Slipknot Exceeds 1 Billion YouTube Views

Slipknot just achieved another milestone as the Grammy winning band recently saw its YouTube channel exceed 1 billion total views.

The occasion has been marked with a new 360 degree video shot live at Knotfest and directed by the band’s own Shawn “Clown” Crahan.

The clip is for “The Shape” – first found on 2001’s RIAA platinum certified classic album “Iowa,” but performed live for the very first time here.

“.5: The Gray Chapter,” Slipknot’s fifth studio album for Roadrunner Records, made a stunning chart debut upon its arrival in October of 2014 entering the SoundScan/Billboard 200 chart at #1 with sales in excess of 131,000 albums.

Elm Street Unveils “Knock ‘Em Out…With A Metal Fist” Cover Art

Elm Street’s new album “Knock ‘Em Out…With A Metal Fist” is coming June 25th via Massacre Records and features some truly amazing artwork by Ken Kelly.

The album was recorded, mixed & mastered by Ermin Hamidovic at Systematic Productions. Elm Street’s Ben Batres comments:

“We have had the privilege of working with some of the world’s best and Ken Kelly is right at the top of the list when it comes to art. It is very surreal that the band now joins a client list that includes KISS, Manowar, Rainbow and Ace Frehley.

“The concept of overcoming adversity is a theme that runs throughout the whole album. Not just in one aspect of life but in many that we have gone through ourselves and I’m sure that many will relate to.

“Ken created a piece which visually relates to each song from the new album and at the same time reflects the style you expect to hear when you see an album cover like this. Merging both the art and sound will hopefully deliver a classic album to both old and new fans.”

“Artizan is pleased to announce that we will be releasing our first concept album in the first half of 2015.

Shadow Kingdom Reissues "Mourning" From Bolder Damn

Shadow Kingdom Records, in its penchant for reissuing early rock/metal classics, has re-released the 1971 opus “Mourning” from Bolder Damn. One of the seventies’ heavier acts, the Ft. Lauderdale band’s classic album has been fully remastered and updated with band pictures and information. Over forty years ago upon its issue, “Mourning” was proto-doom with its heavily fuzzed-out and psychedelic sound of that Blue Cheer/Sir Lord Baltimore era. The seven-song release is streaming over on the Shadow Kingdom bandcamp page, or below.
