Infernal Diatribe Releasing “Videha Mukti” EP

India-based black metal outfit Infernal Diatribe will release the “Videha Mukti” EP on June 20th, 2016. Check out opening track “Demonic Gasping Mortal Nightmare (Wisdom)” in the player below. The following press release was also issued about the band:

“Infernal Diatribe, hailing from Kolkata, India, have taken the torch from Heathen Beast in further propagating the sound of black metal from the country. Along with significant albums released by Toxoid and Diabolus Arcanium, they’re at the foremost where the black metal scene in India is currently poised.

“Playing vicious and ambitious occult black metal, this quintet is all set to unleash their underground assault on unsuspecting ears worldwide. The band have worked tremendously hard on making this debut, their dream, a reality and armed with a deal with Transcending Obscurity Distribution, one can expect the band moving out of their home base to play other cities, and hopefully, other countries as well.

“Nonetheless, there’s little to stop their blackened spiritual attack. Superbly composed songs with an underlying dark Indian theme forms the crux of the band’s music. The whole affair reeks of spiritual indulgences, the left hand path and its fatal implications this side of the world, as the band tells us about the aghori path of moksha aka spiritual enlightenment.”

3. Morbid Evocation

Asphyx Posts Tour Video, Working On New Album

After returning from a tour of Latin America, Dutch metal band Asphyx continues working on new material to finally follow latest studio album release “Deathhammer” from 2012. Check out impressions from the tour in the video clip below, while the band had this to say:

“Asphyx recently ended a small tour throughout Latin America, which was the first tour of the band for over 20 years. We performed in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, Sao Paolo, Curitiba, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico City, San Jose and Medellin. Thanks to all local promoters and venues, D-19 and especially our dedicated and insane fans it became a fantastic experience we’ll never forget and a great success for Asphyx. So a massive ‘cheerz a lot!’ to everybody in making this possible and all the hordes that came to support the band.

“So many stories to tell, so many great times and shows we had. Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia; all you crazy metal heads can be proud of your countries and continent where death metal is so very much alive. It was indeed death… the brutal way! And let’s hope Asphyx can return in the near future!

“In January 2016, Asphyx will hit the rehearsal room to finish composing and arranging the final pieces for the follow up of ‘Deathhammer.’ And then hit the studio for the primary recordings, which will also feature Stefan ‘Tormentor’ Hueskens on drums for the very first time. So we start the new year off promising and 2016 will definitely see another brutal Asphyx album in our own particular style.”

KATAKLYSM: New Song ‘Thy Serpents Tongue’ Available For Streaming

Montreal-based death metallers KATAKLYSM will release new album, “Of Ghosts And Gods”, on July 31 via Nuclear Blast. The cover artwork for the follow-up to “Waiting For The End To Come” was created by up-and-coming dark and macabre artist Art By Surtsey and can be seen below.

The song “Thy Serpents Tongue”, which appears on “Of Ghosts And Gods”, can be streamed below.

Says KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono: “The time has come once again, KATAKLYSM on our twelfth studio album and still going strong. We are very proud of this record. It holds the best elements of the band’s career and a completely new vibe and fresh outlook on death metal in 2015. ‘Thy Serpents Tongue’ is the first taste, a sinister dark and groove but melodic track that when it bites you, the poison will take you in and make you travel to the other side.”

According to KATAKYSM, the “cover art echoes a sinister artwork depicting the reality of humanity’s beautifully disturbing existence and its impending death through the mortal and the everlasting. The background shows an ancient Incantation written in Aramaic.”

“Of Ghosts And Gods” track listing:

01. Breaching The Asylum
02. The Black Sheep
03. Thy Serpents Tongue
04. Soul Destroyer
05. Vindication
06. Marching Through Graveyards
07. Shattered
08. Hate Spirit
09. Carrying Crosses
10. The World Is A Dying Insect

Guitarist Jean-François “JF” Dagenais tracked drums, guitars and bass for the album, while vocals were recorded by producer Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, CANNIBAL CORPSE). The effort was mixed and mastered in the U.K. by British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, TESTAMENT, EXODUS, AMON AMARTH).

Says the band: “KATAKLYSM has been full of inspiration and are in full determination mode lately; a rejuvenated band that is out to conquer the world with no sign of stopping!

“This promises to be the album that will once and for all establish KATAKLYSM as one of the top pioneers of the genre!

“The latest material will be touching on some new ground while maintaining the aggressive edge the band has always been known for.

“The chemistry with new drummer Oli Beaudoin is incredible, and the four horsemen promise some crushing new material coming your way. Death metal hymns are arriving!”

KATAKLYSM had one of the busiest year in its entire career supporting “Waiting For The End To Come”. The band launched a successful run in Australia and Japan and made its way to many other countries, including some first-time stops in places like Brazil and South Africa, among others.

“Waiting For The End To Come” was released in October 2013 via Nuclear Blast.

Goblin Rebirth Posts New Album Teaser

Relapse Records is excited to announce Goblin Rebirth’s new self-titled album, which will see a release on June 30th, 2015.

The group (which features members of Italian film score figureheads Goblin) has revealed an album trailer to give fans a taste of what to expect of the record, which is available to stream below.

Inspired by the legendary Goblin, the 1970’s horror-synth / film score icons responsible for such soundtracks as Suspiria, Zombi and Tenebre, Goblin Rebirth came together after a temporary reformation of the original group in 2009.

The new incarnation of the group contains the famed rhythm section of the original Goblin (drummer Agostino Marangolo and bassist Fabio Pignatelli, who both played on the classic soundtracks to Zombi/Dawn of the Dead, Suspria, Profondo Rosso/Deep Red and more), with the addition of Aidan Zammit and Danilo Cherni on keyboards and Giacomo Anselmi on guitar.

The music from this new album is to be performed at festivals in Italy starting in May 2015, and there are plans for live performances in other countries in the following months. The track listing is:

1. Requiem For X
2. Back in 74
3. Book of Skulls
4. Mysterium
5. Evil In The Machine
6. Forest
7. Bolero
8. Rebirth
