New Haven, Connecticut Progressive Death Metal legion Xenosis recently announced their forthcoming 3rd full-length, Devour and Birth. Set for release on January 19th, 2018. Today the group premiere “The Projector”, the third single to air from Devour and Birth thus far.

The first early song called “Army Of Darkness” was recently premiered and can be heard HERE. The second single, “Delirium (Death of a God)” can also be heard HERE.

Currents Signs With SharpTone Records

SharpTone Records today announces the signing of Connecticut metal band Currents, joining a flourishing roster that includes acts such as While She Sleeps, Emmure, Miss May I, We Came As Romans and Attila.

In conjunction with the signing announcement, Currents has debuted a video for brand new song “Night Terrors,” taken from a forthcoming record that’s due out this summer.

Currents, formed in 2011 and in recent years have solidified a lineup with Brian Wille (vocals), Jeff Brown (drums), Chris Wiseman (guitar), Ryan Castaldi (guitar) and Dee Cronkite (bass).

In conversation about signing to a new label, Brown says, “SharpTone Records is an absolute dream come true. Every single band has a dream of getting signed. However, getting signed nowadays doesn’t mean much without the right people behind you.”

Godstopper Releasing Split 7″ With Grizzlor

Next month, Corpse Flower Records will release part two of a four-part split 7″ series with Godstopper and Grizzlor.

Godstopper is a heavy, sometimes sludgy, sometimes noisy band from Toronto forged in 2010. Fans of Melvins, Failure, YOB, Torche, and Big Business, pay heed. Grizzlor meanwhile, started back in 2014, is an American noise rock trio from New Haven, Connecticut known for fuzzed out, angular riffs and abrasive vocals.

On February 17th, Corpse Flower will unleash two brand new tracks from each band limited to 300 copies on yellow vinyl with a digital download. The record comes sheathed in the artwork of Mark Rudolph (Carcass, Coalesce, Battlecross). You can also year Grizzlor’s “Are You Doing Your Job?” cut off the split over here.

Godstopper’s tracks were captured by Collin Young at B Town Sound in Burlington, Ontario and mastered by Greg Dawson at BWC Studios in Bramton, while Grizzlor’s were recorded and mixed by Victor Dowgiallo at Hermit Cave Studios, Connecticut and mastered by Stu McKillop at Rain City Recorders in Vancouver.

Newington, Connecticut metal act Enemy Remains – featuring original Fates Warning drummer Steve Zimmerman – is streaming the new song “Trust In No One.” The song is taken from the upcoming new release “No Faith In Humanity,” which is set to be issued on January 20th.

Sirens Over Sumeria Releasing “Omelas” EP

Bursting from the northeast scene with a take on progressive metalcore, the Connecticut based Sirens Over Sumeria formed in 2012.

Combining influences from the likes of August Burns Red, I The Breather, The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake with raging breakdowns, technical fretwork, and video game based lyrical content, it is no wonder the band has quickly risen the ranks and turned heads.

After several lineup changes and a change in sound that leans more towards the influences of Forevermore, Northlane, and Veil of Maya, the band has reemerged with a new EP in hand titled “Omelas” that will be released November 4th, 2016.
