better!”

Scientist Premiere New Music Video “Magick Mirror”

Chicago’s favorite avant metal alchemists SCIENTIST released the brain-contorting wares of their complex yet compelling Barbelith full-length earlier this month.

Today, they debut the visual accompaniment to Barbelith track “Magick Mirror” noting, “‘Magick Mirror’ is perhaps the greatest example of what SCIENTIST accomplishes as a band and what Barbelith represents musically. The song is brimming with the creative incorporation of melody, dirty riffs, somewhat bluesy leads, light black metal musicality, and the integration of a progressive twist… some of the most creative elements of songwriting SCIENTIST practice…are to be found on the track…”

Kosm Premiere Music Video “Ancient Heart”

Vancouver progressive alternative metal KOSM premiere their debut music video for “Ancient Heart” streaming below. The single will appear on the band’s planned debut album entitled “Cosmonaut” slated for release later in 2018.

Drummer Sterling Paterson comments:

“We’re quite excited to debut our first music video for our single ‘Ancient Heart’. It’s a milestone for all of us because, while we’ve shot a few cover videos for YouTube, manifesting a picture to the lyrics that’s a bit more than just a bunch of dynamic shots of us playing our instruments, required a lot more thinking outside of the box. We had to work within the concept and theme of our upcoming album ‘Cosmonaut’, as well as the lyrical direction of the song itself, and taking into consideration we didn’t have much for budget, it was a lot of thinking on our feet to make something from nothing.

A lot of the credit goes to our vocalist Jessie for her creative direction and our photographer/videographer Lee Tebb for really helping us bring this video to life. It’s not like we had a few grand to throw around for special effects, professional grade audio/visual gear, etc; so working with what we had, we all couldn’t be happier.”

Erdve Signs Record Deal With Season Of Mist

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of freshly conceived Lithuanian experimental hardcore collective Erdve. The band will release debut full-length album “Vaitojimas” via the record deal.

Erdve comments: “Since Erdve is a very young name, this collaboration is proof that it is all about what matters the most – the music itself. We certainly did not have any expectations that the record could be presented to a wider audience, yet we are extremely proud and happy that our desire to create something meaningful for ourselves has procured a relationship with a record label which believes in artistic value.

“This partnership is a huge achievement in our creative lives and will set a strong basis for us to communicate our music, ideas, and artistic identity further on. We are incredibly thankful to Season of Mist for this opportunity.”

Sold out shows, many emotions and tears behind, on and in front of the stage, it’s been a very touching record for us & our fans, so that kept motivating us as well as in our creative freedom to release the next chapter of new songs you won’t hear as normal rock versions, and what should become “Swan Songs II”.”

New Album “In Contact” Detailed By Caligula’s Horse

Caligula’s Horse, a band at the forefront of Australia’s progressive rock scene, has announced the release of the fourth studio album “In Contact,” which is set for release on September 15th via Inside Out Music. A teaser clip is available below.

As with the band’s acclaimed album “Bloom” before it, “In Contact” sees vocalist Jim Grey and lead guitarist Sam Vallen collaborating closely on the music and lyrics. Vallen comments: “In our creative process every idea is scrutinized, deconstructed, and rebuilt in a way that one of us, alone, could never achieve. We’re one another’s harshest critic, but fortunately we’ve done this for long enough now that our inspiration draws us in a similar direction – we can finish each other’s musical sentences, so to speak. And we’re lucky that’s the case, since ‘In Contact’ proved to be a much more ambitious undertaking than anything we’d conceived of in the past.”

Vocalist Jim Grey adds: “‘In Contact’ has been an enormous proposition – the stories told in this album feel deeply personal, and we’ve never been more excited to share a new work with the world. The sounds on this album are dark and adventurous – but without losing the bittersweet and joyful sounds we developed in writing Bloom.”

As with the band’s second album “The Tide, the Thief & River’s End,” the band decided to hang a concept around the entire record, taking it in a direction that would end up being the opposite of its predecessor. “We decided to create a concept album, but one that came from a more personal place: one that would facilitate our creative needs wherever the journey took us” Vallen continues. “The broader concept is based around the nature of art – of what it is that sparks creativity and inspiration, a celebration of what connects us as human beings, the shared space across our many differences.”

Taking in four separate chapters, each one is dedicated to an individual and their own personal journey and how they express themselves through art. “Each of these artists are reaching for something more in their lives, and while disconnected entirely from one another, they are united by that reach: for a better life, but also for something intangible.”

Written between late 2016 and May 2017, “In Contact” went through a rapid production/mixing/mastering process encompassing five weeks between May and June. The music felt fresh and the ideas were captured at the peak of their vitality. The music on ‘In Contact’ stretched all of the bands abilities, from the frantic speed and complexity of “Will’s Song (Let the Colours Run)” to the immense scope and variety of the 16-minute album closer, “Graves.” This is Caligula’s Horse at its most ambitious and progressive.

The full track-listing is as follows:

1. Dream the Dead
2. Will’s Song (Let the Colours Run)
3. The Hands are the Hardest
4. Love Conquers All
5. Songs for No One
6. Capulet
7. Fill My Heart
8. Inertia and the Weapon of the Wall
9. The Cannon’s Mouth
10. Graves

MRTVI Announces New Album “Negative Atonal Dissonance”

Mysterious underground entity MRTVI has reared its ugly head with another groundbreaking album that defies conventions and bends perceptions. “Negative Atonal Dissonance” will drop July 30th via Transcending Obscurity Records.

A twisted interpretation of black metal laced with ambient textures and unpredictable experimentation turns the professed genre on its head. Like contrasting mental thoughts, the music is a cacophony of various influences clashing in a seemingly indecipherable pattern, with chaos reigning but only on the surface; underneath, it’s a carefully planned web of inextricable melodies and bursts of emotions.

MRTVI comments: “‘Negative Atonal Dissonance’ is not an album. It is a statement, a philosophy, an experiment; a rejection and reaction to the current trends within the mainstream and underground alike. Extreme metal has painted itself into a corner.

“Production values that serve no other purpose other than to sound recognizable and palatable. Arrangements, rhythms and harmonies that are more concerned with being identifiable and ‘viable’ than with originality.

“In an infinite universe, music is endless; a spectrum of emotion, of atmosphere, a vibrational connection running through and joining all frequencies; a spiritual, meditative practice, a dream and a nightmare connecting the creation with the creative force…”
