Meatwound Announces Tour Dates, Album Recording

The Florida swamp rats from Meatwound have locked up a series of live performances throughout the Southeastern region this week, with more shows booked for later in the summer and fall months. The band also unveils a vague sense of what’s going on behind closed studio doors with several new recordings penned.

Meatwound kicks off a run of live slayings this week with a show this evening, July 8th, in Jacksonville, before heading north for a set at Blood Rust II Fest in Asheville, North Carolina tomorrow.

Following that festival, Meatwound will play in Chapel Hill with Die Choking this Sunday, then later in the week play Savannah July 13th and Orlando on the 14th. August is already being booked, as the band will support Gruesome and others on the 4th, and Meatwound is currently working on a string of shows with Nervous though the Southern states in October.

Amidst all the live carnage, Metawound is currently cutting the fat on new auditory beef for release in the months ahead, including a new LP for Magic Bullet. Stay tuned for full info.

Die Choking Reveals “II” EP Details

Pennsylvania’s Die Choking is prepared to shove a second wave of hyperactive grind/thrash down the world’s collective throat with the release of “II.”

Following its initial digital-only release in April of this year, Die Choking unleashed a 7″ vinyl version of the self-titled debut recording through The Compound. This new EP “II” follows in sequence from the previous release with a continued track listing. The following press release was issued about the EP:

“Once again bearing five explosive new songs in less than six minutes, tracks VI through X show Die Choking swarming with even more enraged and psychotic songwriting, and more of an ominous powerviolence approach, while stepping things up in the songwriting department and delivery on all levels. Most of the lyrics are a critique of society and self. The finger ultimately points back at itself.

“As with its predecessor, the new 7″ was recorded and mixed at Mark It Zero Studios with Dan O’Hare (Brutal Truth) — harnessing all music in one day and all vocals in another — and mastered by Brad Boatright (Baptists, Code Orange Kids) at AudioSiege. While the first EP reigned in black and grayscale cover art and vinyl delivery, II bears equally bleak scenery in a black and red layout by Jeffrey V. Daniels, and a run of limited red colors will be manufactured. Enclosed in the 7″ will be a ocument that will function as a real, personal living will, in the theme of the closing track, ‘Tonsil.'”

The track listing is as follows:

VI. Non-Yielder
VII. People Like You
VIII. Spent Fuel Pool
IX. Civilian
X. Tonsil

You can also catch the band live on these dates:

7/17/2014 Pariah House – Philadelphia, PA w/ Agitate, Deterioration
7/19/2014 ABC No Rio – New York, NY w/ East Of The Wall, Psyopus, Mary Todd
8/11/2014 TBA – Baltimore, MD
