Slipknot Fires Percussionist Chris Fehn

Slipknot has announced on their official website that, following a lawsuit launched against other members by percussionist Chris Fehn over a payment dispute, he has been fired from the band. The message reads as follows:

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6 and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life.

“Long Live The Knot.”

In the lawsuit, Fehn claims that vocalist Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan set up several other affiliated businesses to make money off the band without the members’ knowledge. He appeared to be backed in his claims by former member Donnie Steele, a founding guitarist who parted company with the band but would rejoin in 2010 following the death of bassist Paul Gray, to perform bass behind the scenes. In a since deleted Facebook post, Steele claimed that the band didn’t do much writing and that everything was done “behind the other member’s backs.”

Slipknot Percussionist Chris Fehn Files Lawsuit Against The Band

According to The Blast, Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn has filed a lawsuit against his bandmates over a payment dispute.

Chris Fehn, known for wearing a Pinocchio-style mask, has been performing with Slipknot since 1998 and participated in all the band’s albums. He claims to have always been told that the money from merchandise and touring is funnelled through one sole company that splits profits and pays the members of the band. However, Fehn claims he recently discovered that his bandmates have set up several other Slipknot affiliated business entities in different states that appear to be collecting money from the band.

Fehn says he was unaware of the separate companies, and claims to have never received a dime from them. He’s specifically calling out band leaders Shawn Crahan and Corey Taylor of the shady business dealings. Fehn wants a full forensic accounting done on Slipknot’s companies and assets, and to collect the damages and profits he believes he’s owed.

Meanwhile, Corey Taylor took to Twitter, stating: “You’re gonna read a lot of bullshit today. This is all I’ll say. JUST YOU WAIT TIL THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Long Live The Knot.”

Margot Robbie (“Suicide Squad”, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, “I, Tonya”) is well known for her love of metal. She recently chatted about that on the BBC Radio 1‘s ‘Heart Rate Monitor’ segment. In addition to mentioning Metallica and attending a Slipknot concert as being big to her in her adolescent life, she also mentioned liking Thrice and Bullet For My Valentine.

Bullet For My Valentine then continued to surprise her with a special live dedication to Margot Robbie while performing a show in Saskatoon, SK. Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor also makes a surprise appearance at the end of the segment, with no big heart rate reaction though…
