Hecate Enthroned Posts New Lyric Video “Erebus And Terror” Online

With Embrace Of The Godless Aeon, their first record in five years, proving to be one of the best-reviewed extreme metal releases of the year to date, the UK-based symphonic blackened death metal group Hecate Enthroned have unveiled a lyric video for the album track “Erebus And Terror,” which features guest vocals by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle Of Filth, Therion, Mortiis).

Tracklisting:

1. Ascension
2. Revelations In Autumn Flame
3. Temples That Breathe
4. Goddess Of Dark Misfits
5. Whispers Of The Mountain Ossuary
6. Enthrallment
7. The Shuddering Giant (digital bonus track on vinyl edition)
8. Silent Conversations With Distant Stars
9. Erebus And Terror

Embrace Of The Godless Aeon – the band’s first recording with vocalist Joe Stamps, who joined the band in 2015 – sees the group continue to deftly mix black with death, modern with classic and extreme with symphonic. The album, which features guest vocals on three songs by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle Of Filth, Therion, Mortiis), was co-produced by Dan Abela (Voices, The Antichrist Imperium).

Says Dylan Hughes, “This album with its epic sweeping orchestration and heavy aggression represents a new chapter for us cementing the chemistry of the current lineup and our partnership with M-Theory. A welcome return from Sarah Jezebel Deva hints to the grandiose flavor of earlier releases, but this time, it’s tempered with a guitar and drum sound forged from solid steel and then edged by a razor-sharp production from Dan Abela. The summoning of unholy flame and terror that is the cover art is an oil painting commissioned from in-demand satanic artist Nestor Avalos and begins your visceral journey through cold bleak landscapes, crushing tormented seas and searing shards of heavy metal.”

Overkill Reveals New Album “The Wings Of War” Details

Legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill will unleash their 19th studio record, The Wings Of War, on February 22, 2019 via Nuclear Blast .

Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth comments, “It was a blast making The Wings of War! It is something old feeling new again, as our chemistry was altered by the addition of Jason Bittner. I was curious from the get-go, how would it pan out? I think what we accomplished here is a new, upgraded Overkill that embraced the new chemistry, while taking our roots into the present. The new formula produced not only more raw power, but more places to go with melody, a win, win. The key is being not only interested in the change, but part of it. I’ll tell you what, it’s still fun as hell making Overkill records.”

The Wings Of War was recorded at Gear Recording Studio in New Jersey, SKH Studio in Florida and Jrod Productions with engineering handled by DD and Dave. The album was produced by the band while Chris “Zeuss” Harris.handled the mixing and mastering. Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth, Soilwork, Death…) was again enlisted to create the artwork for the album.

The track listing for The Wings Of War
1. Last Man Standing
2. Believe In The Fight
3. Head Of A Pin
4. Bat Shit Crazy
5. Distortion
6. A Mother’s Prayer
7. Welcome To The Garden State
8. Where Few Dare To Walk
9. Out On The Road-Kill

Guitar Playthrough Clip For “Faces Of Meth” Issued By Narcotic Wasteland

Extreme metal four-piece Narcotic Wasteland – the full-time project of former Nile frontman Dallas Toler-Wade – will release a brand new full-length album, entitled “Delirium Tremens,” on October 13, 2017 via Megaforce Records/MRI. The album is now available for pre-orders via Amazon, with more options coming soon.

A few weeks ago, Narcotic Wasteland surprised fans with a brand new track, “Faces of Meth,” to great acclaim. Today, you can watch a guitar playthrough of the track, courtesy of Dallas Toler-Wade, via Guitar World at this location, or simply clicking in the player at the bottom.

Dallas says, “When writing this song, I was tapping into some of the musical ideas I had in the early 90s. I have always loved the toxic tri-tone sound. So, years ago I figured out a way to play them using my index and middle, then kind of hammering on the next strings over with my middle and pinky. This is all over the two albums in one form or another, and it is something I have quite enjoyed experimenting with over the years.”

“Delirium Tremens” shines a spotlight on negative human behavior, inspired by – but not entirely based on – our country’s addiction epidemic. Narcotic Wasteland named the new album after the title track, which is about delirium tremens, the medical term for symptoms an alcoholic suffers after about three days without a drink. Over the years, many of Toler-Wade’s friends and family have fallen into the abyss of addiction, and some have never returned. of remaining silent about the scourge that has surrounded him, the band addresses it throughout “Delirium Tremens.”

