Comments Richardson:

“I’m very honored to be able to help keep the band going because there’s definitely no way Oli would’ve ever wanted All That Remains to stop for any reason. After being a huge fan myself since their album ‘The Fall Of Ideals‘ came out, it’s definitely a very humbling/surreal experience to be able to come into a group that helped get me into metal back when I was first learning to play guitar.”

Anthrax Covers “Carry On Wayward Son” Live

This past Saturday, Anthrax closed a show at the sold-out Los Angeles “KillThrax” tour stop and those in attendance witnessed an exclusive treat: the band’s first-ever live performance of Kansas cover “Carry On Wayward Son.”

With shout-outs from fans for the band to play the song at the “KillThrax” shows, airplay on Active Rock stations across the country, more than 300,000 YouTube views, and even a “thumbs-up” for the cover from Kansas founding member Phil Ehart, the band decided it was time to play the tune live.

Anthrax fans are well aware that there is no keyboardist in the band and keyboards are prominent on this song, so the group enlisted the help of Fred Mandel to come onstage at the Wiltern Theatre for the performance. Mandel recorded the keyboards for the “Carry On” cover track and has played with icons from Alice Cooper to Elton John to Queen.

Catch these remaining Killthrax tour dates with Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, The Devil Wears Prada and Code Orange:

Cryptopsy To Perform “None So Vile” In Full On Devastation Of The Nation Tour

In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of “None So Vile,” Cryptopsy will be bringing the entirety of that album to the masses as part of the third annual “Devastation On The Nation” tour, which kicks off this coming May. The following press release was issued about the trek:

“Before there was Cryptospy, there was a never-ending void of nothingness. Just as existence exploded onto the scene some 13.8 billion years ago, the year 1996 saw the birth of technical death metal delivered at bewildering and perplexing-yet-proficient velocities. This was the year of ‘NONE SO VILE.’ As that now-classic title implies, there had yet to be – and never will be – None. So. Vile.

“From the terrifying roar of opener ‘Crown Of Horns,’ to the Army Of Darkness-procured sound clip of closer ‘Orgiastic Disembowelment,’ audiences will be pummeled into submission with all 32 minutes of this Northern Hyperblasting slab of extremity.

“Joining Cryptospy is a who’s who of brute-tech force, which includes tech-death legends Decrepit Birth, Rivers Of Nihil, The Zenith Passage, The Kennedy Veil, and Visceral Disgorge. Rounding out this cataclysmic assemblage are musical extremists Seeker and GLoom.”

Attila Premieres New Song & Lyric Video “Ignite” From Upcoming New Album “Chaos”

Attila premieres a new song and lyric video titled “Ignite”, taken from the upcoming new album “Chaos”, which will be out in stores later this year via SharpTone Records.

Check out now “Ignite” below.

Says frontman Chris Fronzak of the album:

“We sat down in a room together and asked, ‘What did we do when we wrote the first few albums that we don’t do anymore?’ We realized the thing we’d stopped doing was getting together and jamming in a basement. It’s so easy for bands to sit around a computer and create music. It’s too easy to forget to jam the songs in person, on real instruments. Everything about ‘Chaos‘ is real, because we all met up in Georgia, right near the basement where we used to meet up when we were living off Taco Bell.”
