First Video Footage Of Chris Adler Recording With Megadeth?

A short video clip of a drummer believed to be Lamb Of God’s Chris Adler laying down tracks for Megadeth’s new album has been posted on the band’s official YouTube channel.

Last week a photo that was taken of Dave Mustaine and Chris Adler having a discussion at what appeared to be a fast-food restaurant posted on Twitter by former My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar. If true, Adler’s involvement with Megadeth would apparently be limited to studio work only.

Megadeth has yet to officially announce permanent replacements for drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick, who quit the group in 2014.

Fateful Finality Signs With Steamhammer/SPV

Fateful Finality has signed a world wide deal with Steamhammer. The label had this to say:

“Steamhammer/SPV herald the eventful months to come with their extremely promising new worldwide signing: thrash metal act Fateful Finality signed a recording deal with the Hanover label last Friday and are scheduled to release their second album Battery in spring 2015.

“The four-piece from Weil der Stadt, Baden-Württemberg, featuring guitarists/vocalists Simon Schwarzer and Patrick Prochiner, bassist Philipp Mürder and drummer Mischa Wittek, brought out their debut King of Torture in autumn 2011 and presented their own brand of modern thrash metal only one year later at the finals of the Wacken Metal Battle 2012. Their successful mix of clear vocals, aggressive screams and amazingly mature songwriting makes the group’s hard-as-nails sound all the more impressive.

“The eleven tracks on Battery were recorded at Hamburg’s Chameleon Studios with Eike Freese (Dark Age) and at the Chemical Burn Studios in Bad Kösen, Saxony, with Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn).”

Georg “Schorse” Schröder of SPV adds: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have signed this young German thrash metal band. I’m more than confident that Fateful Finality are set to cause a major stir with their upcoming album. This band will have no problem keeping up with established international acts in terms of sound and songwriting.”

Frontman Simon Schwarzer also has high hopes for this collaboration: “As a young band, we’re really proud and happy to have been signed by a renowned label such as Steamhammer. I’m sure we’ll be able to repay the trust that they have placed in us.”

Deadlock Finishes Work On New Album “The Re-Arrival”

The German metal outfit Deadlock has finished work on a new album, and label Lifeforce Records comments:

“With ‘The Re-Arrival,” Deadlock present their fans an impressive overview of their past work, which goes much further than the usual ‘Best-Of’ releases. Within the 30 tracks on ‘The Re-Arrival’ you’ll find some pretty rare and previously unreleased demo tracks from the very early days of the band’s history, complete re-arrangements of Deadlock classics and 3 brand new tracks with the new drummer and wunderkind Werner Riedl, which marks another step in the band’s evolution and which shows again, that guitarist Sebastian Reichl is a highly gifted songwriter if it comes down to hit potential of the tracks.”

Sebastian Reichl comments: “The recordings for the new album have been a travel back in time for all of us and especially for me as the last remaining founding member of Deadlock. Browsing through old recording-tracks, sorting out and partly re-arranging was more than an emotional experience – keeping in mind I play more than half of my life in this band. Feelings such as pride usually don’t have all too much impact on what I’m doing, but exactly that feeling comes most close to what I felt. It was simply amazing to touch our old hits again and to pack them in a new up-to-date sound – thanks to the whole Deadlock family for the past years and the years to come!”

“The Re-Arrival” once again was produced simultaneously in different studios: aside the band’s own Slaughter’s Palace studio the band hit the Chemical Burn Studio in Bad Kösen again as well as for the first time the history-charged Chamäleon Recording Studios in Hamburg.

The 3 new songs were co-produced and mixed by Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn) and Eike O. Freese (Dark Age). Both are also responsible for the mix of the re-recordings and re-arrangements – Alexander Dietz has besides mastered all 30 tracks. Artwork was handled by Pepe (Azraeldesign).