“Delirium Tremens” is a dramatic musical evolution from the band’s first release. Not only is the production better, the chemistry between Ed Rhone and Toler-Wade is impeccable, each feeling out and feeding off of the other’s playing. And bassist Chris Dupre and drummer Phil Cancilla form a whirlwind rhythm section that’s tighter than a locked door. Coupled with trenchant grooves and impacting vocals, “Delirium Tremens” is more than an homage to the band’s favorite musicians, it’s a new style wrought from some of the best pages of the past.

The track listing is as follows:

1. Introspective Nightmares
2. Faces of Meth
3. Return to the Underground
4. We Agnostics
5. In Memoriam (intro)
6. Bleed and Swell
7. Delirium Tremens
8. Self Immolation
9. Life Revolted
10. You Will Die Alone
11. Husk
12. Pharma Culture

Crystal Eyes Recruits New Drummer Henrik Birgersson

Vocalist Mikael Dahl from Crystal Eyes just checked in with this announcement about recruiting a new drummer:

“The reason for the lack of Crystal Eyes news lately is simply because there’s hasn’t been any band to write about. In February last year we had reached a point where the chemistry of the band didn’t work and we just couldn’t agree on anything.

“Because of this I had lost my passion for writing and playing music so when Niclas wanted to leave the band for the 3rd time I saw no other way but to split up the rest of the line up. There was no news about this because I didn’t want to end the name Crystal Eyes after so many years and I knew the desire to create music would come back.

“So here we are today and the time is right for a new beginning. After 19 years together Claes Wikander is of course still in the band and there’s no way I could do this without him. 2 years ago I met a drummer who had the same musical taste, influence and vision as me and instantly became a good friend. When my and Claes other band Defenders Of The Faith (Judas Priest tribute) needed a new drummer in late 2014 he did an audition that completely blew us away and after a year playing together we begin to realise that there was a future after all. He’s without any doubt the best drummer we’ve ever played with and a big reason for getting our inspiration back to continue the path of Crystal Eyes. Welcome to the band Henrik Birgersson.

“Right now we’re busy writing songs and just having fun. When the time is right we’ll announce the second guitarist. Watch Henrik warming up on the drums in the clip below.”

Details Of New Album “Titanomachy” Issued By Imperium

Following the release of the acclaimed debut “Sacramentum” in 2012 (which featured Trigger the Bloodshed and The Bridal Procession members Robert Purnell and Steve Garnier), U.K. technical brutal death metal act Imperium have reshuffled the ranks and bounced back by unveiling a brand new masterclass in technical death metal entitled “Titanomachy.” The album drops via Ultimate Massacre Productions on May 7th 2016. A preview clip can be heard in the player below.

“Titanomachy” features twelve tracks of ferocious yet epic metal, steeped in ancient Greek mythology and lore. Experience bleak tales of betrayal, brutality, destructive monsters and war between the Gods and Titans themselves. “Titanomachy” is huge in both lyrical scale and musical depth.

Founding member and chief songwriter Mike Alexander had been working alone until he enlisted Doug Anderson, drummer of Unfathomable Ruination and ex-Bloodshot Dawn, however Doug was not brought in for his skill behind the kit, but rather his voice.

“When I first heard the Imperium material I was really impressed, and the opportunity to work on something like this was an immediate attraction to me,” comments Doug. “The album feels huge. Epic! Whilst maintaining a constant level of brutality, and technicality. Mike’s guitar playing is astonishing, but it isn’t just an album of show boating, There are real memorable songs here, and a heavy signature sound too.”

Mike Alexander comments on the writing process, “I was writing over a very intense two year period and then when Doug came in and we got together in the studio with our producer Chuck Creese it all just gelled and flowed. Every day in the studio was such a rush as everything just came together so well, the chemistry was awesome and the resulting album was completed beyond all expectations.”

Doug adds, “The debut album was based heavily on Ancient Roman history, but the new record falls deep into Greek Mythology. The Greek gods of course heavily influenced the Roman’s, so in terms of concept, you could call this album a prequel. And at the climax of the album, we cover the ‘Titanomachy’ itself. The war between the Titans and the Gods. I think the lyrics reflect the music well, as the songs are very grand in scale and if a bloody war between the Titans and the Gods isn’t grandiose, then what is!?”

