Sacrosanct Posts New Music Video “My Last White Light” Online

German/Dutch progressive metal outfit Sacrosanct has posted a new music video online for the song, “My Last White Light.” You can check it out below. The song comes from the band’s upcoming fourth album, “Necropolis,” which will be released on November 30th through ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records.

“Necropolis” was engineered, mixed and mastered by Max Morton of Morton Studios, who has also remastered the entire Sacrosanct back catalogue. A prolific professional with a broad clientele, Max has worked with a wide variety of acts, including prominent Ukranian metalcore combo Jinjer. The objective with Necropolis was to record a classic, analogue-sounding album using modern technologies, and at the same time avoid any modern metal clichés.

Initially intended solely as a studio project, “Necropolis” was recorded by a brand new Sacrosanct lineup featuring Randy Meinhard and Christian Göwert on guitars, Richard F. Hesselink on vocals, and Kees Harrison – formerly of Dutch prog-metal act Sphere Of Souls – on bass. During the recording sessions, it soon became apparent that the new lineup wanted to continue working together and bring the new material to the stage. With the support of ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records, Sacrosanct are now looking forward to bringing these plans to fruition.

While “Necropolis” bears all of the hallmarks and intricacies that characterize Sacrosanct, it displays a more mature and focused song-writing approach. Songs like “The New Age Of Fear”, “My Last White Light” and “Only One God” are lyrically thought-provoking, creating a brand of metal that still makes the band hard to categorize.

Like its predecessor, “Tragic Intense,” which was released in 1993, “Necropolis” places a strong emphasis on melancholy melodies and clean vocals, but also incorporates many harmony guitar parts, faster tempos and some modern twists that mark the beginning of a new chapter for the band.

Laaz Rockit And Dublin Death Patrol Bassist Willy “Lange” Langenhuizen Passes Away

Longtime Laaz Rockit and Dublin Death Patrol bassist Willy Lange has passed away at the age of 57, his bandmates have confirmed, following a motorcycle accident. The bass player joined Laaz Rockit in 1983 and performed on the albums “City’s Gonna Burn,” “Stranger To Danger,” “Know Your Enemy” and “Annihilation Principle” before the band broke up, but took part in their reunion, performing on their latest album, “Left For Dead,” which was released in 2008. Tributes have been pouring in from the metal community including his bandmates and peers.

Lääz Rockit vocalist Michael Coons posted the following via Facebook: “In shock… the important thing is to honor Willy Langenhuizen and his family at this time… I will get back to all of you when I’m able to… too difficult right now to do so, please understand.”

Willy’s Dublin Death Patrol bandmate, Testament frontman Chuck Billy, wrote: “Today I lost my best friend Willy. You were the person I could always count on and I love you for that, I will never forget the wonderful times we shared, see you on the other side, my friend.”

Bassist Greg Christian (Trauma, ex-Testament) posted: “Rest In Peace, Willy Lange! I’m still kind of in disbelief. I haven’t seen him in about 5 years but I always liked Willy. He was cool. It sucks I won’t see him again. Also, I want to say, Willy got Legacy our first real show back in ’84. The Stone with Lääz Rockit and Slayer. I’m thankful and appreciate that Willy did that for us. And never forgot. It was a good thing. Anyway .. I’m still stunned here and don’t know what to say. Except this is sad news. Truly. Rest In Peace Metal Brother / Bass Brother!!! Rest In Peace!!!”

Guitarist Phil Demmel (Machine Head, ex-Vio-Lence) took to Instagram to pay tribute, saying: “We lost a Dublin legend in shocking fashion. Willy Langenhuizen was taken from his loving family and our town is left with a huge void. One of the nicest, most caring and friendly dudes. Will was someone I looked up to and respected especially in my early years of playing as we was already in established bands, playing clubs. That helped introduce me into a scene that would become my life. Watching and meeting Slayer as the opener for Willy’s band Lääz Rockit. After Lars ripped on Lääz on Rampage Radio, Will wages war on Metallica claiming the Dublin Death Patrol doesn’t fuck around. Pretty sure Lars called for a truce and then later almost got the bass gig after Cliff died! I played in a few City Hoops leagues with him and he hated to lose, played hard and shot lights out from downtown. Same with golf, dude was a natural. All of my heart goes out to Kell and their kids and for them to know how much we ALL care and will be there to support. Goodbye, Willy. Thank you and Rest In Peace.”

Altitudes & Attitude (Megadeth/Anthrax) Premiere New Single “Out Here”

Altitudes & Attitude have a new record called “Get It Out” in the works for a January 18th release via Megaforce. The band’s core consists of Megadeth‘s David Ellefson and Anthrax‘s Frank Bello and the first single from the outing has been launched in the form of the below lyric video for the song “Out Here“. Guitarist Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall) guests on this song.

Comments Bello of this current single:

“I’ve learned that writing songs is very cathartic. A lot of these lyrics are about the inner struggles of my life, and about the rage that has built up from my life experiences — my brother’s murder; my father abandoning my family when we were young, leaving us with no funds to pay the bills … the ups and downs of life in general. I’ve always had an anger inside that music really helps me deal with.”

Other guests involved with the effort include drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle), Ace Frehley, Gus G. of Firewind, Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper), Christian Martucci (Stone Sour) and Satchel (Steel Panther).

Stryper Frontman Michael Sweet Says They Have Finished Work On New Album

Michael Sweet, frontman of Christian metal legends Stryper has posted an update on his Facebook page proclaiming that the band has finished work on their new album. The message reads as follows:

“Three things stand out to me on the new Stryper album:

“#1 – Songs! They’re edgy & heavy, yet memorable & catchy. And yes there’s a ballad (rock/guitar ballad).

“#2 – Clarity! We tried hard to make this our most defined & dynamic album ever. We didn’t get into a “loud war” while mixing & mastering. Because of that it retained it transients and it really “breathes”??

“#3 – Stryper got their groove back”

This will mark the group’s first album featuring bassist Perry Richardson, who joined the band last year and their first release since 2015′, “Fallen.”