The track listing for the album is:

1. Intro
2. Castrate The Father Of The Sky
3. Beast From Beneath
4. Descend Abysmal Void
5. Ingurgitate The Traitor
6. Into Abode Of The Dead
7. The Unseen One
8. Skies That Bear Thunder
9. Phlegethon Rising
10. Minos
11. Neither Like Gods Nor Men
12. Titanomachy

Night Viper Streaming Full Self-Titled Album

Night Viper is now streaming the entirety of the band’s self-titled debut album, released internationally last week by Svart Records. Listen in below.

Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, the first two ingredients in the Viper pie were Sofie Lee Johansson and Tom Sutton (Horisont, The Order Of Israfel, ex-Church Of Misery). As soon as they met, the chemistry started flying and some pure fist-banging heavy metal demos were thrown down.

They were joined briefly by Sven Nilsson from Antichrist on drums as well as a few others on guitar and bass, but it was once swing master Jonna Karlsson was behind the kit that things started really moving. The folk-tastic stylings of Emil Ridderstolpe on guitar and the fast fingers of Ruben Åhlander Persson (Miasmal) on bass completed the lineup.

1. Night Viper
2. The Hammer
3. Curse of a Thousand Deaths
4. Run For Cover
5. Warrior Woman
6. Faces in the Mirror
7. Never Be Enslaved
8. Dagger In Hand
9. The Wolverine

Corrosion Of Conformity Signs Deal With Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast Entertainment is pleased to announce the worldwide signing of metal outfit Corrosion Of Conformity.

The band will enter the studio late this winter/early spring with longtime producer John Custer, who has recorded such prior C.O.C. classics as “Deliverance,” “Wiseblood,” “America’s Volume Dealer,” and “In The Arms Of God.” The as-of-yet-untitled-album will mark the band’s studio reunion with vocalist/guitarist Pepper Keenan and a first full-length record since 2005.

Says Keenan about the new partnership: “To all the C.O.C. fans worldwide, Mike, Reed, Woody and I are proud to announce that we are starting our next sonic adventure with Nuclear Blast Entertainment! We are honored and psyched to be a part of the Blasted Family, both professionally and artistically. After all these years, it‘s truly inspiring to reawaken the chemistry that the four of us have. We are seriously fucking with our pants off now! We do not take this journey lightly and cannot wait to return to the studio to drop Ze’ Hammer! All of this would not be possible without the global support of all you free thinkers and beer drinkers. Much love and respect and look forward to to seeing you soon.”

President of Nuclear Blast Entertainment, Monte Conner adds: “I love all the incarnations of C.O.C. over the years but the Pepper-fronted version has always been the definitive line-up of the band for me. Ever since hearing Pepper take charge on 1991’s ‘Vote With A Bullet’ I was dying to hear him sing more with the band. This line-up’s 1994 debut ‘Deliverance,’ with its signature tracks ‘Clean My Wounds” and ‘Albatross,’ was an instant classic and is still one of my all-time favorite albums.

“It has been a long 10 years since their fourth album – the highly underrated ‘In The Arms Of God’ – and as a fan, I am dying to hear what these guys come up with next. I know it will be a monster. The fact that it is coming out on Nuclear Blast is very fulfilling for me and many others on the Nuclear Blast team as we finally get to work with one of our favorite bands.”

Details Of Debut Album “Memories From The Future” Revealed By Jaded Star

Jaded Star, the dynamic Greece-based outfit featuring former members of Visions Of Atlantis, Iced Earth and many others, has divulged new details of their impending debut album, “Memories From The Future,” which will be issued April 14th in North America and April 24th in Europe via Sensory Records.

With over forty-five minutes of Jaded Star’s energetic forward-thinking melodic heavy metal, “Memories From The Future” was produced by vocalist Maxi Nil (ex-Visions Of Atlantis), mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom at the legendary Fredman Studios in Sweden (Arch Enemy, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Opeth, etc.), and features ten brand new epic anthems. The album showcases Maxi’s electrifying vocals and the masterful drum work Saini is known for. Guitar hero Kosta Vreto, with his unique finger strumming style, eschews the plectrum in favor of a raw, organic sound that literally comes straight through his hands. Babis Nikou on the bass brings a solid foundation and the chemistry between he and Maxi as the songwriting team provides emotion to match the power of the sound.

The cover artwork was created by Lila Belivanaki, and the album’s track listing has been revealed below. The record will be delivered in a digipak CD format with a 24-page booklet, and on all prime digital services.

The track listing is:

4. Stars
5. Into The End Of Time
